favorite moment in the finale was the whole sequence of Harvey sacrificing himself to protect Babs, then Batman confronting Flass up until that final shot of Batman on the roof with the lightning after he threw a batarang at Thorne. That BTAS homage is *chef's kiss*! I hope they produce at least 2 more seasons of this!
Yeah normally hes a good guy and the scarring brings out his dark side. Here, he was crooked before. So the beautiful face of prideful evil was kept in kept in check by giving him an disfigured face of humility and goodness.
I think my favorite thing they did with this two-face is have his scarred side represent the good, while the normal Harvey is the sadistic side. I just feel like it really worked with this show and his design.
This season-long Harvey Dent/Two Face story arc was really great and one of the better interpretations of the character imo. Can't wait for a second season!
I held my breath watching Batman pick up the gun and pointed it at Flass and gunshots were fired. I was wondering if he was going to the roots of the first appearance of him where he used guns and had no qualms in killing, but he didn't. Flass is a major piece of s***, and I'm glad he got that smug grin off his face when he was held at gunpoint. If he was killed, no one will remember him, since he lives, no one will let him forget it and he's not going to forget this.
Season 2: Definitely Harley vs. Joker, intro of Poison Ivy & Mr. Freeze, return of Catwoman & Lady Penguin and probably make Scarecrow or the Riddler the season-long antagonist like Two Face was this season 🤔🙏🏾🤩👍🏾👌🏾 Great rewatching this series w/you Hombres 🫡
@@MrStGeorgeIllawarra yup she can lay low as long as the show needs her to, honestly she might be used to help catch him. If they make him sneaky and clever like some jack the ripper type then well she did make a plan that worked to lure the Batman
"He's not gonna be in Rush Hour 3" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I chocked on my popcorn laughing. The amount of times I say that internally watching a character die on TV/movies and to hear it from you guys too. Perfect
- I'm wondering if this episode was trying to suggest that Batman's friendship with Harvey was of a more performative nature, using "Bruce" as a way to get close to the D.A., but that he accidentally became friends with the guy in spite of himself? - This is a very cool, back to formula Batman show. Not gonna rank it, because it's awesome in its own ways, like most of the other shows are awesome in theres. I do hope they dive into the original comics though; from the little I read, the Joker was a REAL f**ked up character in those old black & white comics. And forcing someone to laugh against their will until they can't breathe anymore & just die is a pretty horrific way to go. Especially if he did it one person at a time.
I like the fact that characters die in this. It's a great change from the original series where they'd get locked up only to show up again later, over and over.
The homages we've gotten from this series from J.L.U to now the opening of Batman Beyond... it is glorious!! I wish Bill Finger, Jerry Robinson & Kevin Conroy could watch this and experience it.
@@Wolfwilla21 definitely joker of course, but others I could see for this show specifically are Mad Hatter The Riddler Killer Croc again Tiger Shark Professor Pyg
This was by far my favorite depiction of two face in animation or live action. I also love that the series is really giving Batman character development. Usually a lot of what makes Batman the dark knight is generally established, but in this series, he really is early on in his crime fighting journey. His gear is basics of batarangs and grappling hook/ bolo gun. We also see the evolution of his relationship with Alfred, with Barbara, and all the other side characters. At first I felt like the show wasn't focusing on Batman enough, but as the show progressed, we see how important it was to the story. This really is a great series.
Episode 1: This show isn't what I expected and I'm not certain how I feel about it. Episode 10: This show isn't what I expected and I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY ABOUT IT. Season 2 prediction? Given the era aesthetic and overall vibe, plus that end scene sneak peak, I want this show to finally put some respect on the name of one of the greatest villains of our time... .. .. the CONDIMENT KING. Calling it right now, we're going to get emotional when he tries and fails to be the anti-hero we all deserve and takes a bullet for the commish.
I get the feeling that we might get some type of redemption story for Harvey Bullock in season 2. I think what Two-Face said here will stick with him, and I think he was right. I wouldn't be surprised if Flass tries to throw him under the bus in season 2. Plus, does anyone else think that Bruce acts so much like Damian in the comics did. It is an interesting parallel. It would make sense that the son would act like the father when he was younger.
this is the best depiction I've ever seen of Two-Face outside of the comics. The paranoia, the persona, the brutality, and the voice acting is just icing on the cake. This was fantastic. And the finale with the gun? That gave me goosebumps. I legitimately thought after watching these episodes, that he may have actually went for the kill shot. I want so much more of this series. I really want to see what Matt, J.J. and all the amazing writers they got to contribute to this series, Bruce Timm included do with other characters like Dick, Joker, Ivy, Black Mask, Freeze. Actually excited for what might come in the future. Y'all mentioned the freedom that comes with animation, and the endless creative possibilities. I love live action movies, and the cinematic experience, but there are so many great animated movies and shows... and 2024 have showed that they are just as accepted and great with shows like Caped Crusader and X-Men 97. These are stories for comic fans, and I hope DC and Marvel sees the potential in continuing with amazing animation opportunities. I'm here for it.
Incredible season. The style, the stories, the characters, all so good. Felt sorry for Harvey at the end but loved how his death pushes Bruce's story forward and changes him so we get the Alfred moment. Loved it
Why isn’t this showed being talked about more? Heroes Reforged is the only page I’ve seen actually talk and react to it. Is it because it’s not Marvel smh?
I was shocked to see Batman picked up the gun. I did not expect that even though he didn't kill the cop. The fact Batman pulled the trigger is another level on its own. That's a tactic of intimidation. I think because this cop is courrpet to the core, he felt he needed to push the envelope to another level. In his mind, Batman's he took Harvey debt death personally. The ending is of Batman staring down Throne is 🔥🔥🔥
i don't know if you guys have listened to the DC scripted podcasts before but i think they're pretty cooool. anyway Barbara's relationship with Two-Face in this episode reminds me a lot of her closely working with Riddler in Batman Unburied and Riddler Secrets in the Dark
Do you think they’re going to backpedal in the next season and show that Harvey is actually in a coma just so that they can leave the door open if they do want him to return? Don’t get me wrong if this is truly how they end his character I’m content with it, but part of me would also like to see him actually using the scarred coin and being a major player in the Gotham underworld. Maybe in the same way that he was portrayed in the Harleen books where he’s less of a gangster and more of a violent vigilante with his own task force.

When did Batman add the arm spikes to his suit? I can’t really recall the classic outfit outside of The Brave and the Bold. He wore this design in his early career before updating it. Wonder if he’ll get an upgrade while keeping with the traditional comic look. He could use those arm spikes.
Loved the series. Hoping they'll do more. This episode had so many flashes of TDK, which I loved. They might originally be from the source material I don't know, like the restaurant scene and the scene at the bar. Very similar to scenes from TDK.
Random question : how do you guys fight the urge to respond to commenters that call everything woke or say that it’s gonna flop? Like do you ever just wanna call everyone out that does it?
Letting them scream into the void is much more satisfying then interacting with them. We know we wont change their minds so we don't give them any power here.
So, no recognition that Harvey's acceptance speech dream is a direct homage to Charles Foster Kane's famous political speech scene in Citizen Kane? Sigh.
I liked everything but the Joker reveal at the end. It felt lazy and misplaced. It was pandering in a show that up until then avoided playing that game. Even the animation seemed cheaper, like the whole scene was added at the last minute by corporate demand. Batman was doing better without the Joker.
What was your favorite moment from the finale and the entire season?
