Hey hey. Wazzup guys. Ice is back on the road. Nothing goes without complications, but hes back on the road. YEA! Lets see how ya get on with this trans.
For someone who doesn’t know what they are doing. You are doing a very good and professional job my friend you can never be too careful when you are messing with a automatic transmission. Bravo job very well done 👍 it shows that you self teach yourself sign of a good mechanic
Great job and great video. No way I would have attempted to do that. At beginning of video, looked like Little Bit had gotten out of bed. What a cutie pie.
I can't express how much I enjoy your videos! Your passion for restoration is evident in every step of the process, and the end results are always breathtaking. Keep inspiring us
As a 65 yr old man your not 20 anymore things might go a little better if you quit working on the floor . It's a lot easier on your back & knees . Maybe you wont get so flustered . Just a thought . Good Show
Hey brother another awesome video I understand about being busy like I said before I respect how you do things with out the stuff like vgg and junkyard digs I really enjoy your videos
Good job on the transmission. First new car was 63 Falcon 6cyl/Fordomatic. In the family for 17 years with no drivetrain or suspension probs. Added a drain plug to transmission pan and replaced fluid when needed. My Falcon made some long trips. It survived city traffic in Atlanta and one winter in NY. With the 6 the stock Falcon will peak at 80-85 on a straight open road. That is all. It is a light car so should consider suspension and brake upgrades if you make it faster. Falcon bodies are very rust resistant. Original finish lasted a long time with a good wax job every year.
No way would I be brave enough to tackle that slush box...I barely had enough patience to build manual...good stuff Garth, shadetree mechanic approved...
Great job always good content I like working on my own vehicles when I can transmission hell no unless I could learn to install shift kits had alot of classic cars when I was younger and new good mechanics that could change and set rear gears and install a full competition B and M shift kit nest best thing to a rock crusher four speed would love to have either one now always enjoy thanks
I have rebuilt a number of transmissions Will tell you this every time I did not use every thing in the kit it bit me in the ass It was not very long and I was redoing that transmission after I paid to re do a few I started doing complete rebuilds it stops the weakest link theory when u replace just whats worn you cause another part to now be the new weakest link
Its like a kinda majic act, like i was expecting ya to join the rings together...TA DA!!! and for my next trick ladys and gentlemen. 😆 I shouldn't laugh. That kinda thing is frustrating at tge best of times. Fair play garth.👍
That Sporty should be a fun project. I don't know what year that thing is, but if she'd like a bit more power on it, going from the stock 8.5 : 1 to 10.25 : 1 compression, putting an Andrews V8 (or compatible lift and duration, depending on its year) cam, with S&S Super E can really wake those things up. What's next for Millie ?? Interior work? Also, Holy Cow, Li'l Bit is growing up way fast!
Glad you're back my 54 ford crestline had a fordomatic had it rebuilt twice by 2 different transmission shops both who were very reliable shops and neither one lasted more than a couple hundred miles each i finally found a parts car and swapped mine to a 3speed and now its a 5speed hope you have better luck. What's up with the LTD for that boy
I worked in a transmission shop when I was younger and I was taught take it all out in order and back in the the way it came out. I had problems in the beginning so I learned on my own just take pictures like with drum brakes when first learned. Needless to say I was allergic to the transmission fluid so it didn't last long
Maybe I'm wrong but that looked like a half done job to me seems to me that you would automatically go through it from end to end to do a good job I mean wouldn't that be the right way to do it?
Yo bro next time use a socket to tap in seals, using a hammer only ruins the seal.. I know we're not professionals but I know you know better than that..🤔😱🤯
@@garthsgraveyardgarage I aquired a 63 Falcon with a 170 cui six and the two speed auto. It took forever to reach hiway speeds. The only redeemable quality was that it was miserly on gas.
Great job. You can be proud to have got that thing back together and have it work so well.

Your daughter really looks up to you and is a daddy's girl hanging out with you and trying to help in her own way.
She definitely loves to jump in and help when she can!

We're about to tackle it again.

I'm with you on transmissions, front wheel drive engines all suck ,❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless y'all and your critters
nice job! What about a dark purple for that bike with smoke flames?
How did I miss this one?
Why didn't you film fixing Iceman's truck that would have been great to watch
We would have had to do some serious censoring and all you would hear was beeps, or uncensored would probably have gotten us kicked off RUclips!
Maybe I'm wrong but that looked like a half done job to me seems to me that you would automatically go through it from end to end to do a good job I mean wouldn't that be the right way to do it?
Personal preference I guess, but I was told on these old 2 speeds you can just repair what's broken, so that's what I did.
My friend you should always take pictures and use Google.. What I love about Google it shows pictures and videos you can't get better than that..👏👍👌
Watch your video of you taking it apart. Should give you a good idea of how things came apart
👍👍
Well well now that you work on it it's not going to work having fun with you let's see if it worked❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think I'll be doing an automatic anytime soon, Interesting though.
Shear curiousity (I am the cat that was killed😂) what does Iceman do for a living?
Metal scrap recycling
Flat and round😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
As A mechanic who has done numerous auto transmissions, this was extremally painfully to watch.
My first time, so give me a break.
Yo bro next time use a socket to tap in seals, using a hammer only ruins the seal.. I know we're not professionals but I know you know better than that..🤔😱🤯
I normally do, but it worked just fine.
Just keep plugin away
U didnt say what u selling the van for, always give ur subscribers first chance
Haven't decided on a price yet.
Why would anyone want to rebuild that lousy air-cooled two speed Fordomatic trans ? Best relpace it with a three speed (C-3, C-4) or a standard trans.
Because it's easy and original. Personal preference.
