    Western media really makes African countries has negative stigma by just showing poverty or anything bad else and almost forgetting the best side. Western countries colonized many Asian & African countries for centuries for the rich natural resources to build their own countries back in Europe. But now some Asian countries have turned to become developed countries, African can also follow. Long live Asia Africa.

    • @baileyi594
      @baileyi594 3 года назад +4

      @Surviving White Zaddy that statement is so stupid it’s hard to understand. White people have different histories and even genes. Also what do you mean ‘no nation in history has ever been at peace with black nations’, I don’t remember Serbians having a slave trade or conquering Africa, therefore Serbia has been at peace with Africa. Also there are so many countries that have not even bothered Africa. Do some historical research and you won’t be as ignorant.

Don’t use a platform that was invented by white peoples..We are all global citizens, regardless of what country or continent we come from. I was in Addis Ababa 8 years ago with my family to adopt my sister. It honestly blows my mind how much has the city changed in a few years: The buildings, the streets, the roads, even the way the people dress. Everything looks much nicer and cleaner. Ethiopia is for sure on the right path! I hope I can visit Ethiopia again soon with my now grown up sister and see everything for myself, and also so my sister can see her motherland. The rise of Africa is here. I can't wait till Africa is fully developed and stable where people around the world can then appreciate and respect African culture. The west had hundreds of years but they never helped Africa to develop, but in just a few decades of working WITH China, most African country has seen a massive improvement to their economy and infrastructure. Obviously this is a business transaction and whatever criticism, you can't deny this has benefited everyone.

      @@johnperic6860 unaccepting and being racist are quite different. in the West, they take you in then treat you like second class citizens. or worse, they enslave you first. i think China's method of helping Africa to develop is better than the European model, which was mostly natural resource extraction. China's method require no social engineering, and it is also very profitable.

    • @horizons3844
      @horizons3844 4 года назад

      @@johnperic6860 1. when you refer to the Jim Crow laws, you are contradicting yourself about the preferable treatment of Blacks in the same country.
      2. the only way to measure or compare China's measures or policies against western policies is the results that African countries achieve. So far, they have attained greater and better growth than the west has attained in over almost 400 years. this is the result of cooperation, not colonization.
      3. yes, there will be perceptions of inferiority or superiority anywhere in the world. The African man will be maltreated in China as the Chinese man will be maltreated in African countries because of preexisting social structures that operate on the basis of competition or exclusion. my point about racism is not that people have or do not harbour such perceptions or beliefs, but whether such beliefs are translated into inequitable policies or measures. you can't equate closed borders with racism if the perceptions that enforce those borders aren't used in a systematic way to subjugate a people. as far as I know, none of the Chinese companies operating in Africa are putting Africans into slavery. No shackles, no violence. They might not behave like the locals do or fully respect the local customs, but there is no evidence that they are breaking any of the local laws like the Europeans did.
      4. many of the Africans who are maltreated or evicted in Guangzhou had "lost" their passports because they did not want to pay to extend their VISA. this is an issue of local governance, and does not reflect "systematic racism." the African suburb in that port-city, from what I can tell, will be there for a very long time and remain quite vibrant.
      5. the best way to ease the tensions in Guangzhou is the development of African capital. Once African corporations begin to operate in China and to hire Chinese locals, the identity of that suburb will evolve. It is likely that the Chinese government will change it into a special economic zone or something of that nature where Africans who wish to become Chinese will be able to do so after a very long time. maybe double or triple the length of naturalization in the United States, which is around 10 years. will the Chinese state actively promote immigration from Africa? no, it won't. why? because the population in China far exceeds its natural carrying capacity (pre-modernization). China won't need to become a country of immigrants unless it falls under something like 600 million. by that time, Africa would have already become modern or post-modern. why would anyone want to leave Africa then?

    I'm surprised at how well developed this African country is. All I see on western media is starvation, poverty and pollution. I remember seeing a picture of a vulture that's about to eat a baby and that's what western media wants to portray. It's almost they don't want Africa to succeed.

      @@johnperic6860 Because they're able to take advantage of the resources - most notably gold. If you understand economics, you'll understand the root of colonialism and its current evolution in the form of imperialism. Western economies are propped up through imperialism. Research the gold standard and its history, the CFA and the root of many wars on the continent. Why was Sylvanus Olympio killed? What happened to Thomas Sankara, Nkrumah (despite his egotism) and more recently Gaddafi. When you hear anything about Africa, always ask yourself "why?" and look for the answers in the past, not the present.

      @@johnperic6860 Oh, OK yes, I get what you mean... There's a lot of untapped potential; and untapped for reason. We absolutely have a long way to go economically. Hopefully this will change with the Cheetah Generation. I pray we bring about the change we envision

    First time I've really thought about how different Africans are from each other.
    He clearly stands out as a West African in with all those Ethiopians! It's so interesting to think how the internal relations are between African countries, whether they like each other, trust each other etc, compared to just seeing one big blob of Africa!

    Addis Ababa looks modern and clean. I guess it makes sense as its a major diplomatic center and headquarter of the African Union. I didn't know that it's the first light rail in Sub Saharan Africa. Addis Ababa is also a major transit Hub as Ethiopian Airlines is the biggest airline in Africa. Looking forward to visiting Addis Ababa soon. Thank you for the video
