@@Did_No_WrongHeathcliff is the next Canto. Is already on the scheduled roadmap. And the next after Heathclif is Don Quixote if we go by sinner presentation order at the beginning of the game.
I think it's worth mentioning that over both their games and new cantos, Project Moon has not only greatly expanded their lore, but also INCREDIBLY enhanced their visuals. From the battle environments changing perspective from camera movement, to the weird 3D scene of Mephistopheles becoming a battlefield, to the new EGOs having seemingly 3D depth, to the ending scene with Ishmael throwing her harpoon. They are making huge improvements in their visual design and they really, REALLY show it. I'm excited for all the new animations to come. Maybe one day, we'll get a fully animated cutscene. Here's to hoping!
Imma just admit, as a thematic fight, I really loved the second part of ahab’s fight, I know we might not get gasharpoon as an ego but oh well, a man can dream Also as a side note, I really kinda do wanna apologize for the whole “guy who hates limbus” trend that spawned, I know I don’t speak for everyone but I just wanted to apologize for the behavior of the fandom at times, alas, it’s the curse of almost every fandom unfortunately.
No apologies needed. I deserve the title because I seem to be the content creator who speaks most of the games shortcomings, and hell sometimes I wear it like a self indulgent crown. But so many people ignore the fact that i wouldn't be here for the last 9 months making videos if I didn't care
@@DinoDave935 I can get that you really care but I imagine there were people who thought you were still here in the same way people hate watch stuff, hope that his vid does stop people from thinking your just here out of spite.
@@DinoDave935 Dave, I believe that these things you say, where you talk about the shortcomings, comes not from hatred, but a place of fondness. I feel that you want Limbus to truly become a magnum opus or something. As in, you really want it to be the very best it could be.
DONGBAEK IS THE BEST BOSS WTH I do think that canto 4 is long as hell but I wouldn't consider it "filler." a lot of it goes into explaining multiple different important pieces of technology, how they were made and what they've become (ex. K corp's singularity, the mirror, and some more). Dongrang also just talks a lot early on, and you become aware of his relationship with Yi Sang but they awkwardly say nothing to each other until Dongbaek forces the two to acknowledge one another. As much as their silent standoff drags on, I think its kind of important to establish a sense of tension between the two. There was a reason they stopped talking and never bothered to reconnect. Even when face to face to each other, they're both trying to avoid the past. And they use this silent standoff to explain interesting things about K corp, so I cannot consider that filler. I think if you consider any of what I've mentioned as filler, then I feel like Smee's gang and Ricardo fighting them over coupons is filler (though Ricardo and the middle show what Queequeg went through) I don't really care much for limbus' boss design but I think Dongbaek was way better than the Pequod fight. Punishing me for not having a character who strongly resists pierce is kind of annoying as hell, and Gasharpoon after was kind of a joke compared to it. I do remember struggling more on Dongbaek than I did with Farmwatch, but idk I'm probably Dongbaek biased she's like one of my favorite characters I like her more than most of the sinners oops Idk I get where you're coming from but your comment about Canto 4 being worse just feels wrong. I love it sm
You probably have been hit with this multiple times in the replies but uh Blind Obsession is an aberration of dreaming current I believe it still has dreaming current in the abno name
My point seemed to be lost in translation. When I say 4 has filler I mean the million and 1 fights against k Corp guards and robots. The story itself is fine enough
I wouldve stomped dongbaek first try but a bug kept proking during the duel where a random status killed her and wouldn’t progress beyond it. The vertical difficulty spike is real
One of my favorite things about the fourth Canto is how, after Yi Sang figured himself out, he was able to go from being a silent character with a couple of lines in three chapters to someone who was the first to calm Ishmael and Heathcliff down, to embrace the idea of volleyball, and to just become much warmer to his comrades. And unfortunately, personally, I haven't gotten the same effect from the ending for Ishmael yet. I mean, I liked her story, how she turned from being the most sane sinner into someone who just wants revenge... but after that, she just goes back to the beginning. Of course, I liked the way she decided to find her way, her compass, which is quite sunny. It was just the contrast that made Yi Sang's ending seem more impactful to me. Also, the moments with memories, in my opinion, are still in the fourth chapter. I mean, Ishmael, Rodion, and Sinclair just got flashbacks, Gregor had something like a journey with everyone else...and in Yi Sang it was a play in the literal sense, where sinners played other people according to the script. P.S and also Dongrang's Distortion theme reminded me of the battle with Roland during the Realizations I still like the fifth chapter of this story and hope Project Moon will continue to delight us. Limbus Company is not a great game so far, not better than Lobotomy and Library, but it still evokes pleasant emotions.
