This show brought tears to my eyes, absolutely remarkable. Margiela and Galliano is a match made in heaven. It's giving Victorian plague, Jack the Ripper, Les Misérables, underwater, with glistening porcelain doll faces. The corsets, the padding, the exposed bodies, the glistening skin, the acting, the thematic consistency, absolutely one of the most outstanding shows I've seen in a while. Wow🖤🖤🖤
What a pitty I don't know her I've never seen the series. But still my point was a different one than that there shouldn't be any well known models. Thank you for the explanation about her.

This is a work of art, this is a fashion SHOW, it’s truly Galliano!! The representation of this collection gives me vibes from the Galliano Fall 1994 show, just a little darker and more mysterious, I love it!!
@@winxame I disagree, in Margiela's earlier shows he used vintage gowns and repurposed items and you can see a lot of that here. A creative director is going to bring their own vision to a fashion house and use the techniques and codes of the original designer.

John Galliano Fall 2007: probably the greatest collection and fashion show of the 2000s. Galliano didn’t just build clothes, he built an entire universe in one collection. I’ve never seen Anna wintour soo joyous after a show has ended. This collection looks so much like a margiela take on this collection through an artisinal/haute couture approach. This was sublime.
This takes me back to the old school, classic Galliano days. Narrative, story telling, world building, creating the characters that inhabit that world and what they would wear, how they would move. Galliano really is fantastic.
Wow all the comments here celebrating the return of the Romantic John Galliano is so heartening. It shows despite the earlier cancellation of John, there is a fashion void that’s been missing that only he can fill! And there is a knowledgeable group out there waiting for this “return”. Bravo 👏🏻
what a breath taking show. My eyes were glued to the screen. This is a collection that will stick with me for a very long time. Pure art, artistic expression!
So eerie but beautiful! Seeing Gwendoline Christie able to embrace & celebrate her statuesque figure again makes me so happy for her! 👏😭 Job well done to the designer, make up, and all involved!!
This! This is glorious! It’s the most “Galliano” Galliano has been since he started at Maison Margiela! I’m nostalgic for the glory days of early Galliano, dripping with romance and theatrics! I’ve been bored to tears with the 2024 haute couture season until this waking dream of a show!
My thoughts exactly I feel like since his tenured he has been holding back a little. You took the thoughts and words right out of my mouth and mind lol.👏🏾
so great to present a show like this, this is what i expect from a couture show, a real deconstruction of fashion , creating a new paradigm, and not following a trend that is already done by others, so ingenious the model presented like a string attached marionette , Galliano will always be the genius with the magic scissors
This was a fashion moment. The extravagance, the drama, the set, the music, the models, and most importantly those beautiful clothes- I felt myself getting emotional watching this. This is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. And this speaks volumes that I didn't want this to end. It was brilliant.
Theatrical to say the least. Period pieces. American Horror Story & Les Miserables come to mind instantly. Some of the models took their role to another level really achieving the goal here. The nude models did the best job imo, their performances and the guys with corsets really pushed these pieces to a level of greatness. I can see this collection being the clothing for a movie easily. It's not easy to capture this dark energy with clothing telling a tale all on their own, but these did with great ease and excitement just the same. Excellent job designing this collection. Bravo!!!!
I guess John never left? This collection is giving A LOT of old school Galliano: the diverse cast, references to his faves, like Les incroyables et les merveilleuses, styling straight from his Galliano Homme debut (and Dior SS HC 03) and.... design design design. I love how he logomaniad the Margiela stitch, those latex gloves, the hems on the menswear pants were amazing and those reintepreted tabis as hooves? Yum yum yum.
Someone told me long ago that fashion is theater. I feel the same way; you need to evoke a feeling of freedom, love, or the pain of loss. This collection is probably a testimonial to the love of creating a difference in the world. It's not ready-to-wear (RTW), but I see it in many theater plays as inspiration for future custom designers. There is always more to share-the struggles, the love for our craft, the feeling that we haven't done enough. Thanks to Margiela and Galliano. It's graphic, it's real, it's painful, it's art.
Breathtakingly beautiful, true artistry...... Now this is what couture should be, exquisite, challenging and thought provoking.... An aspirational, dream world where every look and model are a singular vision!! I get shell shocked and broken soldiers returning to the brothels and squalor of the left bank at the end of the second world war, raiding their grandmother's wardrobes trying to find anything to wear, make do and mend. This is uttely Fabulous, this is full on Galliano and at his very best, impossibly romantic, evocative, a pure love of fashion and stories the clothes can tell.
