Facts...I said this the other day when the Sluka news came out. At the same time leaving because the coaching staff couldn't keep up their end of the bargain is alot more reasonable than leaving because you aren't a starter. What if later on down the season the person in front of you gets banged up and you missed your opportunity just because you decide to sit out? I dont think it will hurt the schools especially the powerhouses that stay bringing in the top prospects but it'll definitely hurt those who decide to transfer just bc of the lack of instant gratification.

As a Georgia fan, Bear transferring threw me ALL the way of. He may have not been the “starter” but he was getting meaningful playing time as a freshman at that. And to transfer from Georgia to USC, a team that is known for having shitty defenses is beyond me. But hey, now he’s realizing, maybe the problem wasn’t Georgia and that the problem was him.

As someone born in Pac12 country who watches USC a lot, Bear is extremely overrated and is only transferring now because he’s getting benched for better players in the new USC D. Now that the Trojans have a real Defensive Coordinator, Bear’s been playing much less than last year and USC’s defense is much BETTER than last year. Bear’s transferring to protect his ego, same reason he left UGA originally. I doubt his exit will really affect USC much at all.

I knew he would do this!! 100%..he made it clear he did not like UGAs DL rotation scheme and stated he wanted to play every down. Riley gave him that chance last year at USC and they were an awful bunch. Now it's back to rotation schemes like Kirby had and he's outta there. He was the canary in the coal mine if you closely enough at it - a 5-star bonafide starter willing to change schools just because..

    • @truthyahweh9877
      @truthyahweh9877 14 часов назад

@Lootchaserjay the thing is the nil is making a lot of colleges getting transfers every year. Mizzou has a different team every year. Cu is is that but worse with just being all flash wearing chains trying to be cool winning 4 games. Like 40 or 50 transfers so 80 or 100. It's not just cu it's trickling down everywhere where u ain't making a core. Then where there is a core there already that will win like georgia that won't pay but still have great athletes. It's a circus show unless u got teams like what I hope Nebraska is doing again is get yr redshirt and keep yr guys and they will play next year more and more. This pay for play deal redshirting after yr junior year transfer without a year or half a year wait not getting a contract unless u have a agent I mean it's getting out of control. These kids a lot of them not all they gonna waste they money and not invest and will think they make the nfl or something for sure and it might do more worse than good. I guess we will see. My point with cu is u act a fool flaunt yr diamonds u get more money no matter how many wins u get isn't a standard that should be set

We held them to 13 into the 4th but couldn't put the game away when we had the chance and let them score on their last 2 drives. We shut down with Carolina in the 2nd half. Of course their qb got hurt. We also shut ucla out the 2nd half. The problem is none if them really have great offenses. We're better than last year which isn't saying anything. Idk what happened to dbu. We haven't had a good corner in a while.

Ngl I don’t understand why people are saying this is ruining college football, the players are literally setting themselves up for success whether it be to transfer and get more playing time to get drafted at a higher spot or the money thing. Recruits will always come and transfers will too.

I have zero problem with players jumping ship if the NIL isn't fulfilled OR if they don't get playing time. These Uni's have exploited these young men for decades, making billions. Finally, they have real opportunities to take control of their careers. That's exactly what it is being that they are gunning for the NFL, and even draft placement or round makes a huge difference.

The pendulum will swing the other way soon. If a player can't show any kind of commitment or consistency, then future NIL "employers" will be less reticent to use your likeness/ skills because why would they invest resources in someone they don't know will even be around? Kids'll figure out that if they want to cash in on the system, the best ability is availability.

I'm willing to let the players make their own choices, but maybe we need an age limit to curb what we are beginning to see. Maybe make 23 years old the limit. The age disparity is going to get wider and wider if these guys can play 3 games and sit and come back multiple times. I know there have been guys who went to the military and then came back to play football so maybe make an exception for military service for the few guys who do that.

This was just quitting your teammates for selfishness and it shows that TEAM means nothing to him...imo anyways...there is several MONTHS between seasons for players to figure out what TEAM will benefit them most and deciding MID season that you just don't want to play there now is just ridiculous and hurts the TEAM and the ORGANIZATION you are currently quitting! To me that would be a HUGE red flag if I were looking to aquire said player for a different team. This is just the WRONG way to handle it. Use the off-season to pick your best fit NOT after 3 games INTO the current season. I would NOT want to have to depend on a player that does this ESPECIALLY if I were a player! This is just my opinion for what it's worth!