We haven't seen how Ishmael has changed in her interactions with the other Sinners as of yet though. Like, we only got those changes in 4.5, not in the Canto itself.
I dont think we even had time to see the changes on ishmael, until canto 5.5 that is, but i dont think she just went back to square 1, infact i think ishmael is kinda like Roland in the sense that she was just acting nice and all with all that bottled hatred, whilst now shes actually gonna be the good free-willed sailor shes meant to be
Tbh her base ego line change is already a big enough impact on her journey, change from a seawoman full of revenge and yet still let ahab take control of her life, after canto V she is a free human who free from all obssesion’s shackles and now on her own voyage which she takes full control of
I understand this perfectly well, yes. I guess I just didn't put it that way... I mean that contrast always helps to see changes. For example, after Heathcliff's chapter, we'll probably see him being more open about his feelings and "smart," although I like the fact that he's already becoming more friendly. And for example, Don's chapter can show how she sometimes learns to think about the consequences for her comrades before doing something in the name of justice But Ishmael was... the golden mean from the beginning? Loyal, but not as much as Outis, intelligent, but not "meticulous" like Faust, determined, but not as much of a daredevil as Dawn or Heathcliff. I can see her development, yes, but it reminds me of Sinclair's chapter - he also overcame his fears of Cromer and forgave himself for being the one who led to his family's death, but even so, I personally didn't feel like he got braver, although his interactions with Ryoshu and the situation at the club were funny, yes
@@visper5380 Like Rodion and Gregor, Sinclair chapter didn't end up with him "fully" completed like Yi Sang and Ishmael. Like Demian said, he is not a complete hero and he doesn't have the mark yet. Some people told me that there is more in the original creation of Emile Sinclair. And there is a theory about Kromer being not actually just the ennemy we fought but a byproduct of Canned Experience. It would explain why she was the leader of Nagel und Hammer that young. Maybe there multiples Kromers and Naggel und Hammer ? All of that to say that it's not over for Sinclair. Well probably for every sinners so far. The N corp/Hermann crew has antagonistes or people that knew well each sinner from each chapters. -Hermann for Gregor -Sonya for Rodion -Gubo for Yi Sang -Ahab for Ishmael -If we follow the theory that i mentioned, Kromer for Sinclair. It is just that, Yi Sang and Ishmael are more fullfilled than the 3 others.
There is a novel about Indigo's fight though! It's called "The Old Man and the Sea". Canto 3 and 4 were really hard on me, because they reflected my own mug, right back at me. The paralyzing instinct to go back to childhood that you can no longer go back to, too afraid to step ahead and take responsibility for yourself as an adult. The overwhelming burden of lethargy, marasm, the genuine belief that you have no means to change your life for better... drowning in inaction, waiting for rot to take over your body, rather than walking out into unknown. But canto 5 made me bawl. Ishmael's story, no, all sinners story is told in not jusy their chapters, but all their actions. I felt the sound slip into cracks of my own heart, and as the music blew them up, i felt it al spill in and out, like water washing the dark corners i've kept to myself. We know this feeling well, don't we? The fear of going into future without anything firm to hold onto. The fear of unknown and heading into it all by yourself, with noone by your side. I finished yesterday and still, I cannot stop crying, like decade of filth was being finally flushed from my heart, the sight of my burdens clear at last.
I told you dave, I knew you would like Canto 5 lol. I'm glad it restored hope in you for PM, and it genuinely makes me excited for future stuff if this is the kinda quality we can expect going forward! Also, I'm glad i'm not the only one who cried at the end of this canto lol
Surpsised you havent mentioed Ish VA. That woman carried the story on her massive lungs. Well done to the team and lets hope part 6 will do Heathcliff justice.
Personally I love Saude. She’s more believable of a perfectionist than Effie was. I don’t care for Effie. So I’m kinda glad she’s still alive. Canto 5 is a masterpiece and I’m glad that it exists.
