Get well mate, good luck to both u and Charlie in the bowls, bit of light at the end of the tunnel, better now than getting sick when travelling! See you dont need to worry about the Aussie insects, no lyme disease in Australia, our ticks just cause paralysis.
Actually there are many many people in Australia who claim to have long lasting 'Lyme like' disease from a tick bite here is Oz. It is just that the authorities refuse to recognise it and these patients have a terrible time getting the right treatment. Many have to send their bloods off shore to get the blood tested to get the help they need. There was an excellent SBS ' Insight ' program on this very problem.
You're really having a bad time aren't you? Keep taking are of yourself and don't overdo things. Good luck with bowls, hope you and Charlie win your games. ❤
I’m thirty seconds in and as soon as I saw Symbicort I knew exactly what that’s like. That an easy one to fix with nilstat. As for lymes. That one isn’t an easy fix however the sooner you’re diagnosed with it the better off you are.
I'm so glad you'll be ok. I too was beginning to wonder where you have been? Rest up and get well and we'll see you and Charlie here in Australia soon. 🙂❤
Oh geez 🙄 I hope you get better soon.. I thought of you last night and I checked and saw your post that you weren’t well. Stay well hydrated and my thoughts are with you and Charlie. Drink through a straw warm soup ect . There’s a lot of ticks around especially in north QLD .. they are horrible things. Stay safe ✌️♥️🇦🇺
Sorry to hear you’ve been in the wars. I had noticed there were no videos from you showing up but I thought it was my algorithm going screwy again. Hope you start to feel much better really quickly. With the makeup on the lesions idea, be really careful. If they are scabbing and/or rough (I couldn’t quite see) it will be really difficult to get the makeup off afterwards which will either lead to the scabs being pulled off prematurely and it taking longer to heal overall, or you’ll be left with lighter spots on the lesion which will look even worse. Standing under the shower without rubbing it will get the makeup off but it’ll take a couple of days. I had school sores when I was about 13-14 and makeup definitely made it worse. It didn’t help that I’m unable to put my face in the running water in the shower! Anyway, if you decide you want to do it get Charlie to help and select something that will be easier to get off. It might have less coverage than heavy concealer and foundation, but it’ll be better. It’s actually not as bad as you think though because the beard disguises it. You really only notice it up close. When you sat back in the chair I couldn’t see it at all.
Hi Rob I hope you get better soon maybe the hot weather you have had in the UK made the ticks more aggressive, take it easy for now we can wait for the videos
*FYI: Try a bicarb soda paste using bicarb soda and water; paint it on with a cotton bud/cotton tip. Leave for a few minutes, then rinse.* It was the only thing that really helped when I got an ulcer under my tongue from a tooth which had a bit of broken off edge. Couldn't even swallow spit, it hurt so much. So can only imagine what you're going through. Watch your hydration levels.
Been so worried, Rob. I feared that something was seriously wrong, being as unwell as you've been is bad, but not as bad as I feared, thank goodness. I hope you will be back to 100% soon, so you can come and enjoy Australia. 🤗
I checked every day for you videos and was extremely concerned because you hadn’t uploaded anything ... so I figured something was wrong ... I hope you’re feeling better very soon ... good luck with the bowls finals.
By golly Rob So good to know your doing okay, thank goodness . And thank you for posting up the video. but not good to find out, it’s from an illness, although taking the time to rest and restore best to do. Good tidings on your up coming Bowls games.
Was thrilled to get the notification for a video... was hoping things were sorted. So sorry to hear that's not entirely true. You certainly have had a rough time of it but it is great to see you nonetheless. Rest up as much as possible mate and good luck with the tournament on the weekend x
Damn mate sorry too hear this, I do hope you are on the other side of feeling like hell. Mind you if your going to do something do it BIG and you did. Keep Safe Keep STRONG My Friend 🦘🦘🦘🦘😵🤮😷😢😮
I was sickies all last week and sucks I feel ya man!! Mine was an allergic reaction to something I don't know. But no sleep, hot and cold sweats and puffy face. But all good now and you will be too, rest up!
Oh Rob! I hate my steroid preventative inhaler too! I have to rinse so thoroughly afterwards or I get tongue ulcers. For some reason doing yoga every week cleared up my asthma after a few months. I have to keep going to yoga or eventually the asthma comes back. Love living without the steroid inhaler tho. So so sorry about the Lyme disease. Hopefully you'll just have the acute symptoms, and not get left with Post Exertional Malaise in the long term. Here's to healing up well!
