Thanks for sharing! I had to refresh my memory of this game. Our youth group would play this on Friday nights. It was so much fun and so many memories!

This is a fun game, especially with a big group of players. I've never heard it called nertz, but under the name Peanuts.

    🎵
(Push! Push! Hail to the jester queen and king, Push! Tactic genocide is what we bring,)
It starts with nothing but a hollow deck
Taking all on the trail of a foggy trek
Seven all in a line, quick check
Slowly turning to the other side of madness breaking a neck
So you took the grandmaster of all things
Running first then crawling when the timer dings
It's not over till the choir sings
And there's no sight of that king
    And so we push
Until we sink on the sidelines
Too many aces on the first set, same rhymes
We could be spitting out red, and yet instead we drop
Dead to the solitude inside our heads
Well I'm sorry, there's no space and at your own pace
There'll be no grace, sitting on a master race
We got a queen with no face
Clubs and diamonds out of trace
Yet our mind's threads on the lace and yet we push
    The reckoning! (Push!)
    The beckoning!
Hail to the Jester Queen and King
    Stepping out of line! (Push!)
    Swapping all the time
Tactic genocide is what we bring
    The reckoning! (Push!)
    The beckoning
Hail to the Jester Queen and King
    Stepping out of line! (Push!)
    Swapping all the time
Tactic genocide is what we bring
    Lean, mean and dried
You're all another case left to cry
And if you aren't aware or couldn't care
This is more than a dare
It's a gamble for your flight and fly
So if the seven needs a six, yet the five would never fix
Then you're better off counting all the stones and sticks
Now cry for me, weep for me, harder
    Sanctity and dynasty for martyr
    Push for your patience
For this joker's laughing at your homicidal cadence
There's plenty more left to fall down, all around
But you're uncovering more falsified ground
So if you haven't noticed you're a lost cause
But I can't force your immortal discourse
    You can always keep trying
But you tell yourself you're lying
Yet the light fades from your course and yet you push
    The reckoning! (Push!)
    The beckoning
Hail to the Jester Queen and King
    Stepping out of line! (Push!)
    Swapping all the time
Tactic genocide is what we bring
    The reckoning! (Push!)
    The beckoning
Hail to the Jester Queen and King
    Stepping out of line! (Push!)
    Swapping all the time
Tactic genocide is what we bring
In time your deck's gonna test your fate
Never said you could reallocate yourself
You're stuck in a mine field all in your head
Red and black is engaged till your dead
    Push!
    The reckoning! (Push!)
    The beckoning!
Hail to the Jester Queen and King
    Stepping out of line! (Push!)
    Swapping all the time
Tactic genocide is what we bring
    The reckoning! (Push!)
    The beckoning!
Hail to the Jester Queen and King
    Stepping out of line! (Push!)
    Swapping all the time
Tactic genocide is what we push!
In time your deck will test your fate
    Stepping out of line (Push!)
    Swapping all the time
Tactic genocide is what we bring
You're stuck in a minefield all in your head!
Tactic genocide is what we bring!

8-15-2024. Are you a Cyclops? My comment is here because you said twice, " You have to keep an 'eye.'" I saw your face. You have two 'eyes'. So, what does your other 'eye' supposed to do? You should say, "keep your 'eyes.' But what you say is common place. I just find it queer to hear, "keep your 'eye'.

lol. The idea of keeping one eye on something implies that it should be on your mind but not giving you complete tunnel vision. It’s not literal. There is also a saying, keep your EYES on the PRIZE. This implies a singular focus. Two different sayings with two different meanings.