For me i thought chapter four as something that resonated with me on a really personal level, and because i despise ishmaels personality, similarly to how i disliked yi sang for moping constantly until late canto 4 i didnt think canto five would hold up. However this is project moon. They blew it out of the water, literally. Made me adore ishmael and her development and have broke me down a second time. Even then we see other sinners shine in the same spotlights alongside dante as well. Mili even made an extremely powerful song which yet again is in a different tone to their other themes. Utterly slaughtering it with the crescendo and animation. Overall they have and will most likely will continue to surpass themselves. Next up is heathcliffes arc, and I've been very eagerly wanting to see this one through
PM has been a massive inspiration for me as someone who wants to write a book one day. I find their horror and worldbuilding grotesquely creative. Even though I’m not big on the gameplay aspect of their games, I love videos like these because they give me insight and differing opinions into what works and what doesn’t work storywise. That being said I have not made it to canto 5 lol. no reason anymore I just haven’t been playing much. oops
i know it's just pm getting better as a whole on the Casual Racism front but it did make me giggle a little seeing the difference between some of vellmori's art and the classic ruina style and how black/dark characters FINALLY have blood holy shit. friend group parallel plays the new cantos and we were just about audibly pogging when starbuck and queequeg showed up. dear lord they finally have more blood in the blood budget
Glad to hear you enjoyed canto 5, the Mili song was ace and I really enjoyed the character designs Now its time to wait for this Bamboo-hatted Kim mini chapter to bang
Canto 5s writing was fucking amazing and PMs writing always hits me in my dead emotional core ❤️ the last fight was just absolutely amazing and ya may find Ahab as alright but she was by far the best villain we have had in a while!
Being Critical about something its just another way to show your love towards it. Point out flaws with the hope that you can improved its something as far as you can get from hating it
5:47 You know, I made jokes about how you are "the guy that hates limbus", maybe more than i should have, and for that you deserve and apology, despite what disagreements we have had talking in Lounge, i like talking to you man, you're great, and even if you and I don't agree on Limbus in some parts, or all PM content for that, i like talking to you when you show up. here is to 10k, and here is for Canto 6 to be even better. 🧡
finished canto 5 last night, and was wondering who that pallid person was who flashed and helped ishmael pull the heart... god damnit its queequeg and now the waterworks have started again
I’m glad you enjoyed Canto 5, so far it’s probably my favorite piece of storyline writing from PM so far(like individual stories kinda like those of the various factions in Ruina), I love the ending of Canto 5 where Ishmael is debating whether or not to kill Ahab and continue the cycle of self-destruction and vengeance they have going on and her decision to kill the whale and rob her of her life’s meaning and essentially stripping Ahab of her meaning for existence really hit hard for me, the fact that Ishmael decided to not give into the one thing that kept her moving forward in life and start on a new path in her life was nice. I also liked how the GasHarpoon fight was Ahab both cannibalizing her remaining crew’s souls and essentially taunting Ishmael and trying to provoke her into continuing the cycle and become more like Ahab. I also liked the small detail that Ahab manifested her EGO WITHOUT talking to Carmen, which is a small detail I instantly picked up on, it implies to me that Ahab might have already manifested her EGO before the fight and that was just her revealing it to us, and it fits that Ahab would be the kind of person to already have manifested an EGO and conceal it from everyone else. It also becomes pretty clear that she must have had this power beforehand considering how much she seems to be aware of her madness and her negative traits since it seems to be a common factor that once you realize your awful traits and accept that you manifest an EGO along with having a clear-cut and defined objective to accomplish in life, also she was very easily able to see through people, even as far back as Ahab and Ishmael’s first meeting, even if not as clear. There is definitely more I can discus about Canto 5 but I'm going to need to replay and revisit the story if I want to thoroughly discus it all, and preferably somewhere that isn't in a RUclips comment section, which seems to be the best place to get actual Limbus Discussion(I avoid the PMCH Limbus channels like the plague they are)
There's bits to love in 4 but for me it's completely overwhelmed by stuff like the concept incinerator, and general lack of fun in the fights. But I appreciate kind words, thank you
@@DinoDave935personally in terms of writing and story I loved canto 4 but in terms of gameplay yh too much filler and it hurts what people call pacing.
I think the fight with the middle was silly, but fit because it showed not just how powerful he was, but also just how petty they actually were, like they killed an entire family because a _kid_ from that family spilled Icecream over a shirt or wardrobe that someone in the middle really liked. PM loves to take real world things and up them to 100, so I don’t doubt that the middle could be as petty as we saw Ricardo be then, (though there’s probably more to it in the lore as to why the hair coupon was such an insult to him, maybe akin to religion, I don’t know.)
