You guys have such a beautiful and peaceful life. It's a very gentle, nomadic existence that's so refreshing to watch compared to the hectic pace of city life. I love the quaint little towns, villages and countryside cottages you show. Benny's music is the perfect soundtrack for the imagery. I truly wish you both many years of happiness and bliss, and thank you for creating these videos!
Of all things, we , too, love beans! Must be inherited from our ancest0rs. I just had little Old Folks sausages sliced and cooked with bacon and then with beans (called Pork "N" Beans), We know what's good!
Hi Ben and Emily. Well done to Benny for saving the washing from the canal. Emily when you made that tight turn it was really impressive. The Ashby looks like a peaceful canal to cruise along. Take care. Nick
Thanks for identifying the lovely woods of bluebells. I’ll have to plant some bluebells bulbs, Seattle USA climate should be conducive (cool, rainy, overcast with spectacular sunny, dry, pleasantly cool summers)
Atherstone, was the place of a famous hat factory that bounded onto the canal. I think probably the derelict building you filmed. Before the crew mutinyed they enjoyed getting kitted out in the factory shop. And I think there used to be a shop nearby where the old bargees used to buy their Measham tea pots. Ordered on the out journey, collected new on the way back. Great videos, thanks for sharing your journey, PMh
Correct Philip, the old Hat Factory sadly is now derelict & past re-development, so I suppose to be demolished eventually. It was sold to a developer several years ago to be converted to apartments but found to be unviable.
You saved your laundry from the canal Benny? Good for you! I think that makes you a 🦸 hero. Emily nice driving at Marsden Junction! You two tell Alan that Cindy loves her 😍! Love you two too! ❤
Your boating channel is the best on utube for me by far What a lovely way of life Emily is so hands on with everything and Benny your voice is just amazing! Love you guys xx
Alan, always protecting you both from badgers,🐾and doing a darn good job, because we have yet to see a badger 😽 Take good care of yourselves, see you on the next one ~ Hugs, Lacy, Mike & Hamish🙌🏼💕🐶
loved this one for obvious reasons ! the deli was new to me, the Red Lion is my fave. Tracey does a service wash £19 all done for you♡ Burton Hastings church is nice Awww you going to love Shackerstone choo choo! Shenton aquaduct much love you to all
Hi Emily, hi Ben, it was lovely to meet you both at Crick yesterday for a quick chat (apologies to your friends who were kept waiting!). Looking forward to talking guitars with Ben again sometime, I love your music and I'm envious of your talent!
Good work on the DIY to your storage box Benny! I don’t know if you’ve seen the channel ‘boat life’, but they have some handy storage lockers under their solar panels, but still have the ability to tilt them when needed. That might be something for you to look at - you’d be able to knock them up Benny and it would give you extra storage space. They also put grip tape on the gunnels, which might be a good addition once you’ve finished off the painting to make walking around a bit safer!
The bike must have really helped in that long trip! So glad you had it. The ones with little wheels would have been really BAD! Nice, each time I watch your wonderful vlogs, I see something else. Just a treat for me. Yes, we , too, have those "no see ems" mosquitos. SO far, so good, this year. Can't stand those little twerps. ...they fly right into citronella unfazed.
Great episode, my husband introduced me to this series, and we are both hooked..we send each other the episodes via text message all the time if one or the other hasnt seen the episode. Relaxing to watch , love to see what your cooking . ❤ from Iowa USA
I was at Crick boat show today, sat chatting to an older couple who follow you too…and they also like your music Benny! 😉 thanks all for another cracking video and live music. 😌🙏
It seems to me that in the countryside cruising the canals is so so beautiful, and mostly very pleasing to the eye before you hit a city or a town that is mostly ugly and is better to keep your eyes tightly shut................................. We humans seem to bugger seem things up don't we?
Well done Emily on your turn to the Ashby- that is one horrendous turn and most people hit the sides. Its so sharp and so narrow. Loving this as it was our first cruise ever on a hire boat
Another great instalment with all the elements of a quintessential Ben and Emily vlog. The only jarring notes came from the dark, foreboding post-apocalyptic skies. Not sure if it really was that gloomy or if that was a special dystopian Nuneaton Filter. Well done to Alan for earning her Blue Peter Badger Badge.
Amazing to wake up to another beautiful episode! Omg queen swan and her duck Guards!! Love trent lock and belper :) the vegan cafe has the best food!!They are wizards ❤ enjoy the bank holiday weekend folks :) xxx ps the tie dye looks blooming grand xxx
Hi guys. We are from Australia and have been following you on youtube. We are staying in Nottingham for a couple of dys before heading to Isle of Wight. Would love to catch up if you are nearby.
You guys are such fun to watch... Most lovely couple oh and Alan of course... Thank you for sharing your journey through life with us... Love Ben's music flowing along with the video... We are in process of painting our narrowboat.. Yours is looking half good 😂 love and hugs ❤
Thanks you guys from Alabama, USA for all the videos!!! I have been following your vids from the beginning and look forward to each one every weekend. I really appreciate and enjoy Benny"s music however I do wish you could show his shows sometime. I'm not sure if RUclips will allow you to do that but t least throw in a little more of his music along the way!!! Keep up the good work, You two are living out a dream of mine, making the canals your home. That looks like it's so peaceful and enjoyable to me!!! Rub ALLEN'S head for me! LOL
