I really don't think that to be cool you need to be flashy. When you think of footballers (and yes i am talking about the real thing, not the inexpertly named sport americans call football) I think that the footballer who arranges his money so that he and his family can live reasonably well after his career has inevitably ended, is much cooler than the stupid idiot playboy who spends all his money on stupid things and then files for bankruptcy two years after his retirement.
Host is giving May nothing but May still makes it work. Massive respect. He's brilliant.
Being a good host often means putting yourself on the backburner and letting the guest do the talking. From what I've seen of him, I've a lot of respect for Skavlan.
Yeah, he is usually a good host, although I see what you mean, I feel like James is just a little hard to handle. If you watch any interview with James, he sort of takes over simply because of how interesting and quirky he is.

Internationally unknown Swedish TV show, and still 10 times the better interviewer (in English) than what BBC chose as Clarkson's replacement.

Nah, you were right. This show is made by both Norwegian and Swedish broadcasting and is shown in Norway and Sweden ^^
I enjoy how awkward James May feels about answering the question about his personal wealth. It's such a faux pas in England to discuss money.
Same thing in Poland and i think in general in Europe.

No one in the production office gives a jot about the guests, the audience, even the host.
Big viewing figures = more advertisements = bigger money.
Thankfully other countries are not so smitten with the wonga so a lot of quality can remain in tv shows.
Chase Graham Why? Did you notice what they're doing? They're actually talking. Crazy idea for a talk show right? U.S. talk shows would never half an interview even half this long. It would take up too much of the big corporations' promo time. Such a shame.

James May is far from slow. He might get lost a great deal in Top Gear and muck about. Still he has enough skill to be trusted in high speed performances. He achieved 259.11 mph (417 km/h) in the Veyron's newer 16.4 Super Sport edition in 2010. Respect!

love james he seems like a great person. This interview was somewhat painful though, due to the man hosting the show, he seems to have a tough time putting words together or thoughts or both. Might not be his fault maybe born like that first time watching
I think the presenter is doing a good job, it feels to me like he's having an honest conversation VS a quick question or response to satisfy the people watching

+hend hassan Fun to drive, easy to work on, reliable, easy to modify, very strong engines and in my opinion very good looking with a few exterior mods. Nothing wrong really but at that time they where only driven by old people and families and they where very common. Today old Volvos are very popular and people pay a decent amount of money for them.

These questions are not serious at all for this show. Its popular in Norway/Sweden for not only asking bullshit questions like all other shows, just watch some more episodes and you will know what I mean.