Sorry to hear you’ve had a tough 10 days or so. Sounds like you’re on the mend fortunately. Just one question- how come you’re not having the blood test till next week? Are you putting it off? A full BT will give you all you need to know about your health. All the best with it and take care.
FYI: Reactions to antibiotics can also cause oral thrush. Try baking soda/bicarb soda on any sore areas in your mouth. Make a thick paste, paint it on with a clean cotton bud/cotton tip, leave for a little while then rinse. Changing the pH levels in your saliva, basically. Making the area "hostile" to the thrush infection. Sometimes a warm saltwater rinse helps too. I got an ulcerated area from a tooth (which had a little piece broken off) and the only thing that soothed and helped the healing along was the bicarb soda paste method.
Oh bugger! Sorry to see you’ve been crook. I wondered where you were. I have Lupus and some of the symptoms are the same as Lyme disease. Feel better soon! 👍🇦🇺
Oh gosh Rob, I am amazed that the Dr didn't get those bloods done ASAP to diagnose if you had Lyme Disease or not. As it can be a terrible disease that is VERY hard to cure. & can have long term health problems if not treated fast and correctly. I hope you get your results super fast and get on the road to recovery. The thrush may have taken hold because your immune system was struggling to fight of the result of the tick bite and was therefore greatly lowered. Get well soon. Best Wishes from Queensland Australia
Try gargling with salt water. Salt kills yeast. Baking soda paste, lemon, unsweetened yoghurt, lemon juice, turmeric, clove oil, oregano oil or apple cider vinegar are all good for oral thrush. Hope you feel better soon Rob.
Sorry to hear that, and a positive mindset makes a difference. Because you've got antibiotics I'd get probotics, and natural yoghurt as that will fight the yeast infection, too. Lemon, raw honey, cider vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, glove, turmeric, oregano, garlic, can help. Wishing you well, sorry can't help but dish out advice take with a pinch of salt, oh that can help too.😉🤭🙏🏼, you're in good hands with Charly.
I get a sore throat from Symbicort, and as can't have a sore throat as is symptom of something you don't want, I just use the relievers, salbutomol (asmol/ventolin) type. The other type of asthmatic reliever medication can be an issue. Forget brand names but containers are usually brown (or have some brown) rather than blue for salbutomol ones. When I do use Symbicort (or any preventor) I rinse with a mouth/throat was Of course Gps, asthma foundation & more say should (must) use preventative, but for me one puff of the reliever works well as a replacement, & no sore throat. By the way, most of the asthma preventive inhalers have steroids in them. It is a very small amount but any competition sports people who have asthma can't use them
Do a saltwater rinse if I don't have any mouthwash. Only problem with that is I then want chips lol. And packet chips is something to avoid when asthma is acting up! I recently also had a weird rash, in small area on both upper arms, no idea what caused it (could've been a crawly, but weird was in exact same place on both arms). Been using anti-septic handwash on it which has helped to reduce/get rid of it
Hi Rob. We have been wondering where you are and if you are both okay. I hate to say it but I'm glad it was an illness and nothing worse. We were worried one of the animals had passed or either of you had been in an accident. Luckily it's happened before you holiday. The Swans may make the granny so you wouldn't want to miss that. Thanks for letting us all know.
I noticed you didn't do a live stream of Sydney v Collingwood, congrats to your Swannies for stopping our 11 week winning streak, but to come from the bottom to 2nd place? What a achievement. I'm sure you will get back up to 100% or near enough soon enough. Get better Rob, especially seeing as you have a huge holiday coming in the next few weeks. Hooroo mate.
I now am used to blood tests because I now have one every 6 months. I used to see floating stars and felt faint after every one. A result of having two blood extractions using a syringe as a 14 yo. (I later found out I hadn't needed them 😫) I used to take a deep breath before it was done. The nurse once told me not to do that and try to just breath normally and relax. (That worked... no negative reaction afterwards 😁)
I was just thinking yesterday, where are ya. Just thought you were having a break. Get better soon, do you have to check your for legged clients for ticks after walking?, and good luck with the bowls, go Charlie 👍💖.
You can normally tell when the dogs have them as they get big and blood around them. I think with me, I just flicked something off and didn't think twice.
Get better soon Rob, here's hoping you'll be okay for your to Australia. 🎈 🎈 🐻. Here are some baloons and a Teddy Bear for you. I once asked a Florist what she'd recommend to send a Man, because I'd feel weird sending Flowers to one. My Brother-in-law was in hospital having suffered from a severe Stroke. He loved it and got very protective of his Teddy Bear. Another male relative who happened to be an Older Gentleman loved the huge Teddy Bear we bought him. Well he lived locally, anyway he slept with it under his legs every night. His Wife who's My Mum's Cousin didn't mind. He did have to explain to the Grandchildren that they couldn't take his Teddy Bear home with them a few times though.
