  • 30 percent adoption that took 3 years is not the fastest Windows adoption rate

I don't get the BS and trickery to get us to use something we don't need. I'd still be on Xp if it wasn't for long file names and large file sizes. The Internet, open office and world of war craft. Same programs for the last 20 years. Still run the same speed. Only the OS keeps changing and hence my PC has to also.

They forgot what made them great.
    Near universal hardware support.
    Backwards compatibility.
    User friendly interface.
1 is no more. There's no technical reason 11 couldn't run on the first x64 released but it doesn't. W10 32bit dropped agp support a few years ago. Odd to drop driver support Mid-life. They're existing working drivers. No more.
2 is slipping. They're deprecating older apis and effectively ending compatibility.
3 is getting worse. Simple settings have moved several layers deep when compared to the classic 95/NT interface.

I tried to buy a laptop with windows 10. I was told the sellers are not legally allowed to put Windows 10 on machines that are compatible with 11. So I bought an old machine that is incompatible with win11.
My company still uses win10, thankfully.
After 30 years of using Windows, starting with 3.11, I've started dualbooting with Kubuntu, preparing to ditch Windows entirely. Or at least keep it in a VM, where it can't do too much damage.
Microsoft can survive the immediate aftermath, but the loss of trust and the new bad image will take decades to overcome, if ever. Companies which are hated by their users live on borrowed time.

you are forgetting something while ryzen had still a driver for windows 7 it still caused bluescreens microsoft actively tried to prevent newer hardware from working with older operating systems it is how i got on 10 i wanted to still stay on windows 7 but no luck
why they likely suggested 10 over 11 more often was not because it was worse no windows 11 was originally supposed to be a feature update for windows 10 and people do not realize that the reason why it is 11 is more due to the system requirement what the program is is that microsoft couldn't make a proper upgrade option which is as far as i know still true to this day upgrading to 11 still gives you more bugs then a full from scratch installation of windows 11 but because they got the buggy upgrade they avoid windows 11 like the plague
that said microsoft has made it a plague because they basically are burning down bridges at this point even google now has to step in fixing security flaws within windows 11 basically making it as far as "everything man creates man destroys" and that stage we are starting to experience with windows since they don't give a rats ass if you cannot get into your pc when there is no internet their ideal of the future of pc's is everything in the cloud provided by their servers so they have access at your data 24/7
and that reality has already gone far i mean disconnect your pc from the internet look how much you still can do on a fresh copy of windows how are you going to get programs without internet gaming for the most part already requires you to be online even if it is singleplayer at a point your getting kicked out of the games due to no internet connection because of drm shit the thing is there is no legal route anymore to get everything you need from a pc today if you want things to still work offline piracy is unfortunately the only real solution otherwise your gaming pc is reduced to a office pc wasting away the hardware that is inside
basically when support ends i am moving to linux if i cant get my shit done by using linux it is back to windows but it will never see the internet cable again on my gaming rig which means if linux does not work piracy is my only option and use low wattage pc to daily drive linux for just browsing and pirating stuff which will become the second time i am forced to pirate fun... when i finally had no reason to pirate anymore
