I was lucky enough to be walking near my home (next to RAF Scampton) and I saw the last flying Vulcan circling around the aerodrome... it was fantastic
There is an airline in Northern Canada called Buffalo Airways that flies mostly DC-3 as well as a few DC-4, C-46, and Lockheed L-188 Electras
The strobe effect at the end that makes the plane's props hold still was kind of amazing! Love these museum vids Jingles.
Growing up living in south eastern Michigan I would see B-17s and and mustangs flying over the house multiple times a summer going up to different air shows. Wasn't a far drive to the Air Force museum in Dayton either! Always took it for granted. Funny how different perspectives make you appreciate things more!
called the the thunderbolt a wildcat lol
it's a thunderbolt that 3.04 n not the wildcat
I had the pleasure of visiting Duxford during my time in England - I'm glad they've kept the place up and, evidently, greatly expanded the exhibits.
My grandfather was stationed at a nearby airbase during the war, as a civilian volunteer with the Army Air Corps. He still speaks fondly of England and the British today.
I've been there 6 times and I've loved every moment there!
Omg jingles was actually in the navy!!! I had not f***ing clue and I've been watching him for like 5 years
nicholas salwei he has had 20 years in the navy
Even with him correcting himself I still got triggered when he called a anson a Lysander
Don't use the word "triggered". It's literally more annoying than the word "literally".
a trick : you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
Fun fact: The Concorde wasn't just practically the only passenger plane to fit afterburners, but it's one of only two planes ever to fit both afterburner and thrust reverser on the same engine, the other being the SAAB 37 Viggen.
Ah, this brings back memories. Before I moved to Canada, I used to live about half an hour from Duxford. My workplace at the A11 rest stop in Little Abington was about 10-15 minutes away. We used to go to the museum at least once a year. I remember walking through that Concorde back when they had it perked out on the taxi-way. Don't think they had the Vulcan back then, but I could be wrong. I do remember seeing the Vulcan flying at the R.A.F Leuchars air show back when my dad was stationed there. So when I was about 10. I can still remember how loud that thing was even 20 years later XD.
Also, shame on you Jingles for not pointing out the Sturmgewehr 44 in the weapons case XD. That gun was an important part of history. It may not have had much of an impact on the war, but it was the worlds first assault rifle, even giving us the name for the class of weapons (Sturmgewehr literaly translates to 'storm rifle', with storm obviously being the 'storm that position' variety, thus, assault rifle).
At 18:20 the sound track becomes overplayed from a different part
yeah that was so funny XD
victor was the last of the tree V-bombers of the V-Force to enter service :)
Went there over the weekend, and it is an amazing day out, so much to see, in fact too much for just one visit! You could spend all day in just one of the hangars, there are SO MANY planes (and other things) to see, and walking through the Concorde was absolutely amazing, one of those things I'll never forget! (Mind your head though, I banged mine twice!)
Duxford probably the best aviation museum in europe . Well worth the visit .
This may be in poor taste, but hey, a lot of jokes are.
Jingles: When was the last time you washed your car Eddie?
Eddie: When did it rain last?
3:00 it's a p-47 not a hellcat -_-
+Roy Shein No, it's a P-47. Look at it, how does it look anything like a Hellcat?
Roy Shein Dude, you said it was a Hellcat in your first post, I don't see one, I see a P-47 in front, a P-40 behind the P-47, and a A-1 Skyraider or something in the back with the folded wings.
Roy Shein That's not an F6F or F4F lol, it's clearly a P-47. Sure, the two are similar in looks, and used basically the same type of engines, but seriously... How can you miss that it's not a Hellcat or Wildcat? Turn on the video annotations, Jingles himself wrote it's a P-47.
Roy Shein I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, I just genuinely don't get how you think it's not a P-47 man.
+Roy Shein I know, it does have 8 guns. The guns closest to the pilot were inserted further back into the wings, making it look like there was only 6 guns. Look at the engine cowling, look how far spaced out the landing gear is, no tail-hook, it's painted in the Operation Overlord invasion stripes, it's just obviously not a carrier aircraft like the F4F Wildcat or F6F Hellcat, it's a P-47 dude!
Compare these images to the view of the guns on the aircraft.

Thoroughly enjoyed this series of videos from you Jingles, thanks
So fun to watch you are all exicted and a enthusiastic speaker about all those aircrafts you showed in the video so nice to watch.
Thank you for sharing it with me.
Jingles, the ZASTAVA pistol is not russian, its serbian
I’m so lucky to live just 10 miles away in Saffron Walden. There’s always some lovely planes that come past
Jingles you have to agree the noise a Vulcan makes when the open the throttle is amazing it's just a awesome plane.
Jingles, you are driving on the wrong side of the road. Oh wait... its England...