Beautiful areas… sad to see all the rubbish though. When seeing the shopping carts at the CRT, it made me think you should get a fishing magnet and troll behind the boat and see what you find… might not get anywhere though and be stopping every few meters lol.
I know you asked this a while back when you were in Rugeley but that shrimp (assuming nobody else has told you) you encountered was Hemimysis anomala or the Bloody Red Shrimp. It is an invasive species first recorded here in 2004 (I believe). I have only just found about it myself, hence the delay :)
Atherstone looks a lovely town to visit and your nature shots of swans and ducks were superb. I know Trent Lock well, a lovely but busy place especially in the summer. Lovely to hear more of your music. You’re very talented Benny. It was a shame to see so much rubbish by the Ashby, I don’t know how people can spoil the world we share by dumping rubbish! It was a amazing that you didn’t lose more washing when it fell in the canal! Take care and safe travels. xxxx
Hi, Love your content. I have been watching you'll about a month ago and my first impression of you guys was, you remind me of Danni and Joe only to hear that you mention them in a not to long past video... cheerios...oh I'm watching from Trinidad and Tobago..
Hello friends! Can you please to film how Ben plays and sings, I would be glad to see and to listen him (and only me I guess) 🙂Thanks for the video and have a nice weekend. Best wishes from Vilnius, Lithuania.
Congratulations on reaching 20,000 subscribers, well deserved. Love my Sunday mornings with Ben, Emily and Alan always entertaining, aways real. Love Ben's music, stay safe much love from Perth Australia.
Hi, thanks for another wonderful video. I just finished watching all your videos again from the beginning to now and made sure to leave a like on each one. I've been watching since about episode 3 or 4 and it has been fantastic watching you grow more comfortable as filmmakers. Great work.
Oh god we did those locks 2 years ago going the opposite way in the middle of the night. We also went up the ashby canal on my first trip on my boat also at night with no head light so we tried to moor up but i stacked it stepping off the boat and the one thing i remembered was being told not to let go of the rope so i didnt and was being dragged along the tow path slowly on my side. All i could shout was stop! My brother shouted back let go of the rope. Omg what a funny but painful experience. My foot was so swollen the next day but we still couldnt stop laughing every time we spoke about it. 😂
Hi E & B, loving your channel after only discovering you guys at episode 45. I've got a lot of backtracking to do! Thank you for sharing another lovely calming, entertaining and educational film. Cool move with Emily pushing the boat off btw! xx
I love it that you are going up the Ashby. Hope you reach Snarestone Wharf. I think that that spot you found to moor up for the first night on the Ashby was where Emma and Fiona ( Narrowboat Girl) stayed for a long time during the pandemic.
Was great to see you so local to us. You've probably already passed through, but if not Sutton Cheeney Wharf is a nice place to stop, and Perfect for a trip into Market Bosworth,a beautiful place to visit. Lovely cafes too! We live about a mile from Sutton Cheeney, and the stretch of canal is so lovely... look forward to the next video😊
Great video thanks guys. Maybe if you put a link to Benny's songs and offered some to the YT audience it would be good for overall exposure. There are people looking for music like this I guarantee.
Hi Ben and Emily. Dave and Diane on Tickert Boo. Sorry for the slow comment on your latest video. Internet was rather scarce up in the Scottish highlands. We are home now. And so thanks for the mention in that video. Will there be any more of us in the next installment? We had an amazing time. It's been warm and sunny all 12 days. Which has brought out the bloody midgies. Hope you are all ok. I bet the canals are getting busier by the day. We hope our paths cross again one day soon. We are back on TickertBoo in two weeks' time. Love to know where you are now. Don't say on here. You have my email address... Love Dave and Diane xx
We were in Atherstone during the snow, great place to be stuck and we noticed the rubbish on the right hand side too. Love your vlogs, always so entertaining
Let no man put assunder, absolutely beautiful connectioins between both of you and the conection to water, i know me spellings terrible but i knew what i meant
Benny's Top Deck Stage.......(skate deck grip tape, for sure footing while performing) Nice work on the jeans Emily! I wonder what a 1990's stove pipe raver pair might look like? 😁
Hello from sunny and warn Middle Tennessee USA. I really enjoy watching your videos because during my working life I spent some time in the general location you generally are in. Spend several different weeks in Oswestry and Wittington area. cheers Marty
You went through all eleven locks,
Just so you could wash your socks
How nice to see you both possess
Such high regard for cleanliness.
😄 we were committed!
That's fab hodgheg! Are you a hodgepodger?
LITTLE OF THE BEATLES IN THE MUSIC
Ben's music sounds like a cross between Bowie and Neil Young to me. Neither of which are a bad thing!
Thanks Oliver, can't critise those comparisons!
Yeah, a very early Bowie 👍
My god Benny loved your early David Bowie sound, great video yet again.
I always think Bowie too. You need to have a RUclips channel Ben ❤ get your music on there
@Cindy thanks Suzie, I do actually have my own RUclips channel! It's here @bennyjonesmusic
Yellow sneezy stuff is Mustard. I eat it tender leaf in spring. yummmmmmm