The way fandoms in general treat criticism even if it's done in an earnest desire for the thing to get better is wild. the amount of times I had to calm someone down because they got angry at me for daring to say the mirror dungeon could use more random elements and more interesting EGO gifts to keep it fresh is insane. it's like some people think that if you aren't a 100% boot licker then you must be a hater.
Yeah I'm willing to say this fantom in particular is pretty open to discussion but to be fair I've only met a genuine few bad apples who've wanted my head for my takes. Luckily I've already cultivated my slice of the fantom pie and all my videos are met with mature responses and arguments
I absolutely incredibly enjoyed the story of Canto 4. But today after grinding so much and trying to balance the game with life, I'm just feeling so empty. I still to this day haven't beaten canto 4.5 and I've just been coming on pressing a couple buttons for the exp tickets and thread then leaving. Now, I'm completely out of modules and crates and I can't even do the daily tasks anymore unless I wanna easily take like 30 minutes which for the same boring thing every time that I have to be focused on doesn't make me feel good. I haven't seen anything about canto 5 really aside from Middle Don, but when logging in and being absolutely excited for such a cool ID I was then met with the realization I would have to grind 400 Don shards for it if I actually really wanted a chance to get it. When that set in I just felt like all of what I did in game was for nothing. I really don't want to push myself for the grind of another chapter if it's gonna drag on like the first 75% of Canto 4 and only be good at the very end when I fail countless times again and again in the longest dungeon known to man to finally beat the thing and then start the grind all over again waiting for chapter 6. At that point, I'd rather just watch on YT the whole story and not bother playing it anymore. If I come back and watch the rest of this video past the spoiler warning then it's clear what choice I made.
You are a prime example of what a ton of people forget about when it comes to the integral issues with live service games. Dedicating yourself to one thing daily is hard and especially if you are busy Irl it becomes a painful chore. I wish you the best of luck with both limbus and life
I'd say that my only major problem with this canto is that the plot relies too much on getting the crew into an inescapable situation only for someone to swoop in and defeat the overwhelming enemy in a single swipe. It was in prologue, during the fight with Kromer and by the third time with Big Brother the pattern becomes too apparent
The prologue was setting up vergil The kromer one was blatant bad writing and ludonarrative dissonance This one was also kind of forced but at least the battle against Ricardo was tough enough that I didn't feel cheated for losing to him canonically
@@darklurkerdarklurker9106IMHO it's about the fact that, In contrast to prologue and the Middle, we really beat Kromer through two phases and there were no signs that this foe was too powerful for us, yeah, it was challenging (pre-nerf at least), but it was surely beatable. And then suddenly it turns out that no, we were actually losing to her this whole time, which didn't really correlate with reality, and after that some blue boy just appears and basically steals our kill, when, again, at least in prologue and the Middle, foes were really powerfull and game "continued" before we could actually lower their health bar to zero (not talking about some individuals who solo annihilates Middle just for challenge)
@DinoDave935 I think the nerf to the fight had repercussions for the story because instead of Kromer being an incredibly challenging foe it just turns it into your average abnormality fight. But on the other hand the pre nerf Kromer fight was kinda over-tuned (in my opinion) so maybe it was the right choice. I don’t really know what the right move would’ve been
I agree with the fact that you like the new artstyle more, very ruina like. A sense of nostalgia in a way is nice to feel in a game that is meant to continue those past games like ruina and lobotomy corp, limbus did a very good job at tying the two together lore wise, but it's not completely about those two so I guess much can't be said. ( spoilers beyond this point. ) Although, I do hope for a very end of the game ending credits fight or something that has Roland and Angela fighting outskirts monsters like they did with the Head. That would be cool!
And the Cantos are only going to get better and better, and Heath's one is sure goin to be a emotionally destroying one! one thing i will say that i found sad of canto V is that.... WE STILL HAVENT SEEN THE ENVY PECCATULEA!! mf has been absent from their siblings for five whole chapters, pm let my boy envy peccatuleum show up :( aside from that im hyped for more story content and canto VI with the themes of wuthering heights i expect like i will feel totally misserable constantly through canto VI hehehehe we shall see him go from low, to he himself destroying his and everyones life around him, along with the mistreatment he suffered all around
I mean having a Pinocchio fight in the whale literally wouldn't make sense as Pinocchio is in the Library, and yes the abnos in the Library are actually there just turned into books like the guests were so it's not the Pinocchio in the Library was a copy or anything, this also goes for Dreaming Current though Dream-Devouring Siltcurrent may be an aberration of Dreaming Current
No matter how much I may disagree with your opinions and your complaints. I will never see you as a bad guy because the way I see it your another person with different opinions than others so there's no reason to hate or get mad at you for it.