England, you so silly...
+jo s we have been driving on the left side for hundreds of years
jo s we've been driving for longer than you, we make the rules!
There is so much wrong with jingles's facts here
Roan Ferguson
Why is a guy who doesn't know his aircraft doing this vid ?
I've been in a historical airplane museum and a modern aviator flight show but I have to admit, playing warthunder and seeing these videos made me appreciate these marvelous pieces of history a lot more. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Great video. As an American who is a lifelong WW2 buff as well as someone who has spent a career in aviation, I would love to visit Duxford. I would like to stay at a B&B in Duxford and be there during the annual air show. It looks like a beautiful place. My uncle was a ball turret gunner on B-24 Liberators out of RAF Shipdahm.
they were rolls royce merlin engines
Soaring tractor your reputation precedes you. This Lancaster is actually a MKX Canadian built Lancaster one of around 500 Canadian built. So how does it feel to be corrected?
The village has not changed because it is located in England. Muslims would be the only notable change.
It's funny because it's true.
Whoa there buddy
Gotta love a guy with such a passion, especially when I share that passion! Go jingles!!! Love ur videos!
Jingles can't wait to see the rest of the museum. Duxford just made my must visit list for when I get over to England.
Thank you Jingles, look forward to more museums
I saw Sally B take off at Duxford a few years ago. There was not a show on, and no announcement that it was taking off. I didn't even think it was airworthy. Walking from hanger to hanger and suddenly all 4 engines spool up. It was great to see her take off.
Thanks Jingles, as a big plane buff i love it when you do this stuff for us.
Jingles I have never really been a huge plane fanatic untill I really started watching your vids now vids like this make me all happy!
I went to this show a few years back and I recommend it to anyone who loves planes, I was fortune enough to see all the planes in the video fly including the red arrows and a euro fighter and OMG it was loud
This brings back memories of my trips to duxford, loved it
i was really sad because of a person being killed in my family , but watching this video made me a bit happier , it was about my favorite things, Jingles , museums , roadtrips and history , thanks jingles for bringing a smile on a sad persons face
Watching your videos never get boring.
That Handley Page Victor has got to be one of the most beautiful aircraft ever. All the "V" bombers were pretty but that thing is just a work of art.
Love it Jingles! Had a B-29 here in Las Vegas a month back. Amazing. Thank you for these videos.
i went to the flying legends last year and i am going back someday. thanks for this nice view of duxford's history
It is nice to see how you love aircraft and see you
Thanks very much for sharing all of these videos, Jingles!
A few years ago, I took part in a study abroad program at the University of Cambridge. One day, I made a quick trip down the M11 to Duxford for a day. Seeing all those beautiful machines was magical and I felt quite a bit like you did judging from this video. You did a great job of capturing all the wonderful history there is to be found at the museum. Nice work!
Thanks again and cheers from the United States!
I've been there and it was really cool seeing all the tanks and planes
my uncle ken was in tears when u showed the Lancaster tail seat had some some memories of it over Dresden thanks m8
I've watched every one of your museum vids and i love them all
Jingles,
Thanks for making this video and sharing it with the youtube community. It is really nice to see someone as cheerful and kind as you giving back to the channel. I know you didn't have to do this but you did anyways. Thousands and thousands of people thank you for it :)
Thank you so much for making these videos for us, what an genius idea to take everybody on trips to museums with Uncle Jingles!
I will visit these museums myself one day.
The Vulcan is insanely loud, I was lucky enough to see the one restored by Vulcan to the Skies at Bruntingthrope taking off when testing my university's Formula Student car. We all stopped and just watched as this thing lit all four after burners and ROARED off down the runway, awesome sight and sounds!
i've been to duxford a few years ago but i was in november so there was no air show and it was raining, but still it was one of the best experiences i ever had
Man Jingles, being near jets is awesome, one of the best experiences ever for me was touching an F-35 Lightning II. I live near a large air force base with a museum. I always love seeing aircraft
Awesome video! Can't wait for part 2.
I absolutely love Duxford and have been there a number of times, but I can't help but feel they nicked that lightening from outside Rochester Airport. My daily commute was livened up by that thing, I MISS YOU LIGHTENING
Thanks Jingles your museum tour videos are great! i'm looking forward for more and specially i'm waiting Tankfest.
Can't wait to see more aircraft.
Look forward to next part, my dad was one of the test flight engineers on Concorde when it was at Fulton and Fairford.
Awesome stuff, looking forward to the rest
thank you jingles for this video and many others like this to come, seeing even just one of the MK I spits just made my day..the MK 2 is my fav i War Thunder shot down 3 B-25s and 2 Yak 9Ts last time I was in her..
Neat, a Lancaster! I got to see a Lancaster recently on the isle of wight as it mad a few passes at low altitude. The noise was insane!!
