f1 23 feels SO good on controller, i cant tell you how many spins, snaps, & crashes ive corrected, let alone the feeling of just absolute control of the car, this is gonna be a good year.
Edit: the horrible deadzone in the middle of steering (left lock to right lock) is also finally gone!
As a controller player that's a massive W. Can you turn the car quick now like on Saudi sector 1? Also is it not very twitchy now because of that?
@@fgamer1235 as a Controller player Jeddah has gotten allot better i found myself turning too early actually😂
great news on the handling. Now let's hope they don't introduce a patch in that messes it all up, like they did with the '22 handling which was actually OK to begin with, then patched away. I remember them doing the same on '16 as well.
8:34 just to let you know, you have to manually change the OSD for every single mode (race, quali, time trial etc) If you look at the bottom left, you will see you can change it. Hope this helps :)
I tried that but it still didn't work for time trial. For time trial I was getting the supercars hud to adjust. Maybe that's where the problem is.
@@e39lwd you can change that aswell, you can toggle through f1,f2 & supercars
That’s the issue he’s talking about. When you are in race, quali, or practice, the changes work. The time trial tab doesn’t work.

Glad to hear the online experience seems better. I'm so sick of "no response from host" and "connecting to online services". Or lobbies stuck on race results. Or being put in the same crossplay disabled lobby 8 times in a row.
And every ranked race being 3 people because of how the lobbies work
@@imnotftw dude the amount of times ive tried playing 25% ranked and its put me in a lobby by myself. Also why make the game crossplay then not implement it in every game mode?

I feel like they’ve done a lot of positive things. The game feels more realistic and like a sim rather than arcade. Overall a fun first day for me
I also feel there’s a bigger skill gap between assists and no assist which was needed

I agree that this is a better game, a less arcade and more sim to say so (at least compared to F1 22) but seems to me that eSports and other leagues will get to the same point of frustration on this outstanding issue I mentioned. Do you have any information on this?

Not just the contact model, the damage as well. Feels like I am driving on reduced damage mode. Even if someone collides, you have more control and it doesn't feel like they are pushing you out the traack
This game is soooo much fun reminds me of the older ones when you can have fun races. Still need to find 2seconds to be up with the best but I don’t use assists and still feel like I’m finding time it’s just a grind
I dove in at midnight eastern, and had a good time, but then again the maniacs haven't been online yet!
Just a heads up the camera is slightly ahead of the gameplay timewise, ie, your hands turn on the camera before they do in game
hi, great vid thx. i have a DD1 and my FFB was set to 65. i found this a bit too much for F1 23, so i tuned it down a little. it was a small bit too sensitive for the on track effects.

Apart from that you can use Rearlocking to a pace advantage at some corners this game is insane. Tried to beat your Bahrain time and drifted my way to P1 on playstation atm
If I wanted to race online it took 20 min to do so. The ranked was basically non existence and the grip was horrendous on 22

I play with a controller and I can definitely tell that they have improved the game and it does not feel laggy like 22, but there are still a few things they could change/fix
Hi JD, I have that csl dd pro as well. But my question is what you have done to the custom settings of your racing wheel. Because I do some random testing trying how it works or what the different settings affects are. Maybe because you have fanatec as well, you can help me. I have a csl elite esports v2 btw.

I think that the braking zones became different Because of the 55 or 56 and we simply didn't have the same brakepower due to that.🤷🏼

Maybe the online is good for now because it's not overloaded by players, and also I hope they don't change the handling with an update like last year to a complete disaster and for the sake of that one esports driver (you know whom, the one that has been up there in the front all the season, getting better traction out of anyone whether he was on the outside or inside of a corner... meaning even though he was on the less advantageous side in and out of the corner, he gets the better or equal traction...)

The game itself is really really good and everything is way better than in F1 22, BUT it feels kinda hard to get back to my level. I'm feeling off confidence and consistency. Its more a me problem than anything else, but it's just weird.

The connection issues are game breaking. I'm running on around 600/mb every race is just a lag fest.

The comments on f1 23 are very positive, but it's a very similar review of f122 when it was ist released! Then the developers messed with the handling etc. My experience of the last few f1 games which I have purchased day 1 have been very buggy and not to the standard that was f1 2020.i hope f1 23 will be alot better than previous f1 games!

How much difference between a cheaper (logi) or expensive (fanatic) wheel is there in term of lap time.
Hey mate, I can’t say for sure because I’ve never driven anything other than the G29 but I don’t think lap times are related to what you drive. What I mean is, before I got my wheel I would play with a PS3 controller and I was much faster than driving on the wheel, it took a little getting used to, now I’m a little faster than I was on controller but also factor in the experience I’ve gained playing the game. A wheel gives you a more immersive experience and perhaps more consistency but doesn’t necessarily translate to faster lap times.
It’d be nice to hear someone’s experience with a FFB wheel with more than 2KN of force haha. Cheers!
no lap time difference on hardware, altho a DD would give you more feedback and overall experience its a bit more enjoyable, and that will help you to enjoy and try harder

In my opinion I think is that the traction should be a bit worse bc i‘ve seen from videos that jeddah sector one is completely flat out and I personally think that this will make the racing a bit boring
