    You both are awesome! I’ve loved watching your progress. Since everything hinges on it, It sounds like a workshop for Kylie needs to be at the top of your list!

    "Next three years" sounds like a more realistic schedule for all your projects in the house. During that time you'll have to fit in all your garden work: planting, weeding, picking and preserving. You have your online businesses that help to finance your lifestyles, and from time to time, don't forget to smell the roses and have some fun. For the foreseeable future, there will never be a morning when you say, "I'm bored."

    Work at your own pace, avoid burnout. Make sure you enjoy yourself and do what you want without worries about us, your viewers. We love what you do and are here with you for the long haul. I am very grateful that you choose to share some of your time and life with us.

      Yes that’s true. I agree. Do your stuff at the pace you need to, and do the tasks and projects as it makes sense for you both. This journey is about your life.

    You are so far ahead of me, who has never renovated anything by myself. So I have no advice or directions, only admiration for what you have done so far. Anything new only brings greater admiration. You are both amazing!

    • @avysark2034
      @avysark2034 8 месяцев назад

      My advice - If you intend to start doing things yourself - take your time. Watch some videos to understand better or have someone show you and then learn through errors.
      You will get frustrated at times and pissed off when you have to undo and do something again but you'll never forget it and likely won't repeat the same mistake that lead to whatever upset you.
      People tend to forget that it's the errors that teach you, not immediate success.

    It’s lovely to see you again,and a pleasure to have a look around the rooms we saw you working on last year.What a great house you’ve got there.Your minds must be constantly buzzing with ideas ,plans and possibilities.Your bodies need to continue to be of use to you for the length of your life ,so best not wear them out now.Those of us who like you and watch your videos with interest and wonder,are pleased you are taking arms against the destruction of those useful bodies when you endeavour to make your reality match your vision as quickly as possible. ❤

    Storage room first to get stuff out of the way and not have to keep moving it. Then duct/vent, electrics, and plumbing work that are in the ceiling as you can't do ceilings till that is done. Its much easier and takes far less time to not have to move cabinets or anything else to do ceilings. Just like with painting, work top down. Doing what needs to be done to make your work and access easier to complete the reno is working smarter not harder. You two are doing a great job with a high standard of finish. Kudos!

  • @sashacat53
    @sashacat53 9 месяцев назад +12

    I agree, you need to get your living spaces comfortable for you so it is easier to work on the rest. From what you have said, maybe the bathroom is your first job so you can get the plumbing happening. Good luck. I love watching your progress.

    Congratulations on having a kitchen sink with hot and cold water and a drain! Hooray! I can see your natural inclinations to conquer the renovation warring with your desire to slow down. I know it's hard to find contractors, but if you can manage to hire some work out, like ventilation for instance, I think that will help a great deal.

I am an active get er done type of person, 64, female, and all of a sudden everything seems too much! Thankfully, I have been here before and know what to do and the time it takes to recover. Also, at my age people expect a lot less from you which will help. I really enjoy watching your videos. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

    I don't mean this facetiously, but instead of making temporary furniture because you don't have a workshop, perhaps make a temporary workshop instead? If I understand, the workshop is planned for the outbuilding / carport where the solar panels will go? A temporary workshop needn't be huge, it could even be a wooden shed, like the one I think you previously had a kitchen in. You could even insulate for comfort in the summer and winter for little extra cost! I'm sure you've a good reason you've not done this, but if I were you, I'd be at pains to make furniture in the knowledge I'd have to re-do it again in the future, plus I think it would really help you with the workflow. Love what you're doing though!

    Hi Guys, great to see what has already been achieved and the more realistic plans for this year to allow you some time doing other stuff. Well done!
    BTW: The Belfast Sink is a deep sink which was usually found in the kitchen for general cleaning duties, whilst the Butlers Sink (6 to 9 inches deep) was 'usually' found in or near the Butler's Pantry in big houses and was for the washing of silver and glassware, when each item was precious and had to be washed individually: Glasses hidden by a layer of soapy water invites accidents.

    Huge jobs ahead. Have you considered hiring a gardener/handyman to assist you...may be well worth it. Love from Australia ❤

    we had a listed house with secondary glazing which was also double? It worked really well with sliding large panes that could be lifted out of the frame in the summer and put back in for winter. wooden shutters also make a huge difference both on doors and windows; summer and winter.
