Open ya eyez and try harder, bro. Ozone proposes an 'easier' way to do shit. Not true. You learn their system and use their plugins and you'll be fine. I suppose that's okay, but there's many different ways to skin a cat. I tried fuking around with Ozone methodology thinking this could be an adjunct to what I already do but what I realized is ultimately it's Ozone way or the high way. I get better, more fluid results just doing shit i've been doing all along and simply replace individual plugins with new shit (which comes out all the time) if it tickles my fancy.
The Delta mode shows you what your micro-dynamics are... which I found pretty cool. You can only hear what is being changed/added. Based on what I heard, while using it, I found them to be small little sounds that might get cut off in certain frequencies... seems like it sorts out what gets caught in the mud. #words. LOL
My hot take is that Ozone is great but it's pushed as something for everyone when it isn't. It's a mastering suite condensed into a plugin and meant for pros who know how to use it fast or "very experienced bedroom producers"... so a super restricted pool of users, the latter probably imaginary. I use my DAW stock tools and two third party referencing + metering plugins, so I don't use Ozone, but if I had to master old records or for other people I would get Advanced Ozone. That spectral equalizer thing that can make out keyboards from drums is totally alien and probably a godsend for remasters. RX is also crazy.
It is. They want your mixes to sound like their ideal of what it should sound like. We've had over 30 years of digital recording and there's a whole universe of good shit to use. Ozone is just one of them and to my mind it's a waste of time.
I was using ozone 9 the other day and the eq showed a reduction of 1db on the bass and 1db up in the 16k so I used an eq before it and made those adjustments, ran ozone again and it still showed the exact same eq. One of my plugins isn't working
I wouldn’t say “need” just as no one really “needs” neutron it’s just a convenient nice to have, but if you like the neutron workflow (one plugin for everything + individual modules) then you’ll like ozone, it’s like a cleaner, more subtle version of neutron at the cost of being pretty cpu intensive (most mastering suites are as it takes a lot of juice to process a signal as complex as a master in a transparent and high quality way) As stated above Neutron = general mixing Ozone = mastering I also tend to use the individual ozone modules a lot in mixing, I use the ozone exciter a lot as it’s more subtle and smooth than a lot of traditional exciters and saturation. Hope any of that helps
@@Weaverbeats ah. thank you. i like fabfilter plugs and i regret the few waves plugs i picked up bc of the nasty update model, but either way i kinda need the AI training wheels 😅
Sorry if this is a dumb question guys but I am new to using Ozone since I couldn’t afford it until now and I only bought 9 like less than two weeks ago.. does anyone know if I get the update for free? I’m guessing not because it’s 2022 lol but I genuinely had no idea this thing was coming out like 10 days later. It says in my Izotope product manager that I have a “full trial” of Ozone 10 awaiting my download but that doesn’t sound like an actual upgrade… paid basically the full price for 9 standard. Did I get screwed? Lmao I don’t have time to follow up with all these plug-in companies and figure out exactly when their next version is coming out sometimes
Oh no way thanks man. I had that in the back of my head when I bought 9 because I knew 10 was coming out soon I just didn’t realize it was that soon. I thought I remembered reading that owners of 9 would get the upgrade so I just didn’t think twice. But thank you for the response
I've heard version 10 makes streaming loudness set to exactly -1.0dB easier. I've been using Kilohearts Limiter just before Ozone 9 in my master chain to give me a true -1.0dB. I've been manually setting -14 LUFS with a LUFS meter, but I've still needed to use Loudness Penalty to make sure it was true. I'd say that's a time saver for people who need to do this on a regular basis.
You must love your face dude. But I feel it doesn't cover my screen enough... Can you put that camera closer? Or zoom in to your teeth more? You'll have "more" views! Promise!

Yeh...I stay the fuk away from the Ozone ecosystem for mixes. There are way too many other software to do the same thing that is easier and more direct than the paradigm Ozone wants you to do. This shit is just a waste of drive space and CPU headroom. I would recommend people do the same. you can do better than what Ozone gives you and have more control.

I guarantee you 90% of people who downloaded free Ozone Elements or paid 50 to 150 bucks for Standard never use the thing
You're on a good path, bro. Keep it simple. Keep it light. Ozone is just one way and after messing with it for about a year, decided it's not for me.

Neutron for mixing, Ozone for mastering.