Enzo & Diego's No 1 Devout Fan 0 seconds ago get well soon mate glad ur going to be ok ❤ please take care sending lots of love from me in melbourne australia
Rob, I have to have blood tests regularly. I was never going to faint but I still don't like them. SO, when they're ready to do it I just look away or close my eyes. It helps 🙂 Most of the time I don't even feel it. All the best with everything, including the competitions.
I caught Lyme disease from a deer tick in Oregon about 8 years ago. It took 3 years to figure out what was going on as they don’t test for it here unless you ask (we don’t have Lyme’s). Needless to say I’ll never be the same 😢 but getting it early, you’re lucky!
I got a tick, 2 actually in my scalp when we were in a field doing our wedding photos some odd 20 years ago, oh boy wasn't that fun. One side of my face swelled up but luckily I didn't get Lyme disease that sounds crook.
As my parents would say "cut it off at the neck!" which applies to colds, cuts, stubbed toes, everything! But jokes aside, I hope you are feeling better soon cos that sounds horrible! Also, as an asthmatic, I did NOT know oral thrush was a thing! WTF, why did no dr ever tell me this!!
@@kerriemills1310 in Sydney there are specialist vitamin stores which have experts on hand who can give advice and we also have compounding pharmacists & chemists with on site naturopaths you can book in to see. I don’t know how it works in other countries but hopefully there are similar options. Most things seem to link back to the immune system and supporting those bodily systems I hope will lead to a solution.
Oh, Rob, you are a 'lucky' one. Recover fast, Australia is waiting for you soon P.S. Sorry for delay, I'll send you the gift when the hot weather will over, I don't want it melted 🙂
I used to eat 30 eggs a day when I was body building. I dropped my guts on the scaffold and a bricky ran around the corner and was dry reaching. I looked good but smelt bad. :D
Cold here single digits at the moment. Kelvin (the cat) is cuddly. The fish are on but it is too cold for me to go out and get them. I used to have no brains and freeze to catch fish.
Glad you're feeling a bit better, and glad you got this diagnosed early, because Lyme Disease can be really nasty. Does this mean we're going to get Stranger Things reactions?!! That would be epic!
Wow, not a great combination as the antibiotics can cause oral thrush of course! Better to treat the Lyme disease though I’d say. All the best with it.
Seems your luck definitely had a bad time there. It is always so sad that people get taken down by ticks in relatively city/farming regions. While some like myself have spent huge amounts of time, cumulatively in years, not even months , in deep forest, and wilderness, walking, hiking, camping. Even had dozens of ticks climbing up the mosquito mesh, zippered front of my 2 person tent yet never even suffered one known tick bite. I caught many lizards in my time and with tweezers spent hours pulling off ticks that these are very commonly infested with. Must be thousands I have removed and even had them drop off onto my jeans covered and also bare legs while pulling others off. Not say I have not had serious infection due to insect bites. Also in quite civilized area had a bad event. On one work trip to Germany, to Stuttgart area, one weekend I went driving in nearby hills, and seeing model gliders being flown off a hill, found the small farm road leading there. I spent several hours on sunny hill side watching them fly on the slope, a hobby I had here at home. During the time there some small stripped biting flies attacked both arms sucking blood. The bite stung almost like a horsefly, but these were much smaller. That evening in my hotel about to have a nice hot bath soak I noticed both arms covered in several large purple bruises, with mild swelling. Being a little unfamiliar with local medical services I let it go. By next morning I had mild fever very sore arm muscles, and feeling light headed. Still I just proceeded to work, and struggled on with not feeling well. Occasional light dizzy spells, somewhat in mental drift mode. This got worse and I stayed in my hotel for two days, sleeping fevered and very much in mental drift. After that I spent nearly a week in not quite fully mental attention mode, then recovered. The bruised patches were fading, though a work colleague asked about the bruises. He then got the company doctor to talk with me. It was identified as a mild encephalitis, that should have been hospital treated, I was very lucky to manage fighting it off without treatment. Identify the fly from some pictures. Wow, it is a cousin of the African TzeTze fly, which there is responsible for sleeping sickness. These cousin flies are progressing via middle east and Turkey, the near Mediterainian countries, Hungary, Yugoslavia , Austria as far as, then, Southern Germany and Southern France. Fortunately not carrying Sleeping Sickness, but known to carry encephalitis. I should have sought medical aid immediately, it could have become life endangering. A serious fault for someone that has had little medical aid over 71 years, other than appendicitis and injury care after bike accident. Had only three doctor visits in the last 25 years, no other medical care at all. By the way on topic of blood tests, I needed that many years ago for life insurance policy. The lady doctor took the sample and started labelling, I requested to lie down as I was very close to fainting. She explained, that was not uncommon that especially strong looking men often of bouncer look were the ones to faint during blood taking while the frail elderly woman would be happily chating and laughing through the whole procedure, very rarely even flinching. No real shame there if you like myself do not handle that situation at all well. I even hate getting injections after my bike accident in 1963 I had to go into hospital for observation incase of concussion, as I was knocked out for more than a minute, after 4 somersaults when rubber booted foot went from pedal into front wheel while racing downhill at over 35 MPH (acc to headlight speedometer) I had half body abrasions, and was to get a tetanus injection and almost gave the nurse a blackeye fighting to prevent the injection. Got it anyway being held down by a burly male nurse while getting jabbed anyway by the pretty young girl nurse, who I insist did it as harshly as possible in punishment for the struggle and near blackeye blow. I do not blame her.