pass on actually is my favourite because it flashback that sinner through story. each sinner have a way to express their different in the song like gregor just the based, rodion is more like lullaby, sinclair is well a boy singing so not really in sync, yi sang (the goat) have a mix with poem in it and having a changing bg :o, now we have more happier ish song with lor bg. I hope it will good and reflect with the sinner too ALSO PLEASE UPDATE BASE EGO OF GREGOR, RODION, SINCLAIR AND YI SANG. THEY HAVE CHANGED AS A CHARACTER SO PLEASE UDATE THE BASE EGO
I can understand Yi Sang and Sinclair maybe too, but Gregor and Rodion didnt rly have any major character developments in their chapters, rather they just showed us their background. Gregors Ego is just about his arm changing so nothing much you can adjust there and rodyas is about her helplessness to the consequences to her actions, which she hasnt done anything about yet
Personally I do not care if you are a Limbus Hater or not, because I don't let other peoples opinion incluence my enjoyment of things and more people need to adapt that mentality. On the other hand I don't really feel the need to defend Limbus because it's the worst PM Game for me just by being a Live Service Game. Lobotomy Corporation still fucking rules!
Canto four was good, but yeah, the amount of repetitive fights brought it down, as well as being drawn out. Though the story and overall theme of it was really good.
Dino, love your content, but some of your personal tastes and opinions leave me absolutely baffled from time to time. It's still quite nice to have someone who goes kinda against the currents.
Yeah actually. I was excited for canto 5 and I thought it was alright. It would be milk if I hated it and wine if it was the best thing I've ever played But water is the reasonable middleground
It isn't, I'm fully aware of how I sound because I have and always will treat them as a business first and foremost. Which is why I'm annoyed when people give them a pass or use "The game is making money to fund future projects" as an argument (it isnt). Which is why I've been irritated to a whole new level the last few months seeing them make greedy decisions and badly written stories to just toss out. So I'm glad they're copping on a bit
Not everyone has to have a complete 180° turn in their personality. Ishmael got her closure so expect her to be a little bit more light hearted here on out, but don't expect her to be a patron saint
To counter your criticism of Dreaming Current not appearing, how would it? It's in the main branch still and that's all the way in the Outskirts in the Library.
I still hold and will discuss my issues with the game, especially chapter's 3, 3.5, and 4 But for once I am happy (well depressed from the story) leaving an update
I still don't know where is explained that Abnos can't have copies. If we go by the logic of Headquarters then how do you explain the second Copy of Schadenfreude on Leviathan?
Pilot was a real nice foreshadowing of the group dynamic or more so one of the core ideals the pequad group also had. That being them convinced that they are sacrificing for the greater good by doing what they are doing. Your dismissal of his existence is rough. And I found alot of your criticism bitter, if anything. I guess much like you and limbus, we just don't click. But that's fine
as much as i disagree with your opinions sometimes (DONGBAEK IS A GOATED FIGHT), i kinda agree with all you said, pretty happy you are positive about limbus now, 4.5 and 4.8 seem like they have quite a bit of potential, so i would love to hear your opinions on them! Also, of course i say that heath's canto is IMO the one with the most potential, since they showerd a bit of heath's character on this canto more, and his relationship with ishmael (SHIPPING BAIT SHIPPING BAIT SHIPPING BAIT/j) which i honestly find quite sweet, so yeah! I hope that you will enjoy what the future has in store for limbus
Look I realised that I said that wrong when I was exporting it but at that point it was too late to change and I accepted these comments would happen lol
Honestly, for me Canto 5 for some reason didn't give me as much impact as Canto 4. I really liked Yi Sang's character development after his canto and I really hope ishmael will get one in future cantos (if she'll get screentime, of course)
Imho Chapter 4 being long isn't bad thing, considering it's a gacha game and all your options are Main story and Mirror dungeons. Also Donbaek fight is lovely, I love theme of it so much) Chapter 5 is charming too, "Compass" is banger, and Idk why, but PM changing Ishmael's Snagharpoon line after the end of Ch.5 is adding so much attachment to the story for me.
