Doesnt matter if it was called a touchdown or incomplete I don't think there was enough to overturn the call in either case. There isn't enough to CONFIRM the call in either case as well. Wild ending
The referees should never have called that a touchdown on the field because the receiver never had possession of the ball. In order for the original call to be overturned, there needs to be indisputable video evidence. In case people don't know the process of a catch, here are the three rules: you have to have control of the ball, maintain full control of the ball throughout the process, and have to survive the ground. I watched the play multiple times, and you can clearly see the ball bouncing around the players, and the receivers never established full control of the ball. Just to make sure we're on the same page, the main argument for this was ball never hit the ground, and therefore VT should be rewarded the touchdown. The bottom line is that the referees should have never ruled it a touchdown on the field because if it had been ruled an incomplete pass in the first place, they wouldn't have overturned it because they're isn’t any indesputible video evidence to over turn the call. It shouldn't have taken ten minutes to make a ruling on the field. It was an incomplete pass.
the thing is YOU can’t clearly tell if he had possesion of the ball 98% people watching can’t tell. i would of been good with whatever they called on the field since it was 50/50 to overturn it just shows bias because there was no definitive look to overturn either call either way unless you want one team to win then overturning it just wasn’t the right thing
Matt there’s a video in my feed from a Colorado RUclipsrs channel called Love and Liberty. He got you on his thumbnail for his video about Deion and Colorado Buffs true haters. Heads up!!!
You can still frame it all you want and pretend like the ball wasn't moving the entire time. They came out and said they ruled incomplete because during the time while the ball was moving in his hands, it's being touched by several people who were out of bounds. The refs blew calls all over the place all night and VT got at least two scores because of refs. One was a Lebron worthy acting on a PI call. They took off a touchdown from Miami for a phantom hold where the DE just fell on his own. Those refs never should've called that hail mary a TD to begin with because that's the only real argument that "the call on the field must stand..."
They would have easily won if they had kicked that field goal instead of faking it. But honestly that hail Mary was a touchdown. How do they overturn that?

I'm a Virginia Tech fan so I thought the 6'5" WR Felton caught it. The ball is usually batted down on those plays but Felton had it in his arms. I'm sure the Miami player was trying to wrestle the ball away the whole time. That fake FG was dumb since they threw it to a slow TE into the rushing Miami players. Pry is an idiot who hired his friends. Tech should at least replace the coordinators but I now wonder if Pry needs to go.
On the fake failed Field Goal. I think you guys are playing the results. If the Fake Field Goal had worked.... You are the same guys who would have said "Ballsy Call!" VT's clock management is the only issue I see with his VT's coach. Great game though!!
VT Choked. As you said, Up 10 and going in for another possible TD they dont even get 3? The Hail Mary was correctly called. The ball was always seen moving all the way down to the ground. Im not sure why you say you can clearly see the VT player with the ball because you can not AND the VT player himself did not act like he caught it in real time. The player acted as if he never really had it scrambling to get the ball after they all hit the ground. I think that is telling. It was only after the refs ruled it a TD then he starts celebrating but he never had that, he knows it, the refs got it right in the review. I think it was a 50/50 ball that nobody caught in the end, incomplete pass. What was more shocking to me was how the ref's called that a TD to begin with. They cant just give a team a TD!?! No way they could see clear control and in bounds established in that back endzone pile up. Bottom line, VT blew it. Again, They had a chance to go up 17 late 3Q and somehow allowed Miami to come back and take the lead. It never should have come down to a hail Mary. VT deserved better and could be 4-1 right now instead they are 2-3. As they say its a game of inches.

On the bright side Miami would be a great draw to play in the playoffs for somebody. It would make my day if they were my first round opponent.
Did you expect anything less? Miami will finish this season not beating a single team that finished in the top 25. The schedule is so weak the ACC had to do this. Just like they saved Louisville several times, with horrible calls, last season. All so FSU would finish the season with a quality win.
I came to conclusion that Vagas has alot to do with sports nowadays... because some plays make you say WHAT ! Even to the commentators, stare at the play clueless on what the refs are doing
MattbDiddyOil&Co, do you think refs are penalizing at an increased rate for player safety? Or do you think it’s due to sports betting. What are the long term effects of this correlation
OK, guys, Miami is the only team in our conference sniffing the top ten. Yes but... Get with the program, we have orders from above. OK,OK, incomplete, ballgame over.
I 💯agree. When you’re ahead leave it alone. But he obviously thought way ahead of time and wasn’t confident that his defense would hold in the 4th long enough. Felt like it was a good opportunity and went for it. Again it is what it is. It’s easy to couch coach on our side. We all do it but have no idea the stupidity that would come out if we were really there coaching a game.
Coaches deciding to go for it on 4th down on situations in the past when a field goal would make more sense is a reason why the "live" bet seems to be always in favor of the "house" rather than the bettor who just needs a simple field goal (Lions playoff game is a good example) to cover.
