Nicaragua has the largest rain forest north of the Amazon from Indio Maiz at east to Bosawas to the north if you love natural paradise, declared by Unesco as a biological and ecological corridor.The east Caribbean coast is paradisiac with beautiful islands, white sand beaches like Corn Island, Pearl Keys, Miskito Keys with more than 60 islands, and Caribbean culture and languages and food different from the pacific coast. The central regions are rich in mountains, beautiful towns like Matagalpa, Esteli (world famous for its cigars), tropical agriculture, coffee lands like Selva Negra, historical places and natural like Somoto Canyon. Visit Ometepe Island, the world only island with two volcanos. Visit historic Leon and it's beautiful beaches like Poneloya and Las Peñitas in the West and Sand boarding in Cerro Negro etc. Look at the internet for those places.

Yes you'll love it!! I didn't use a travel or tour guide for this trip except for the Las Isletas area, and there were a bunch of guys offering tours near the main plaza of Granada, and we chose someone that approached us and looked super friendly! I stayed at DreamSea and they offer trips to different hostels, shuttles to the town, and rides to the beach to go surf, so that was convenient too. Hope this helps, and have an amazing time!
Hi Jessica! I actually booked Dreamsea after seeing this vlog. I booked the one week inclusive trip as my first solo trip. Did you as well? What were your thoughts overall on Dreamsea and San Juan del Sur?
Dreamsea was great! I went with a friend but there were lots of solo travelers there too, they really take care of you with great food and shuttle services to get you around. They do surf days, bar hopping days, and will take you to different hostels with great views and pools to mingle too! There were lots of things to see and do around San Juan del Sur and I felt pretty safe everywhere I went. Just always take extra caution being a solo female traveler anywhere you go (I'm sure you do) and I hope you have a great time!!
Your video reminds me so much of our 'border run' from Costa Rica about 6 months ago! We loved Nicaragua and we had so much fun going to Masaya and the islets boat tour. We did much of what you did on the second day, so I can understand that you were tired. Come visit Costa Rica! It is more expensive, granted, but is also a bit more 'civilized' compared to the accommodations we had in Nicaragua. While I loved the beauty, it is still under the iron fist of the govt. and I couldn't take looking at the 80 yr old ladies begging at the city feria. Anyway, nice video!