I wondered where you had got to mate. At least you can't get the Mammalian Meat Allergy from a tick bite like you get from here. Just imagine not being able to eat red meat? I am in iso with a bad case of covid so was missing your melodious voice. Hope you have got things sorted by the time you get out here.
Hopefulness… Hope is the secret ingredient, Hope is a virtue: the desire with expectation of obtaining what is desired, or the belief that it is obtainable. A person consciously reacts to that which to him or her is desirable, believable, and attainable. It motivates us. Directing our thoughts and ordaining your destiny. Never abandon hope. Hope starts an action in an attempt to achieve specific results. Hope is the raw material with which you build happiness and success in life. It crystallises into faith, faith into determination. It springs principally from your imagination, from your dreams of a better world, a better life, a better tomorrow. On the basis of hope, you will decide upon your definite goals and translate them into reality. Never stop thinking about the powers and possibilities of hope. Your dreams develop into clear cut determination that leads to their fruition. Keep the fires of hope burning in your heart until you find happiness and success. Give your imagination free reign to create hope. Dare to dream large dreams, fill yourself with faith that nothing is impossible. Make hope a fixed star on which you chart your course in life. Then make it come true. When you have your eye firmly fixed on your guiding star, it is much easier to steer towards you goals. And you can quickly decide which actions will get you there quickly and which will delay you. Without your eye on the star, you may make many false turns before you finally reach your destination. Never forget that every dream begins with hope, as does EVERY HAPPY ENDING. 😊
Change your toothbrush once better, that way you won't have a relapse. Always wash hands after touching your face that way you don't spread it further. Get well soon, and good luck in the bowls tournament. 💕🌞🌞🇦🇺
Oral thrush is not pleasant, you should be using a sodi-bicarbonate mouthwash after brushing your teeth then use Nilstat, which is good for that. Yes have been worried as you post so often. Rest up, thinking of you.💖💖
Get well mate, just remember when you get to Australia and some one says 'How ya goin' don't tell them this story. When do you get here? Can you please live stream the Charlie v Rob bowl off
I know you won't believe me mate but, iv'e been concerned about you. ' Tip ', only Greenies get limes disease. A quick trip to Australia will make you feel a lot better. G'day Charlie. Look after yourself and himself.
Rob mate you don't like blood tests (one needle) and yet you have tattoos (multiple needles) very strange, but still get well soon and remember Charlie will wipe the floor with you at the bowls LOL.
Sorry my finger was too fast.....about your mouth, it would be good to go for candida diet. Too much sugar in the system. Antibiotics would make it worse. I hope you feel better soon.

I've had two of those - very nasty. Hope you're on the road to recovery!
Yes you were in hospital last time we spoke! Are you better now?
@@RobReacts1 I only just got out of the hospital but they still got me on antibiotics. On the mend now.

He did have to explain to the Grandchildren that they couldn't take his Teddy Bear home with them a few times though.

get well soon mate glad ur going to be ok ❤ please take care
sending lots of love from me in melbourne australia
Rob, I have to have blood tests regularly. I was never going to faint but I still don't like them. SO, when they're ready to do it I just look away or close my eyes. It helps 🙂 Most of the time I don't even feel it. All the best with everything, including the competitions.
I caught Lyme disease from a deer tick in Oregon about 8 years ago. It took 3 years to figure out what was going on as they don’t test for it here unless you ask (we don’t have Lyme’s). Needless to say I’ll never be the same 😢 but getting it early, you’re lucky!
Just lucky Charlie works in a pharmacy I guess!
