Leasehold cannot change to Freehold. You can only extend the lease, with head landlord's consent. Extension of leases are quite expensive too. So if you buy a flat with a lease, make sure it has a long lease, say 85 years and above, the longer the better.

移民英國三十多年，住了三十多年bungalow, 完全贊同鬆仔所講，但Retirement house 就缺點多多( 全屬個人看法)，首要是買後還要每月交管理費，但維修方面有部分仍要由屋主負責，還有條款多多，升值力也不大，现在很多二手及新的也賣不出
