    What have I done!?! 😅 I have to know, because it never happened to me before, but how many of you have gotten missing pieces in brand new puzzles, and what did you do about it? 👀🧩

    • @justicierodelaliga
      @justicierodelaliga 11 месяцев назад

      I lost some with Clementoni (not missing but I lost them) and, guess what? They send you a replacement puzzle.
      ...that´s not really helpful. On the one hand you basically have to put the puzzle together again. And then by then, why would you take that piece and put it in the other? So you´ll always have a missing piece for a puzzle.

      I got a puzzle from the dollar store and it was missing a piece, but i did nothing because it was less than 100 pieces and cost $1.25.

    Hi Janette, I love Springbok puzzles. They are made in my state of Kansas in the United States. I love their random cut and size because I get more of the image in each piece. I always start from the inside out because the edge pieces are not easy to identify due to the random piece cut. Sorry you are missing a piece, I feel a little sad when that happens. I had one Cobble Hill missing a piece once, like I mentioned to you on Instagram. Older Springbok puzzles are even better quality. I hope you get a chance to get a busier image in the future so it is more fun to assemble it 😊🧩❤️

    I'm so sorry that you are missing a piece out of this beautiful Springbok puzzle. I do think that the vintage Springbok puzzles of the 1960s and 1970s have exceptional quality. However, I still enjoy selected Springbok puzzles today. A newer one that I particularly enjoyed was the Cottage Lighthouse (1000 pieces).

    Springbok is a good brand, I haven’t had one missing a piece. I don’t like the gloss on them too. I think some of their puzzles are better quality than others. I would rank them below Ravensburger for quality.

    For US brands, most of the 1000+ puzzles have piece sizes similar to european brands. 500 & under can often be larger but not always. It depends on the brand and if it's more of an adult or family/kids puzzle.

    • @janetteandherpuzzles
      @janetteandherpuzzles  7 месяцев назад +1

      I didn't know that! We really just have 4 common brands in Slovenia, and they all have standard sizes pieces, so I didn't even know, that it can be any other way 😅 It does make sense though, especially if it's for kids as well like you said. I guess it opens up more picture/difficulty variations for kids, who like to challenge themselves with a 500 piece puzzle 😁👌🏻

    I've never done a Springbok puzzle but those random shapes look really cool. Quite a challenge though as you can't really shape sort. I'm guessing there's a lot of looking around for a specific shape. Would love to get my hands on one of those really old ones though.

    • @janetteandherpuzzles
      @janetteandherpuzzles  11 месяцев назад +3

      They are very cool, but can also be a bit difficult, if you're not used to them 😅 For me, the most difficult thing was, where there was a small open space, and I though I was looking for a specific shape, and then it was made out of two pieces. So you can't really rely on searching for a shape, but rather just focus on 2 adjacent prongs at the time 😉

    Sunsout is another brand where most of the puzzles have these random shapes. It does make the puzzle much harder. (And I have found most 500 puzzles have larger pieces. Certainly, the 3000-5000 piece Ravenburger puzzles have much smaller pieces)

    You should have done the puzzle eating berries. ;)
    In my case, since moving to Spain, I´ve just done puzzles from Educa, Ravensburger and Clementoni. I particularly love the Panoramic ones from Clementoni.
    I have framed 2 circular ones from Ravensburger of Disney. One has the characters from the Walt Disney movies while the other had the rest. And from Clementoni I have a gorgeous one Panorama of the Disney Villains.
    PS
    I´ll share a strawberries recipe with you if you didn´t know it. Get plenty of strawberries, cut them in pieces and placed them in a bowl. Then add a spoon of vinegar and several spoons of sugar (that depends to your taste). Mix them and wait several minutes. Then enjoy! The vinegar makes the strawberries release all their juices and the sugar (of course) turn them super sweet. It´s really good. I learned it in Spain. Here it´s called "Fresas Lloronas" (Crying Strawberries).
    PS1
    Hang the puzzle in the kitchen once you the missing piece.

      Haha I don't like to eat when I puzzle, as I like to keep my puzzles clean 🤣
      Oh I love Clementoni, but Educa honestly, has disappointed me lately. I have done many of their 500 piece puzzles, and all standard cut pieces are just a no go for me. Like if the image is difficult, the cut won't help you 😬
      I haven't seen those round puzzles yet, but they look nice! I also have the Villains panorama!!! I just bought it a couple of weeks ago!! 🤩😍
      Interesting recipe - we normally just do sugar in Slovenia, but adding vinegar does sound intriguing! I might try this when the strawberry season is back! 🍓
      Haha I love the idea of this puzzle in the kitchen, but it goes against my colour scheme 😂😅

    I was gifted an absolutely beautiful ( and tough) puzzle from New York Puzzle Company. It was missing a piece. I thought it could be my fault so I purchased a second puzzle and it was missing the EXACT SAME PIECE! I contacted the company and they offered to replace the puzzle, but i was afraid the same piece would be missing again. Darn ! I really loved that puzzle, although I don't keep them or frame them. Anyway, they allowed me to return the puzzle and sent a different puzzle of their choice. The second one i returned to Amazon for a refund. BTW... My home economics teacher Mrs Wells showed everyone including me how to make this delicious 😋. I loved them a lot! For strawberries 🍓, I loved them as a jelly, especially strawberry 🍓 shortcakes 🍰. My grammie loved making them from her garden 🪴. It is delicious 😋. If she was around, grammie would give you her recipe. I just couldn’t eat just one shortcake 🍰. It had to be more of them until I was full. Grammie asked me about her creations and I told her that they are delicious 😋 and sweet. Anyways, if the jigsaw puzzle was edible, let me at it!