Idk, I kinda thought it was a TD and it was called a TD on field absolutely no way they had evidence to overturn that call smh. Both coaches horrible decisions and clock management, Cristobal is horrible at in game decisions
Was not a catch get over it. VTech coach should not have tried that fake fg and used better clock management when he had the ball the last 1:45. And nobody saying nothing about the TD takeaway on Miami on that bs holding call the play right before the VTech int.
Vt did a horrible job managing the clock that fake FG in the 3rd was stupid and Miami was a hair close to returning that last VT kick off that gave them good field position
From the back of the endzone camera view it looked incomplete to me. The WR & DB both had their hands on the ball and when they landed, the ball started to move
@@xeverlastingxchaosx9679 It never touched the ground and moving on top of players, but since the MIA player was out and the ball was touching him that makes the play over immediately. Ruling it as incomplete
I been staring at the replays for a few hours now, I know # 9s black gloves with red palms and a white center dot, Miami's gloves are white. I only see 1 man VT # 9 with a catch, reels it in to his stomach, solidly with both arms around the ball, both feet on the ground, touchdown game over, then he gets both cheeks on the ground, still solidly tucked in his stomach, still a touchdown for sure. 1 second or more passes, then you see it wobbly, players wiggling. On the ground. AFTER THE TOUCHDOWN IS DONE! I see clear possession and silly fighting on the ground after the game is OVER!
I don't like either team in this fight but was watching the game because what else is on This is exactly what I saw, I pretty sure a miami player that had went out of bounds in the play was on the bottom of the pile fighting for the ball Once a player goes out of bounds on a play he is out of the play at that point correct? So the ball was stripped in the end zone by an ineligible miami player I think
I saw the touchdown live too! I said he snagged it!!! Holy bleep! People are confusing other people's gloves and arms for the actual ball, the ball is in # 9s stomach under both arms, the Miami white glove is on top of # 9s hand not even touching the ball! He's touching 9s hand! It goes football in 9s stomach, both 9s hands and arms , 1 Miami hand on top of 1 of 9s arms. Nobody else hands are near this ball after it is caught, and tu ked into 9s arms. Now before the ball is caught and reeled in, a different Miami player maybe got a finger grazed by the ball. But it's irrelevant to the catch, possession, and feet in the endzone, and whole body down in the endzone. It was maybe tipped a millimeter by 1 Miami player. Then 9 was basically tackled down by the back side Miami player who only had a hand on top of 9s arms, while 9 possessed the ball. Where is all of this, everybody touched the ball, and it bobbled all the way to the ground clip at? This has to be the worst, and most lazy call I have ever seen in my life. I'm not a VT fan at all BTW, I'm an OU fan. Unless someone can point out exactly who else for sure even touched the ball other than 9s hands, Where is the bobble you're seeing before both feet are down. Or when his whole body is down. There isn't any juggling going on here mid air. There not all playing hot potato. Unless someone can show me exactly what I am missing. Virginia Tech got Robbed, and I'll say it till someone can actually show it. I might have to make a breakdown of this and draw the outlines of each player so people can see it
@@DKSKiyan I don't believe the VT guy that caught the ball was out of bounds But the Miami defender who was out of bounds, that did strip the ball..... Well I think defense is allowed to go out of bounds and come back into play I think offense players are not allowed to step out and come back into play So the Miami player who was out of bounds was allowed to strip the ball from the player who landed in the end zone
i dont know why its called a touchdown in the first place but i agree with the call, definitely the coach lost them the game, miami was GIVING them the game
I was absolutely floored when they overturned it. But then I saw a video that was super up close and it shows the ball loose laying on top of the players, and a Miami player who is out of bounds is touching it. Sad but great call for once
Honest to god I thought they made the right call idk maybe I’m a casual but I think they should have called incomplete to begin with and then tried to overturn it from there not vice versa
At one point I think that VT got robbed of a win on a horrible call, but the other I feel like they deserved to lose bc they kept doing stupid shi to let Miami back into it.

Coaches deciding to go for it on 4th down on situations in the past when a field goal would make more sense is a reason why the "live" bet seems to be always in favor of the "house" rather than the bettor who just needs a simple field goal (Lions playoff game is a good example) to cover.
Pitiful, pitiful reffing ALL SEASON and tonight was just the latest example!!
MattBeDiddy……sometimes you gotta put the baby oil down and make a live reaction video.
Idk, I kinda thought it was a TD and it was called a TD on field absolutely no way they had evidence to overturn that call smh. Both coaches horrible decisions and clock management, Cristobal is horrible at in game decisions
ACC gotta make sure Miami gets to playoff with no issues. Only team they're ok with them losing to is Clemson.
Completely rigged
Was not a catch get over it. VTech coach should not have tried that fake fg and used better clock management when he had the ball the last 1:45. And nobody saying nothing about the TD takeaway on Miami on that bs holding call the play right before the VTech int.