OK, but if you don't get playing time, you can forget about an NIL deal.. lol So there's the issue. If you are good enough to be recruited by a team but there is considerable depth in front of you and your getting no playing time, leave. Because they aren't going to give you an NIL deal unless you are playing and playing at a high level. Nothing wrong with what this young man wants to do at RB leaving UNLV. Odom is a dumb coach. He ideally wants high level players but wants to spend nothing to get there. 3K a month for 4 football months and nothing else is insulting. It's charity money at a peanuts level for a QB whose led you to 3 convincing wins. That's worth more than 3K a month for four months.

  • @darrell5703

I’m really surprised you have this take on these players being an ex athlete yourself. Why would you waste a year of eligibility? Coaches can up and leave anything they want and people hardly ever say anything negative about that. Yes, they don’t leave for another school mid season but they don’t lose coaching eligibility either. They don’t only have 4 years of coaching eligibility like players do. These guys have to get on the field as much as possible in order to make it to the pros. Also, they need to make as much money as possible while in college because there’s not a guarantee that they will end up being drafted. So I’m all for these players redshirting and transferring if they don’t like their current situation. If they’re just whinny babies and they’re just quitting, word will get around and no prominent schools will want them anyways.

Oh so nil is ruining CFB. Gee who wuda thunk it? The real question is wats gonna happen in a few yrs wen the stands are half empty or totally empty cause fanbases realize their team will never have a chance to win a championship cause the 4-5 teams that just happen to b good wen NIL started are so OP cause all the best highschool players go to those 4-5 and so do all the best transfers every yr. People are gonna get sick and tired of watching the same final 4 every year. Wen people realize their team can never make the final four, they're gonna stop watching the whole season. And the 4-5 teams that are massively OP every yr, you know who you are. I hope those 4-5 fanbases enjoy the next few yrs. Cause wen it all starts getting worse and falling apart, it'll b those 4-5 schools that everyone blames for the destruction of the sport. And I don't wanna hear no bull shit about coaching. It's not good coaching to have more money than everyone so you buy the best players every yr and win everything. Remember this comment cause in 5 yrs wen Alabama or Georgia or Ohio State or one of the other 2 go play a school and can't even earn the money back that they paid to play the school cause hardly anyone showed up cause they knew their school had no chance, that's wen those fanbases are gonna say "I don't get it, why didn't anyone wanna come watch us destroy their college team with our NFL caliber team?" "That's weird?" No, it's old and everyone is tired of the same thing every year.

I think this is just transitional pains. The athletes have choices for the first time in college football. This is about what they are willing to put their bodies through and at what cost. Coaches have been lying in recruiting forever. They got away with it because there was no penalty. I personally blame the coaches who lie to high school children to manipulate them into contracts that are one-sided. If a coach says you'll start day one and they don't start you then the coach is to blame. I just know if a job hired me to be a manager, and when I get there they change my position to crew member. I'm going to find another job.

  • @mrsullivan1709

If you’re not getting the playing time you think you should then maybe you need to evaluate yourself. One of two things is happening. Either you have done something to warrant your lack of time or maybe, just maybe, you’re not as good as you think you are. Could be that you are simply being beat out by the man ahead of you which is easily cured by WORKING HARDER. When you’re on your second or third transfer the most common denominator in those problems, sadly, is YOU. If you have dreams of playing at the next level, coaches want to see talent but they also want to see someone who can be humble and a team player. When it’s all about you they will likely take a pass because you are proving to be a future problem.

Matt, the NIL is in a difficult situation which one could argue negligence for not seeing this ahead of time. Since there’s no union organization such as the NFLPA to represent college athletes the D1 schools and players are going to find themselves in these difficult situations which could have serious ramifications.
Example - the NFLPA covers a range of issues, including player benefits, health/safety, and revenue distribution; players also pay dues, and contribute to a strike/lockout fund. I don’t know if a lot of college players would be interested in doing something like that, not to mention you have players agents taking 4% from you.
There needs to be an organized governing body ASAP. I also think the NIL should only be considered for D1 schools and a realignment that’s similar to the AFC and NFC divisions.