Thanks for the comment! So happy you're enjoying following along with our travels 😊 Thank you so much for watching!
Cool music reminiscent of early Neil Young, smooth cruising, beautiful scenery, thank you both 😊
Thank you, so happy you enjoyed the vlog 😊
and a little influence of Harry Nielson
Of all things, we , too, love beans! Must be inherited from our ancest0rs. I just had little Old Folks sausages sliced and cooked with bacon and then with beans (called Pork "N" Beans), We know what's good!

Oh the bluebells! And the music. A treat.❤
Thanks for identifying the lovely woods of bluebells. I’ll have to plant some bluebells bulbs, Seattle USA climate should be conducive (cool, rainy, overcast with spectacular sunny, dry, pleasantly cool summers)

“There’s always a duck to cheer you up” is very true 😂🦆
😆
Bennys music gives me Roy Harper vibes
I checked him out and I agree with Roy's ways 😊

Benny sounds like David Bowie 😊
I was thinking the same .
Take a measure of early Bowie, stir in some Neil Young, add just a pinch of Nick Drake and serve with a dash of the special sauce...
Really enjoyed watching your lovely video. Really hope you are well and having a great Monday. Many thanks from Chris and Jane
Grand on your20000 hit lol on sock washing and overall good vlog all the best to all threee see next time the oldies 😉👋👍🌺
benny fine works that along with the friend that helped made that engine deck dry as a bone , onwards and forwards

The first song reminded me a lot of early 70s Bowie (of whom I'm a massive fan). You make cracking music buddy.
Bless you for the kind words ❤😊

Benny should definitely write a song called Apple pie lane.
That's a good lyric😊
10:35 going to grab a saw and... "sawt" it out? ;)
The Narrow looks awesome great teamwork
Benny's Top Deck Stage.......(skate deck grip tape, for sure footing while performing)
Nice work on the jeans Emily! I wonder what a 1990's stove pipe raver pair might look like? 😁
Haha it will happen one day!! 😄 x
Hello from sunny and warn Middle Tennessee USA. I really enjoy watching your videos because during my working life I spent some time in the general location you generally are in. Spend several different weeks in Oswestry and Wittington area. cheers Marty
Hello in Middle TN. I live in Smyrna.
🎉❤😊
Love the videos, our Saturday treat!
Benny needs to invest in a pair of flying goggles, that would sort the midges out.
Yes david Bowie
Was nice to see you at Crick today! X