@@RobReacts1 even infectious disease specialists had no clue! It’s not on the radar here unfortunately. Good luck feel better soon.
I got a tick, 2 actually in my scalp when we were in a field doing our wedding photos some odd 20 years ago, oh boy wasn't that fun. One side of my face swelled up but luckily I didn't get Lyme disease that sounds crook.
Sounds like you've had a horrid trot of things Rob. Take care of yourself.
Feel better soon mate. Gotta be 100% when you come down under or you won’t be able to do any sightseeing. 🇦🇺👍
I put this down to the beard. 😂
Haha
Might be good to visit a vitamin specialist you might need to support your immune system with all this going in. Good luck Rob
That’s a awesome idea, I didn’t know there were Vitamin Specialist that could go see like a GP, or are you maybe just meaning Chemist stores?
@@kerriemills1310 in Sydney there are specialist vitamin stores which have experts on hand who can give advice and we also have compounding pharmacists & chemists with on site naturopaths you can book in to see. I don’t know how it works in other countries but hopefully there are similar options. Most things seem to link back to the immune system and supporting those bodily systems I hope will lead to a solution.
@@starlightshimmery Thamk you. Edit Thank you. Auto type gets me…
@@kerriemills1310 no worries, you’re welcome!
Thrush reminds me of a song.
Oh, Rob, you are a 'lucky' one. Recover fast, Australia is waiting for you soon
P.S. Sorry for delay, I'll send you the gift when the hot weather will over, I don't want it melted 🙂
Thanks buddy, I hear the Ukrainian premier League is coming back!
@@RobReacts1 Yes, they are going to start at September, 20th, But for the safety reasons all matches will be without spectators
I hope you recover before your big trip down under. It could be worse it could have been an Australian tick 😵🥵
I thought you were avoiding me.. Sorry you got sick mate. DMSO look it up. I will hit the bell. Ticks are everywhere here in Australia. So used to it.
I don't know how the yeast from the tongue gets to the lady parts. I can't see in the dark ;)
7 chickens out of season from my incubator. when the season comes I can do 60 at a time. Egg shortage is not for me.
I ran into his missus years later and she mentioned it. I had an impact on his life I think. I said nah I cut down on the eggs.
Glad you're feeling a bit better, and glad you got this diagnosed early, because Lyme Disease can be really nasty. Does this mean we're going to get Stranger Things reactions?!! That would be epic!
Thankfully it has happened now - not in September...am I little worried though - things happen in 3's...
Hi rob, you are not going to Australia for the grand final ????
Well if I can get a ticket
When you experience something negative Rob, there is ALWAYS a positive side.
I bloody hope so!
@@RobReacts1 Hope is a positive emotion👍🏻
Hopefulness…
Hope is the secret ingredient,
Hope is a virtue: the desire with expectation of obtaining what is desired, or the belief that it is obtainable.
Now that you've had that reaction to the tick bite you'll have to be even more careful when dog walking
I think long pants is the trick isn't it? That and good shoes.
Rest up, thinking of you.💖💖
I take Symbicort and never brush my tongue afterwards, I just have a cup of tea.
In six months you need to do a Rob Reacts to this video :)
There are a lot of old videos i could react to! :D
Get well mate, just remember when you get to Australia and some one says 'How ya goin' don't tell them this story. When do you get here? Can you please live stream the Charlie v Rob bowl off
Well I will vlog this weekend. But I will try and stick a live stream on!
I know you won't believe me mate but, iv'e been concerned about you. ' Tip ', only Greenies get limes disease. A quick trip to Australia will make you feel a lot better. G'day Charlie. Look after yourself and himself.
I have given ladies thrush from the beer off my tongue.
Good God you've had a rough time, yeah the beard is beginning to look like Ned Kelly's 😜
😁😅
Haha the beard was going to go this week. But it hides the scabby face! So either this weekend or next week.
@@RobReacts1 It only needs a trim. 🙂
EEEEEwwwww. Hope you're better by September.
Haha should be fine in a few weeks
Rob mate you don't like blood tests (one needle) and yet you have tattoos (multiple needles) very strange, but still get well soon and remember Charlie will wipe the floor with you at the bowls LOL.
Oh mate... Nothing else I can say.
Oregano oil will burn it out.
Hmmm… maybe a good idea to get vaccinations for polio and monkey pox, too! (They’re both spreading around London.) Stay safe!
You're not looking good either, I do hope for a quick recovery. 👍🤮
Thush
Sorry my finger was too fast.....about your mouth, it would be good to go for candida diet. Too much sugar in the system. Antibiotics would make it worse. I hope you feel better soon.
Least you got sick and better before Australia