Vt did a horrible job managing the clock that fake FG in the 3rd was stupid and Miami was a hair close to returning that last VT kick off that gave them good field position
From the back of the endzone camera view it looked incomplete to me. The WR & DB both had their hands on the ball and when they landed, the ball started to move
The ball never touched the ground. Did it? I never saw the ball touch the ground. Looked like the ball was moving on pile of players lol
@@xeverlastingxchaosx9679 It never touched the ground and moving on top of players, but since the MIA player was out and the ball was touching him that makes the play over immediately. Ruling it as incomplete
@@DreadzSantana If the ball never touches the ground it can't be ruled incomplete. It's still a live ball as long as it doesn't touch the ground
@@xeverlastingxchaosx9679your incorrect if a player catches the ball out of bounds it’s incomplete.
Don't blame the officiating...If VT is a good team then they wouldn't have to rely on the officiating to decide the game...
I don't like either team in this fight but was watching the game because what else is on
This is exactly what I saw, I pretty sure a miami player that had went out of bounds in the play was on the bottom of the pile fighting for the ball
Once a player goes out of bounds on a play he is out of the play at that point correct?
So the ball was stripped in the end zone by an ineligible miami player I think
@@kd9937when can out of bounds and has ball =dead ball pretty sure
Unless someone can point out exactly who else for sure even touched the ball other than 9s hands,
Where is the bobble you're seeing before both feet are down. Or when his whole body is down.
There isn't any juggling going on here mid air.
There not all playing hot potato.
Unless someone can show me exactly what I am missing.
Virginia Tech got Robbed, and I'll say it till someone can actually show it.
I might have to make a breakdown of this and draw the outlines of each player so people can see it
@@DKSKiyan I don't believe the VT guy that caught the ball was out of bounds
But the Miami defender who was out of bounds, that did strip the ball.....
Well I think defense is allowed to go out of bounds and come back into play
I think offense players are not allowed to step out and come back into play
So the Miami player who was out of bounds was allowed to strip the ball from the player who landed in the end zone
Y’all must be blind. He lost control of the football upon contact with the ground. Stop the crying
Either way, that call was hard to dissect. But the overturn was super strange and felt very ACC😂
I’m not a fan of either team and I never leave comments. But this was horrible and VT really got robbed here
i dont know why its called a touchdown in the first place but i agree with the call, definitely the coach lost them the game, miami was GIVING them the game
Lol, do you really think the people that run CFB now want chaos? Hell no, the days of these massive upsets are over. Rich get richer
OVERRATEDDDDD how u gona let vt do that to you miami is assss like I've been saying
Hey Matt I know your prob not gonna this but man I had a day I caught my gf cheating and seeing your videos helped me
Refs must've had James Phillips on the phone reviewing for damn near 10 minutes
I was absolutely floored when they overturned it. But then I saw a video that was super up close and it shows the ball loose laying on top of the players, and a Miami player who is out of bounds is touching it. Sad but great call for once
Honest to god I thought they made the right call idk maybe I’m a casual but I think they should have called incomplete to begin with and then tried to overturn it from there not vice versa
yall remember the scott frost onside kick against northwestern up 28-17 loololol
It’s definitely close but if a player is out of bounds and touching the ball that nobody has possession of it’s a dead ball at that point.
Mattbetired. The vet player was laying on another vet player who was already out of bounds.
Shouldn’t have been called TD in the first place. Bad calls all game
What's the definition of a catch? There was no catch by VT! Why was a td called so quickly?
A tech player laying out of bounds foot was touching the ball also, not to mention it was never controlled
At one point I think that VT got robbed of a win on a horrible call, but the other I feel like they deserved to lose bc they kept doing stupid shi to let Miami back into it.
There was vid proof in the still shots they showed the ball was moving and rec never had control
🙌🏾
It's one thing to go for it, but i don't get faking the kick. If you wanna go for it and get a td, put your offense on the field, not your damn kicker
Matt had the most accurate take I've seen on that last play. I've s a seen night lmao
You ever see that Allstate commercial where he’s a referee who called the worst game of his life and is running for his life afterwards? 😂
I turned the game off after that dumb decision to go for a fake field goal. I said they are going to lose the game because of it. And the refs gave the game to Miami.
Oh look refball ruined another potential upset this season
As a new subscriber of MattBeDiddy, I hope im able to go to the parties
I totally agree with the analysis of this game set forth by Matt Finebottom.
#mattbebald
You know dame well va tech didn’t have possession of the ball.
I know I'm in the minority but I thought they got it right it looked like the football was still loose and he didnt have control over it.
You just showed the same evidence that the refs reviewed to overturn the touchdown 😂😂😂
It was the ref that called a TD . was no possession from anyone!!
As emotional as you are, it's obvious this dude wanted VT to win.
Matt u said lil thangs kiltem, there was 3 big thangs in my eyes.
"unfortunately you cain't." Matt really is southern 😂
Virginia tech got robbed that was a touchdown
