1961 is not the first year. 1961 was the first year the Hummingbird was advertised in the catalogue, but a few were built in 1960. I have a 1960 myself, though, not in the same condition as this one. What a beautiful guitar!

I’d be interested in your opinion and general experience on these 60s adjustable bridges. (once played a J160e which also had a lam top; the adjustability was not really needed, the sound was ‚weaker‘ as ‚usual‘, i suspected that bridge concept to dampen the sonics, not the top... what’s ur observation there w all-solids?)

Isn't this supposed to be a video showcasing a 1961 Gibson Hummingbird? Why is she pretending she's trying out for American Idol or going on to Ellen. Please play that guitar so customers wanna buy it not some random singer showing off her vocal talents.
Well, the hummingbird is supposed to be a guitar that complements a singers voice. So I say put that guitar with a pretty voice, and let them both shine.

Thank you! Finally someone telling it like it is! The emperor has no clothes! I realize that music is purely subjective, but you and I both know that her voice is nothing great. She has to sing all her songs in a lower key to accommodate her limited vocal range. And even then she has to alter her voice unnaturally in the lower pitches to hit those notes on key. She's mediocre at best.

Music is purely subjective, I realize, but listen to how she has to alter her voice unnaturally for the lower notes in order to hit them on key. She doesn't enunciate the lyrics that is natural to her voice because she's trying to hit the notes on key but, in order to do that, she has to open her esophagus up more so than necessary to stay on key. Other passages are very "breathy", which is a way to hit notes on key that isn't natural to her vocal ability. She also has to lower the key of the songs by modulating the chords and use a capo. She's mediocre at best.
@James Meaux dude, Chris isaak* hasn’t made a hit since the 90s and definitely has no relevancy in today’s music, his biggest talent right now is this girl and her singing ability is honestly bad. Just because a big name co-signs a person doesn’t mean they’re good, if anything she has a cute face and can play the guitar that alone is good advertisement which brings in money. To think he signed her for her voice and not bc she’s from a television show would mean you’re absolutely crazy.
