Thank you to everyone for your continued support as I solve all of my fun little puzzles 🥰 Make sure to head over to patreon.com/karenpuzzles to see an exclusive video of me solving the Zodiac puzzle!
Does patreon content have close captions for the hearing impaired? Also, I'm not familiar with how patreon content works (beside the membership level fee). Do have to download anything or have a specific type/version on some software? I'm interested but need more info. I would love to try solve that Octagon puzzle if in was in 300 piece count.

Truly there is nothing more pleasant to me than watching someone geek out about their niche hobby. It reminds me how diverse we all are in our interests and is delightful
This design of puzzle isn't really what I look for when I go puzzle shopping, but it's VERY difficult not to get excited when Karen gets excited for a octagon puzzle!
The same day you posted the video about bidding on and picking up this puzzle, I found it at a thrift store! I finished mine this week and I was so excited that it had all the pieces! I loved watching your solve because we had different approaches. You worked mostly from the center out, and I went mostly outside in. I sorted way more at the beginning, but it didn't end up being that helpful. By the way, beautiful timing of the music with the placement of the last piece - I got emotional! Also, octagon. :)
I would love to know if any of this person's (estate) family sees this video and realizes how much passion is involved in even one piece of their relative's collection. Thank You Karen for making such a beautiful video with the history and passion you have to share with us. LOVE this octogon puzzle!!!
I truly hope they do get to see how much it meant to a complete stranger, especially since their loved one clearly took very good care of this puzzle ❤️
I hope you don’t find this too morbid, but I genuinely hope that one day someone is as excited to find this octagon puzzle in your collection as you were.
I always tell my family that when I die, they better give all my stuff to people who can actually use it, or really want it. I find it so stupid to hold onto things your loved ones had when they are things you don't like and will never use, just because they were THEIRS. Give it to someone who would be stoked to have it! (I also pick up tons of old books at thrift shops, and I love all the handwritten notes in the margins from previous owners. Not novels, but recipe books and such. I always just hope that if there is an afterlife, they'll be happy to know that someone else was excited to put those things to use!)
When I put together a vintage or pre-owned puzzle I don’t get too upset if a piece or two is missing. But I hate having a piece missing from a new puzzle!
Amazing that this octagon puzzle is complete and in such fabulous condition. You can really see how good the piece quality is from the close up shots. I’d love to try a springbok puzzle, but haven’t come across any in the uk yet😢❤
i can't believe what you did with that title. I was expecting such a different video than what it turned out to be. Great job keeping us hooked until the end looking for that missing piece. By the way, that animation of the puzzle tearing down and rebuilding followed by the octagon lid coming on top to complete the sequence, well done! It's little touches like that really add to the spice of the video.
That final montage stop motion was amazing. It must have taken forever to edit, but it looked cool as heck. And how amazing was the artist Claudia Carrel. I'm very glad you did a spotlight on her career and shared some of her other amazing art works with us.
The way you filmed and edited this was really beautiful. So cool to hear about the history and your adventure in acquiring it! I’ve never done an octagon-shaped puzzle before and it was super interesting to see all of the interesting shapes of the pieces fit together.
That Prismatic octagon puzzle is just gorgeous. I love how the overlapping colors give the illusion of depth and transparency. It looks harder than you made it out to be, but I would definitely like to try it.
Your close up photography of placing the pieces is so beautifully done! You can literally feel your enjoyment through the screen with each gentle placement! Kudos to your puzzling and your attention to photographic detail! 👍 Octagon
I loved watching this video, so satisfying with all the different clips showing of the puzzle and puzzling ❤ And the “do you now…” parts made it feel like a lazy Sunday afternoon just puzzling away with a friend and talking about the best thing ever -puzzles 🥰
Someone in my puzzle group on Facebook just posted a vintage Springbok octagon puzzle of baskets of fruit. I was very intrigued, then saw this video and became moreso. I want an octagon puzzle so bad now lol.
How you figure things out and finish it relatively fast, is amazing. If I had the chance, I probably do this one for whole week 😅 I like the cutting of this puzzle pieces, very challenging and definitely not boring.
The pieces have such a beautiful glossy finish, maybe a bit tricky when solving, but great to look at. And the cardboard looks delightful, thick and sturdy.
Octagon! How wonderful that there were no missing pieces! 😆and I agree with you that the lady who owned the puzzles was very careful with them - Thank you, Puzzle Lady, whoever you are! 😊
I love watching you put together this octagon puzzle! The colors and pattern are so cheerful and I’m really impressed at how good a condition the puzzle is in considering its age. It was so interesting to learn a bit more about the artist behind the original painting too!
It might be nerdy to watch you channel but I'm learning so much from you about puzzles and the whole hobby, it's incredible. I'm a casual puzzler and I'm living the dream viciously through your videos 😂
Amazing art! Solving this kind of old, beautiful puzzle would be so much fun... I like to paint, and just this week i saw this octagon shaped canvas in a store... this is giving me ideas
I love this puzzle! The colours are so bright and fun and I totally agree with you, it looks so modern even if it was made 50 years ago! I thought the same thing when you spoke about the artist' show in the 1960s for her pop-art work, the fashion must have been crazy and I would have loved to see what the whole event looked like! I'm looking forward to the sorts for the butterfly puzzle, another pretty one!
I wouldn’t make this puzzle because it will try to twist my eyes all the time. You have the fun and let me have the enjoyment of seeing you puzzling that one. Happy weekend!
Having finally experienced a vintage Springbok for myself makes this video even more satisfying. Their thick pieces are so satisfying to put together!! They are kindof hard to take back apart though, mine came with clumps still assembled too and I kinda understand why 😂 i think i would try an octagon puzzle but this design might be a little too out of my league at the moment 😅🧩
Octagon. I watched from Queensland Australia. Thank you for inspiring me to puzzle again. I work in a high stress environment so my puzzling is my down time. Thank you Karen
This Octagon Puzzle was fascinating. I had the sense when you opened the box and there were still sections put together that the first person to work it, worked it only once and lovingly put it away. The quality of the pieces and the lack of wear on the pieces seem to confirm my sense. As a child in the 1960s, I used to do many Springbok circular puzzles -- but I did them many, many times and the pieces showed it.
Hey Karen! I used to love your DIY videos. Have you ever thought about doing a DIY video on here with ideas to fix up/reinforce an old or ripped puzzle box, or even make one of your own? Would love to see it! Keep puzzling!
I would LOVE to try any of these puzzles. I haven't had a pleasure of doing a Springbok puzzle yet, as they are not as common in the UK, but they look beautiful. The OCTAGON shape is so fun! Heading to Patreon now to see the other video :D
What if your estate sale was Claudia’s house?? I had that idea when you were talking about her. She’d be so proud to see how much you loved her work and how highly you rated it. I know that’s a lot about Springbok, but it’s also about the artwork itself! How many other octagon puzzles are out there? Is that what Claudia did primarily when it came to puzzles?
I actually know the name of the woman who lived there, so it's definitely not Claudia, but maybe they knew each other? Or maybe she was just a big fan of pop art puzzles.
I have the springbok puzzle "riders in the woods" hard to find. Putting it together this winter. I also have a vintage puzzle from the 30's that slide together..it was my grandparents

Why not? Art is collectible so why not puzzles. Especially rare puzzle that you can play with and solve.
