- This surf film is about Nicaragua. I've come on retreat to here with a bunch of my students and we've had a glorious time exploring the empty beach breaks the country has to offer.

I going in December and I’m so excited for the trip of a lifetime! Thanks for sharing your experience brother!
I did 3 months in sticky Nici....it was awesome and got the barrel of my life. No crowd no photographer...just a few chilled people watching..so epic...and those thunderstorms are crazy wild.
Which month have you Bern in Nicaragua?
I was planning to go in mid August to mid Sept. Is it too Rainy?
What an amazing place, empty wave's great people, I'm so stoked to watch it All thanks kale, absolutely a pleasure
Some of my best waves in Nicca. Good summary of nicca too brocky . Love Nicaraguan simple life.
That's how I felt about Costa Rice when I visited way back in 2004. We rarely surfed with other people. Even with a semi-crowd at Playa Negra, I was the only one going left. Those afternoon and night-time storms were epic.
I went to Playa Negra in 2004, and it was crowded. Surfed Avallanes and other nearby spots more due to the craziness there.
We had big Avallanes to ourselves twice. Marbella too. Both sandbars were barreling. We were dawn patrolers.@@datapusher-
We got that last spot double overhead when we went. 5’ @ 22secs. It was marking. Sick vid
It's the rainy season now, so much less crowded. Just got back from a week in Costa Rica. Got to love the warm water, and empty beaches. We surfed 3 different beaches on the last day. Nicaragua looks amazing.
Great video Kale! You should do more board reviews for intermediate surfers transitioning to mid lengths.
looks like you guys scored some sweet waves! Awesome Vid Kale. Hope to come on one of your retreats one day
I hope so too!
Nice edit. I love the quiet parts with no music.
You could not of sold it better Kale! Looks so epic!
What an awesome video I just loved it surfing is focus so much on the biggest and most dangerous waves surfing has always Ben about finding fun waves enjoying them with your best surfing friends and it looks like you have a great bunch of friends and you're most definitely having fun much Aloha to all of you!
🙏🏽🙏🏽
This was a great video, well done. Would love to go on one of your trips .
🙏🏽 hopefully next year!
Those left hand hacks though🔥🔥 Absolutely insane!!
🙏🏽
Nice one Kale, you are living the dream mate! So many barrels!?!?! 🤙🤙🤙
Beaucoup !
Whoa this is on another level of filmography
Hey kale, love your content so much !
Small question - do you think it's safe as a digital nomad to bring my computer to Nicaragua?
Love this vid, Kale! For an intermediate surfer (max has been 2-3ft overhead), where would you recommend for an Oct + Nov surf trip? Indonesia (Bali + Ments) or Central America (Nicaragua + Costa Rica)?
Try central :) Bali / ments definitely not - advanced waves there. Maybe the beachies in Bali
Nice one I have 20days holiday coming up in January so far think its going to be Nica or Costa still didn't decide. I did Puerto Rico last year was supper fun but didn't have much luck with swell was maybe 4 days of over head rest was 2ft slob.
Have you ever run into a friend of mine the themed photographer Filmmaker Tony Roberts he lives between Nicaragua and Dominican Republic. Great guy great Surfer we used to skate and surf in Santa Cruz in the mid to late 80s. I was just curious because it seems like you two would hit it off
Mind me asking what beaches you were at in these videos?
early september swell was heavy / then i think what was it??? last week swell was pretty wild too.. not much to work with at the beach break south of nica but yeah, always important to blend the anthropology with the surf
Nice waves
UHHHHHHH.AVENTURASSSS.
Small wave paradise
Love this. :)
Kale you rock broo what was ur budget goinng to nicaragua ?
Pretty accurate. Love that beachbreak. Bought the land directly in front 🤘🏼
I spy a guy named Oscar! Fantastic instructor out there.
Where is this in nica ? Ive been and i dont recognise the spot
Nice video:)
Which construction in the sharpe eye FT model did you like the best dark arts or PU ?
What time of year was this?
Best time of year is the summer months.
Have you guys been around popoyo? or mostly up north
What time of year? August/Sep?
Yeah just now
I've been to Costa Rica maybe a dozen times. This is my next stop! Nice work on the video. If you need editors hit me up!
Nice! 🤙🏻
Hi man,
Beacuse this is one of ur older videos ubmight not eaven see this but here goes. Im on my last year of school and when i finish i want to do a gap year before i go to uni and im realy considering the option of going to nicaragua. Would u mind telling me ur whereabouts in this video?, beacause id like to go somewhere with good waves nearby and u obviously found one. Or do u have any sugestions for a certain regeion with consistent good waves close by ( meaning max 1 hour drive) during the fall and Winter?
I address this in the video bruski 🙏🏽 good luck!
What do you use to track swell for example in 7:28 ? stab in the dark here that it's not windy or surfline :)
Whichever the locals tell me is most reliable :)
Seems like you only surf small waves. You should try some larger surf
How can I go on one of these trips?
kalebrock.com.au/surf
@@KalesBroccoli thank you I’m checking it out
Which spots did you go to? Or will they send assassins after you if you reveal this information?
Not my place to share
S I c k. How are the prices kale? Looks amazing
affordable but nothing premium
Good beats at 1:32.
Can someone explain me what is the thing about claiming after your wave? is it wrong?
It is not wrong but some people, particularly advanced surfers/pros, think it is funny or a bit uncool to claim (celebrate) a wave after you have surfed it. Sometimes they can't help claiming so people make fun of them for it. It is light hearted joking, nothing serious.
@@nickd6322 Yer more of a thing in Australia as well.
He was falling in the whitewash after his wave and his hands went up for balance…. So it kinda looked like a celebration. His crew was just taking the piss
Hi Kale, If you go to Costa Rica, I invite you in my house, I have 4 cabinas 100m from the beach in Playa Grande near tamarindo, we have good waves !
Hopefully one day!!
Lances left! 😂
Looks bitchin!!!!!!!
