I am the daughter of a WW II RAF pilot/navigator, John H. Wood. Dad trained in Winnipeg, MB Canada under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. One of the last times we took my dad to the air show, he spoke about his experience flying in the Avro Lancaster bomber. Dad knew more about that plane than the guy that had flown it in from the museum in Canada. Upon finishing his tour of the plane, he had a huge crowd of people surrounding him as he talked about his time training in the Lancaster. He needed to set the record straight and that he did! Thanks for a wonderful video. Great job!
@@lesleywood2949 thank you very much. That was a good story. Always good to hear the veterans stories. Several years ago they had a Lancaster at the show. It was awesome watching it fly.
Ive gotta get here next year. Been wanting to get back home for a while, but life gets in the way. Great gathering. My dad told me during WWII the airport grounds housed Italian POWs. The camp commander was a guy named COL Bittenbender, who walked around with a sword strapped to his side. He always found that funny.
Did you pick anything up for the collection ? I got a few things in the flea market area this year including a really nice all original Luftwaffe helmet
Great video Ken! Thank you! Nice to see "FiFi" in flight. She flew up here to Kitchener, Ontario a couple of years ago. It was really interesting to tour the interior.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Love those ww2 planes. When I was stationed at Elendorf AFB. (78-81) they would bring up ww2 planes for there airshow. Again thanks for sharing.
I love this. Is so close to my house and it’s so cool to see all the planes. This year we went with our cousins and grandparents and it was amazing. We took school busses over and there was a huge bomber that flew so close to us. Me and my cousins were obsessed with the bombers
