    3:27 i’d have gone for the “natural window” in the top area of the log pile. Less cover, but less required movement to break your stealth. Is there merit to the idea? There is some undeniable genius to hiding beside the barricade, as people won’t expect you to hide with uncomfy logs in your ribs and back where there’s less cover.

      The issue with this is that the most easily spot table area of a ghillie suit is actually the top of your head. No matter how well the top of your head is crafted, people will pick a part that movement. So when you move your head left to right while looking through your scope or scouting an environment, you’re much easily detected from my experience. This is why I stick to the sides of natural barricades or literally sit right in front of them if there’s enough natural foliage

    It took me a ton of videos to finally put together what you taught here. I think you're right. Good job.
    I live in southern Utah. Trying to craft a suit for here. It isn't easy. No leaves, very little green. Hard to get colors right because the ground is red, white and yellow. Not sure how totally useful it would be for anyone else, but crafting according to WAY different topography would be cool.

    • @airsoftstini
      @airsoftstini  Год назад +2

      Exactly! It’s always important to field test. Honestly for your environment, I would rock a brown suit like a KMCS then toss on a KMCS winter crafting kit. I think that would blend really well

    This was a great video with helpful tips and fundamentals that all air soft snipers should know! When pushing or touching foliage with your gun/hands be careful as the swinging of the branches could give your position away but other than that great video and tips!
    Also I personally am new to airsoft sniping and got a SSG10 but have had A LOT of trouble with it constantly grinding when I pull back the bolt, I've tried everything possible orange guides. sanding it down, etc etc so a video of maintenance on your gear and what you did to stop this from happening would be awesome!

    • @airsoftstini
      @airsoftstini  Год назад +4

      Thanks man!!
      In regards to your SSG10 issue.. this sounds stupid but when you loosen or remove the screw holding the rear of the stock/trigger guard to the rest of the unit and pull the bolt back, does it grind still or is it now smooth?
      I remember the first time I disassembled my Sssg10, I over tightened that back screw and the screw was poking too far out. It caused for a grinding noise.
      Honestly I haven’t had to do anything maintenance wise to my SSG10 other than loctite and re lube my spring/o-rings on the piston. Other than that, it’s been extremely reliable

      @@airsoftstini I will check that thank you and thank you for responding! My biggest issue is the metal shavings coming into the hopup throwing off my shots. Could this be a cause of the grinding? which is what I assumed, the rubbing of the spring guide and cylinder is what worries me as I think thats where my shavings our coming from. Is this because my rifle is still new? I will double check that screw though!

      I think it’s all very situational. My tips were more so a more realistic look at how I hide in a ghillie during airsoft gameplay.
      Marine Corps Scout Snipers probably do things differently because they’re set up In hide positions 100x as far as an airsoft sniper can shoot opposed to real steel. Always gotta take that into consideration that in airsoft, most of us snipers are looking for targets only 70-100 meters out

    I personally, would have a little pouch for me to tuck my rifle against my chest. then use the Vietnam sniper (American of course) "White Feather"'s tactic, and WORM my way across the field. not the dance. But by taking my toes and gently sliding my way forward.
    Edit: However, no matter how slow you move, to someone with good eyes, your sticking out like a piece of Red on a white Canvas.

    What's the best method to get rid of your scope reflection?

    • @airsoftstini
      @airsoftstini  2 месяца назад +1

      Attach a kill flash. I use a Novritsch sniper scope and they also offer kill flashes that screw onto the front of the scope. Direct bolt on which is nice. However, I felt that it blurred the scope vision slightly so I stopped using it. I've never been spotted because of scope reflection, though. Mostly due to me being so far out from enemies when I'm shooting.
      Another method is if you don't want a killflash, what I do now is put Jack Pyke tape on the entire scope to camo it out and then I take shoo-goo and glue dyed green leafs onto the end of the scope and have the leafs extend past the scope, if that make sense. Just helps get rid of the natural shape of the scope to help it stay hidden

    • @semperparatus678
      @semperparatus678 2 месяца назад +1

      @@airsoftstini, thank you very much for the feedback. I'll go with outfitting my scope with the tape and leaf trick. Your gonna think this is nuts, but I am a deer hunter and hunt with my suit. I'm just worried ying about the small crap lol. It was either the suit or a blind, to me deer deserve better than a blind. Not to mention I LOVE the challenge.

      When you’re in the middle of a game, 9 out of 10 times you miss the small little details. You can only pick me a part easily because you’re actively looking for me / know where I am in the camera’s frame. Trust me when I say I’ve snuck up on hundreds of people who tell me before a game starts that they’re gonna actively look for me but then I’m the one they’re walking right past in plain sight haha
