Actually this train is better than China’s slow train and regular speed train, and of course slower than high speed train which’s much more expensive, but it’s already a good service and those stations look so cool that really surprised me, hope Africa is getting better and better

It is called regular-speed train in China. Some Chinese says the Kenyan SGR is interesting because it comes with a regular-speed train and with a high-speed-train-class service and station. Maybe it doesn't compete with the Japanese train system but at least it's better than Amtrak.

People can talk bad about what the Chinese are doing in Africa, but this is for sure. Once any person experience this level of development they only want more and can't go back. After they developed their infrastructure things just started to take off. I'm sure it will be the same for African countries, it's hard not to get inspired by what's going on in all those countries so I'm sure leadership will be forced to develop the talent pool in each country.

High speed train is only for passenger train, while the SGR is mainly used for cargo. But the service of its passenger train is also great. Considering build price, infrastructure, electricity power, ticket price, time the contracts was made and many other factors, I think this one is more suitable for Kenya at this situation. When Kenya’s economy is developed, There will be high speed trains there. Things changes step by step.

Thumb up for China, Kenya does not have the capital and power infrastructure to support operations of high speed train. Kenya needs to learn how to craw before learning how to run. One day, Kenyans will be riding in fast moving high speed train. This should be seen as a step forward.

Kenya Railways and the contractor have given the best solution to Kenya's SGR development. Given the current infrastructure and power stability. Safety, cost and efficiency should still be on top of the list. Beautiful Kenya SGR. :)

I'm Chinese, my brother and several family members work in railway system, I know if we build faster bullet train system in Kenya, the ticket price will be dozen times, so honestly although the SGR is not the fastest railway in the world, it's the best choice for current Africa. Another great video Wode Maya. It's great to see our African people enjoying some of these modern things we take for granted in the west and elsewhere . I'm in Toronto, Canada btw. People can talk bad about what the Chinese are doing in Africa, but this is for sure. Once any person experience this level of development they only want more and can't go back. Infrastructure like the SGR will force other African nations to get their shit in order.

@@GreaterThanGodLike That's very true. But you have to remember that China was in the same position as Africa a couple decades ago and they had a clear vision for their society. After they developed their infrastructure things just started to take off. I'm sure it will be the same for African countries, it's hard not to get inspired by what's going on in all those countries so I'm sure leadership will be forced to develop the talent pool in each country.
We don't need China to develop the continent for us; that is how you sell your sovereignty.
It is about time we did things for ourselves.

High speed train is only for passenger train, while the SGR is mainly used for cargo. But the service of its passenger train is also great. With the demand and the development, and only if Kenya have enough passenger take train, you will also build one more advanced railway line(passenger only).

Considering build price, infrastructure, electricity power, ticket price, time the contracts was made and many other factors, I think this one is more suitable for Kenya at this situation. When Kenya’s economy is developed, There will be high speed trains there. Things changes step by step.

This railway line is designed with enough space to increase speed, which means once there is a need, Kenyan can build a faster railway on the base of current slow railway.