I instantly like this kind of videos, they're bound to be good.
Thank you, Jingles. You are awesome.
Great video Jingles very educational. I could be mistaken but from time to time here in Toronto Canada there's a Lancaster buzzing around and it just an amazing bit of kit that plane. Cheers.
Jingles, at 05:13 the aircraft behind the spit, its a EMB 312 (Military AT-27) "Tucano", Low-wing tandem-seat single-turboprop basic trainer with counter-insurgency capability developed in Brazil, by Embraer.
We no longer use it for defense in Brazil, only for basic training of flight cadets. the new emb 314 (A-29) replaced it as light fighter. i've piloted many of these and i can say that it is very maneuvarable. looks pretty cool on the RAF colors.
Nice video!
Jingles i love you and your nerdy life. You gave me hope
I remember when I first went to duxford :) One of the best days of my life
fantastic videos jingles
Can`t wait to see the next videos
I share your interests in military aircraft of yesterday and today...If you ever get a chance to come the states, you need to visit the EAA Air Venture in Wisconsin.....A huge display of WWII aircraft that actually fly and you can go up to and touch, talk to the pilots...and even be up close when they start up, taxi, and take off....with sometimes as ,many as 25 P51 Mustangs, B17s, B25s...etc...a few years back, I got to see a British Lancaster...really cool!
I'll be over in the US for Oshkosh next year, hoping we have Vera there!
Enthusiasm overcomes accuracy. Errors beyond number. It is indeed an Avro Anson the Lysander you talk about is suspended immediately above it - painted black - with an access ladder.
The mosquito is a bomber-type converted to target towing - the Shackleton was for maritime patrol and not a bomber and the Victor was the last of the V bombers and not the predecessor of the Vulcan.
And at 12:44 you can't see an aircraft "in person" - you can only see a person in-person.
flying legends day at duxford is one of my fave days of the year :D
loved the vid jingles look forward to the next one
More of these please!
Sally B, that B-17 was on the aviation fair here in the Czech Republic earlier this month! It was a sight for sore eyes, really!
I remember when I saw, and more importantly heard, a Vulcan for the first time at the Blackpool Air Show a few years back. I recall it flying in from behind the crowds and scaring the crap out of everyone. It was the loudest and most terrifying-looking aircraft I've ever seen.
By watching all that beautiful planes, the Tornado is the real beauty for me. Very nice footage, as always! BR from Germany
I like the museum tours, Mighty One! Keep them going!
The lightning near the Torpoint ferry was owned by a guy i used to work for he had it on display outside the workshop it was normally in good condition it could be the one that is now on display at Castle Motors near Liskeard.
Been a long time since I've been there. About 20 years ago I think, was only 10 at the time. Surprised I remember so much of it. Have to admit though, I was there for the tanks!
The Lightening (built and designed by English Electric) was in service until 1990, and you look old enough to have seen a Vulcan fly as they flew until the mid 80s.
Great work once again Jingles! Well edited
thanks m8 the storys
he told today were great that i owe to you
This was really cool to watch. I wish some day I get the chance to visit an airshow, thanks jingles.
Saw those mark 1/2 spitfires and I almost cried... I mean... TWO OF THEM??
Gorgeous planes
Long time I've been there at duxford. My dad used to drive all the way there just to show me the airshow with the spitfires when we were on holiday in England :)
Thank you jingles!!!
Duxford IWM is awesome. I was there at the Jubilee airshow last year and saw the Sally B B-17 and some other cool stuff. Definitely worth a trip if there's an event on.
nice, wish I had the time and money to do this sort of thing, did it every summer as a kid *wistful sigh*
been inside a concorde at East Fortune, not too far away from the "Secret bunker", amazed at the walls of analogue switches that seemed to be all over the cockpit. Just amazing.
Now that you mention it, the likeness is striking! First and Only!
I'm loving these videos keep em' up dude !
Great video, Jingles! If i'm ever to visit Britain, i'll have to make sure to pay this awesome museum a visit!
I can't wait to go there this summer, there's a lot more than I thought there was! great video as well, looking forward to part 2 :)
Thank you so much for this! You are awesome!
I'm going to Duxford for the Flying Legends show. Really looking forward to that.
Oh man im so jealous Jingles...i always wanted to visit the Imperial War Museum but never had the opportunity yet when i was in the UK. Thank you for this great video.
awesome stuff Jingles!
you have no idea how happy i was to see this video recommended on my feed! :DDD
Great stuff! Thanks for making it!
I live in the village where the Memphis belle was based, the Sally B was used in the film hence why it has the markings on only one side, all the shots of the belle are from the same side.
Jingles is the only one who knew we Americans call it the war hawk!!! Thank you jingles!!!!!
