  • How can the slot fill factor and partial discharge interception voltage of a 800-Volt stator be maximized by trickle varnishing?
bdtronic and VonRoll show in this video how resin chemistry and process-knowledge are affecting the lifetime expectations of next generation e-drive motors in the automotive environment.
The hairpin stators have been trickle-impregnated with different VonRoll resin types at bdtronic’s technology center. To cover the end-winding and to prove a certain level of heat dissipation the technology of end-winding potting in an air bubble free encapsulation process was used.
The stators have then been tested at VonRoll’s e-Drive Laboratory with electrical and thermal test methods to distinguish the influence on the lifetime.
