That's pretty cool. Growing them in the shape of a heart is what got me started posting one year ago. Two people coming up with similar stuff on opposite sides of the earth. On top of that, we have the internet to share what we are all learning. I am having a blast!Rock on Friend!
MrDuzee1 Brother... i had no idea that you had done this when this vid was made. I find it amazing.. kindred spirits man !! Absolutely thrilled me met 😊
I really like that soil press test. I actually used Vermiculite as a light cover to get mine started. Worked a treat, but I think for the pots pressing is better...if you don't have to buy vermiculite. I was recycling my spent trays too, so the vermiculite went back through the composting system. Great to see your getting these results Pepe with these methods. Love your work mate Marty
I have a love hate relationship with vermiculite in this scenario. Love it for my starts for my general vege gardens etc. I agree... composting is done. Im bringing it all up in a vid about fertilisers for micro's. Im stoked you think its going okay. Markets on 10 days. Im very nervous. First time jitters.
+Caroline Honse Hi Caroline!! I thank you for watching 😊. Im really glad you liked the pot concept -- as you said , a lot of people only show method for trays. Thanks for your comment!!
I have been growing mine in pots, I don't use a press and it works fine for me. I think the amount of seeds is what makes the difference. I tend to use less. My rocket forms a nice plush carpet every time. If I use a lot of seeds, they will sprout and push each other away from the soil contact. So I think that may be the key.
M8! Im lovin ur channel! Im based a couple of hrs south of u but a very similar climate. Learning some of the intricacies of growing microgreens as well as the legalities will no doubt save me a lot of heartache later on lol. Thx very much for the videos m8, greatly appreciated!
The Hillbilly Homestead Gday mate!! We're almost neighbors ?? Lol.. cooool ! If your every around come say hello 👋. Glad its helping u in some way. Back at this point of time i was a little naive of the regs. There are loopholes m8. Turns out my community loves them grown and sold alive anyway.. If you want to catch up at all.. go to fivesixtyfarms.com.au ..contact me. Have a good day friend 😊
Pepe Fassos Im in Raymond Terrace so about 6 hrs away, basically down the street and around the corner lol. Im hoping to head up ur way in the next few months (havent been to Byron for years so due for a return 😂😂😂). Will keep in contact m8, it would b grouse to catch up and say hi!
Please do so mate....come see the farm. We both live in very beautiful parts of the country. Cheers for making contact. I enjoy making friends with like minded 🤠
Oh I LOVE the heart!!! I hope you won't mind that a few of us will copy that idea 🙃😉looks truly beautiful! Great example on the board vs. no board. Loving your channel! I'm going to have to start recording my adventure on my channel!
Would be honoured if you grew the heart pot 💓. Its very easy. Just make you use varieties that have the same sized seed. This helps make even germination..cress and Amaranth are a good pair 😊
CoreysCave Good Morning Corey my man !! Thank you as always. 😊 I would be honoured if you tried it. If your using it as a gift ---->give it a slight trim when its ready to tidy up the scraggly bits. Doesn't need much off. I just like to define the ❤ as much as i can. Take care mate.
Thanks for watching folks ! I apologise for camera angles and volumes . All my videos are completely filmed and edited on my phone. If you have a question please leave a comment. 😊
Hi Pepe, pots is the best way to keep the regs at bay. Actually Rocket "Arugula" and many others grow better in pots, especially Sorrel,,,because it can be grown as a Baby leaf and harvested for ages. Red Veined Sorrel is my favourite for this one! Cheers Marty
How are ya Marty !!?? Good to see you ! Ive been doing my research hardcore with what the bigger oz greenhouses are doing. They are doing pots. Another mob 'cairns microgreens' as well as 'pocket herbs' ---->all in pots and crushing it. Baby leaf is the pipeline for sure. When we catch up i want to chat about that. Haha..lazer gun is always in my pocket. I try not to burn the plants with it..😃 Thanks mate... thanls for your support.
Hi Pepe, love the videos they are super helpful. Can you tell me what’s your next step after they come out of the humid cover/ germinate? How long do they stay under the humid cover? Do you grow them under lights or in shade house? I’m in Mackay and want to start growing micro greens but worried about the heat and humid, will this be a problem? Thanks.
Cant complain Pepe - well I can but no one takes any notice lol!! Just uncovered my first ever tray of radishes today - looking ok so far! I was thinking about your food regs - if you can sell pots becasue they are "live" you could sell trays as well couldnt you? Chefs might like that with salad mixes for example - cut as they go really fresh!
Good stuff mate. Radish is my new favourite. It cooperates ...😊 and grows well. Absolutely. I am offering trays for a higher price to the chefs. Makes more sense the bulk aspect of it. The pots are seeming to go well with families etc. I give the restaurants a pot for sample then negotiate what they want. Your brain is ticking...i like 😊.
Pepe, you were referring to the food regulation crew, what are the restrictions you have in Australia, can you point me to some site where I can read about those regulations??
Hey there.. Best info is from your local councils food safety standards officer. They are more familiar with local requirements etc ... Australian food safety standards are too difficult to understand for small farms. I highly recommend meeting your local officer 🙏🌱
Great video man. I'm a new grower as well. I'm going to try using a templet, That's a great idea. Just subscribed, Look forward to more of your videos.
Hey Joe ! Thanks man 😃... I hope it all goes well. Microgreens are fun to grow. If you have any questions dont hestitate to ask ! I try to upload at least once a fortnight. 👍..
Hi what do you mean by getting around the regulations etc by growing in pots. I am considering growing in pots and maybe sprouts and either sell sprouts in the jars or in punnets. Are you based in Victoria
Hey mate... No I'm in the Northern Rivers NSW 💪 Selling them living in pots rules out a lot of Food Safety rules. Good for those first getting started or don't have an approved packing area 🙏🌱
Heck yes !!! .. beer o clock !! 😎. Who knows mate ... maybe one day we will cheers a nice cold one. Anything's possible 👍. Thanks buddy for the great comments and support 😀🌱🌱
What is that fan for in the open ? is it for circulation to avoid mold ? Because I grow microgreens in trays and sometimes some plants get mold easily than others. Wheatgrass is the worst. I wonder if adding fan would help blowing mold in the air away
You just answered your own question my friend.. 💪.. Fans are a must for air circulation. It moves humidity away and keeps the environment fresh so mould spores have a harder time setting in to interrupt growing. 🙏
ruclips.net/video/tatd7_dyVNs/видео.html Watch this video and will help . Its helped me a lot with natural organic solution. Also i make sure ventilation is high. Humidity low and temps never exceed 25- 26°Celsius. Not sure what that is in Fahrenheit.
+Annie Tobias Hi Annie. The pots i use are 10.5 cm diameter. They are modiform (can be crushed flat , then reshaped easily). As for depth they are 13cm. 🤠

Your smashing it bro,,you have an awesome product...people will come to know that over time.
Thanks! I glad to see a video that isn't centered on large trays.

I only use my phone as well. I will be trying out a small Bluetooth microphone but I dont intend to add much more than that.
Like yourself i love using the phone. It keeps it real in my opinion. Has a raw and personal touch !!

@@PepeFassos ok thanks for confirming.
Do food regulations in Australia make it hard to sell cut microgreens?
Unfortunately yes... but if you have a nice local food safety standards officer.. it can be easier 😉🙏🌱
“Food regulation crew?” What fresh hell is that? I’m in the US.
Haha... Australia is the king of fresh hell my friend. Nothing is easy 😔
How can you plant so dense without mold issues ?
