Save, I’m 11 years old and a goalkeeper, I started 1 year ago and I sometimes let easy goals in and it goes downhill from there because people (in my school team) blame me and then I have a negative mindset but I find that when I think positively and don’t have those people on my team, I play better. This channel was one of the first ones I watched when I got into goalkeeping and it was my guide to becoming better and is the reason I even compare to some others who have been playing for way longer than I have
Save , despite not being a beginner, I can see how much this helps And for anyone new to goalkeeping mentality is key , if you made a mistake, it already happened , you can't change it or influence it , it's the past , however you can influence what happens next and see where you went wrong and improve next time , at the point where you can't get it wrong, just keep going and don't care abt criticism, cuz they won't dare to be in goal , remember, you'll never find a hater doing better then you
I'm 15 years old, I recently got into goal keeping and, I'm going for a interschool match. I'm kind nervous though, coz i'm not really the best. My biggest weakness is diving. I can save every high shot but diving is a problem I fear of getting injured sometimes. Thanks a lot this has been such a great encouragement. I hope I don't flop or I'm pretty sure everyone will blame me for sure and I'm so nervous. It's always easy to blame the goal keeper for being "not good". I really have to ace tmrws match. Please root for me. I wish everyone goal keeper good luck. I really need it.
Watch my video to help you improve your diving and get over the fear of diving. Also check out the distribution program as I believe that's a big part of the game many people are missing 💪 Finally good luck 🤞
@justkennieyt how's it going for u?? I'm gonna start in a few days!! I hope diving have became easier to u, remember that sometimes it gets fun when you fall, when you fight your fear and you eventually fall you just get back up and smile (that's from someone who is also afraid of diving or falling)
All of my teams keepers are injured right now. Ive been scrambling round trying to find good advice for keeping and this was a lifesaver man. Thanks so much!!
I am keeper and I never let a shot in my life because I always watch opgk1 and at schoolwhen I come out of net my school team says that i need to stay in or we will loose. My mum says I will grow up to ne like messier, courtoi, Emerson and oblack but I think she is wrong. My friends are always asking me how I'm so good and I just tell them to watch ophk1. Tomorrow I will be watched by a scout. I always help other teams when they need it 😊
That applies to me as well , Well if you find yourself conceding less goals and you're improving yourself as a goalkeeper then carry on , and try to be aggressive, cuz even your own defense will eventually stop questioning you
If they don’t like how you’re doing YOUR job, maybe they should try it. Usually a keeper who’s coming out from goal is usually confident, experienced enough, and knows what they’re doing. It’s one thing if you’re out of position, it’s another if you’re (and this is likely) trying to set yourself up for success!
i wanna become a keeper but the problem is is that i'll be playing seniors which my parents keep saying "you'll be playing against people who have been playing for years" which is obviously true but hopefully i can convince them
Today I just broke my ankle while goalkeeping and I will take 8 weeks to recover but after I recover my parents doesn’t allow me to be a goalkeeper anymore so what should I do
Oh wow. I hope you are all okay and I wish you a speedy recovery. Your parents probably just care for you and don't want you to get hurt more which is understandable but after you recover then they might be okay with it
Great. Straight forward, concise and focused. Thank You for making the effort to act out some scenarios with your friend to simplify things. My 10 year old son plays as a keeper in a local team, and to be honest, even though the season is almost over, I'm thinking of moving him to another team because in the one where he is playing right now he never gets any encouragement or motivation. Besides, when his team loses, he is made to feel guilty. Your tip about avoiding negativity is more important than many people might think.

Do you have a video on recovery after injury as a keeper or how to refrain from it? Fractured my ankle and tore hamstring and after physio it seems harder or I seem worse at keeper. This was great tho and imma have to train much more.
You have to go slow after recovering from injury. You don't want to make it worse or anything. Try to slowly strengthen and mobilise the areas which were injured just so you can get back to speed quickly but carefully preventing injuries. Getting that goalkeeper touch back will come with time so don't worry about feeling worse as long as you train consistently. Don't overdo it though
