    What part of 400% plus more seat sales at more than 100% increase in ticket price do you not understand? My calculations say that the Fever increased ticket revenue from under $5 million last year to well over $40 million this year. Fever has very probably made more profit this year than all the other teams combined and the only major change on the team was Caitlin.
    If the Fever had approximately the same costs this year as last (a good assumption) then the Fever added about $40 million in profits over last year (they could have lost a few million last year). This isn’t incremental. This isn’t a continuation of the past.
    This has never happened before. No other single player (black or white) has moved the needle on seat sales (at home and away) or increased TV viewer numbers like Caitlin. She didn’t build on what had come before. The league has been losing money for all of it’s 27 year history and 2026 (new media contract for $2.2 billion over 11 years) is the year when all the teams, owners and players will profit handsomely. 2024 saw total league revenue of $200 million and I calculate that went up to $290 million this year and will reach $500 million by the end of 2026. Caitlin showed the networks that the WNBA could draw well over a million viewers. Was it a coincidence that this monumental contract was only consummated after Caitlin had played half the season with at least 10 games well over 1 million views? The charter planes that flew the girls to their away games cost the league $25 million. This is $8 million more than the total pay for all 144 players in the league. This could only have been done with the prospect of the extra $200 million a year from the media contract. Caitlin isn’t just the continuation of the past, Caitlin has saved and reset the WNBA into something we have never seen before in women’s basketball.

    I appreciate you Howard for asking the questions the fans have at the beginning of the interview. I really wish Kelly had answered them squarely rather than talking indirectly around the questions.

    Don't hope for luck Kelly. Please check and contact the KneesOverToes guy to train the team with proven exercises to avoid injuries! (And possibly make some of the girls to slam dunk!)

    This is all just talking the reason why every thing changed is Caitlin Clark, she is exciting doing things no one has ever done, made the game fun, watchable. But most importantly she is a great role model.

      Kelly knows that. She is a tremendous diplomat who has many eggs to fry at a time. CC is A-OK and in good hands. CC also operates in complexity and probably has lots of sympathy for Kelly's difficult job.

    The problem with crooked referees must be changed, and it has to come from the coaches to demand fairness. They got away with beating the crap out of CC! We saw the referees standing right in front of it and they wouldn't call the flagrant fouls. The horrible treatment CC receives must stop, the Fever head coach & management must fight for CC or one of these times, someone will seriously injure her out of a job!

    Hopefully, Fever management can convince KM to stay for at least another year, but I doubt it. She's been looking forward to FA for a while now. Even after the changes in management and coaching, she has not given us any inclination she plans to stay. In that case, it would be in the fever best interest to core KM, find out where she wants to go, get dallas invloved, and see if we can get Sabally in return.

    I don't understand why it so hard to give Caitlin Clark credit for the crowds and attention she has brought to the wnba without trying to give credit to a failing, welfare league.

    Howard gave Kelly several easy layups and Kelly shot air balls. She sounded like a lot of Christie Sides or Lin Dunn press conferences. Answers CC questions with Kelsey Mitchell answers. Cannot just give CC credit for anything without adding other players in the same sentence. Apparently Kelly feels the Fever have more than one generational player. News too me. When did Michell become the Fever most important player. I hope she meant most important free agent. Whew!

      @Justkil91 День назад +1

      I dont think its a slight on clark as much as positioning for selling to free agents and mitchell especially as being valued. I think its clear she realizes clark is the most valuable player as she said they were pretty much building around her specifically. I think talking around it is intentional to a degree even if we feel like its a slight on clark.