I don't exactly see you as the Limbus hater and I think it's healthy to be critical, but boy I can't agree with a lot of your takes on Limbus. e.g. I still don't see (or rather hear) how Two Worlds and Wings are the same or even a similar genre
it's not just because of bad pacing> But also the concept incinerator getting the spotlight, railway and dungeons becoming canon things the sinners experience, more stuff on mirror worlds and a lot more things that drag it down for me
@@DinoDave935 I like the lore of the city expanding. It's really nice to understand more of the other games with concept like these filling the gaps as to why certain things disappeared from civilisation and how much control the head has as anything you've built will be erased from minds. Making your impact impossible to last in any ways if you go against higher forces. Mirror world also was really hitting for me. Seeing a happier yi sang being a guide to himself to grant his wings really shown he was only a variation away from a better life. And honestly I like mirror dungeon being cannon. Increases the immersion as the manager
The fact that this show up the minute I just finish Canto 5 is funny to me But fr Canto 5 made my ass cry 💀 and in my opinion might be best Canto so far even better then Canto 4 Do hope Canto 6 can be as good as Both Canto 4 and 5 or even better tho
Chapter 5 slaps hard, only thing I didn't really like was how ish kinda resets at the end? It's like she's just gonna act the same as she did before except this time it's genuine I guess Chapter 5 to me kind of exemplified something in Limbus. I liked the story, I really liked the character stuff for the most part, but I feel like it would have been better if it was in a different game that didn't have to stick to the whole mobile game formula of having short story bits broken up by a punch of pointless fights, the abnos in the white whale felt pretty out of place and siltcurrent is just way less cool and creepy than the OG Basically what I'm saying is if Limbus company was just a visual novel i would eat that shit up But those don't make gacha money.
I'll say, even with the filler fights in Canto IV, I still found it a bit of a drag, wasn't a huge fan of all the reenacting we got with the sinners, cool at first but it dragged on for too long imo, even though it was filled with worldbuilding, like most of the stuff I liked was pre-Dongaek boss fight and from Yisang being in Ncorp onwards. With Canto V, I think I can say I've liked every bit, outside of me wanting part 3 to be a bit longer to flesh out the rest of the crew (Pip felt non-existent outside of flashbacks) outside of Queequeg who feels like had enough to stand on her own. Less filler is huge, even just inserting some story bits like the Waves and Whales to justify the fight felt way better than having 3 fights in a row with no story at all. i like CIV a lot, but its hard to ignore its problems. Each part also developed a lot more than just Ishmael, I feel like Yi Sang and Sinclair showed improvements in their characters, Sinclair trying to intimidate the pirate in the club and Yi Sang being a lot more open in geberal, all while we were setting up Ishmael and her motives for the whale, just needed to be a bit longer in the actual last part. Outside of that, Part 2 still showing that our Sinners aren't still strong enough to face stuff like the Fingers is good, we dont need fast powerscaling yet. Also one thing: Lesbian Ishmael 👌👌👌👌
I do get that fluid sac is really good but honestly I barely ever find myself using it, and if you really need something to counter sp drain and dont have fluid sac there's always base faust ego@@DinoDave935
I really want to be excited for Canto 6, especially if it is the Heathcliff chapter, but after so many bad chapters just one good chapter isn't enough to restore my faith in the writing. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic and this really will be a turning point for the writing. Would be nice if it was.
You know, I hate character resets... but they way they handled Ishy's 'reset' is well-earned and well-deserved. Also the Heathmael allegations can't escape my brain, PM knows what they were doing when Heathcliff is the first Sinner to call her out for her schizo arc and also the first Sinner to pull her out of her 'pallidification' 😂
Might aswell leave my opinion, Chapter 4 definetly has too much filler and in turn hurts the pacing, but donbaek onwards its great. Chapter 5 Starts off great, It builds up on how scary the whale is to the point of introducing a color to deal with it. My issues start in the dungeon. Chapter 5 built up the whale, you go inside and suddenly ahab and co. It completely shifts away from the whale aside from killing it and I really dont like it. I also dont like Ahab and co. being alive either, for me it feels like plot armor that they survived pallidification Its still well done though if we leave these few gripes out.
Personally, that was my favorite part of the chapter. PM used the fact that people familiar with moby dick would instantly recognize the fact that our sinner is *Ishmael* and not Ahab. The fact Ishmael also has some ambiguous entity she has to hunt down makes people instantly think "The Whale", but Ishmael in the actual books isn't all that devoted nor interested in hunting it down; Ahab was. This alongside some clever, subtle clues [Ishmael refers to her object of hatred as a "she"] made me feel something was generally off, and when the twist that she was hunting down Ahab instead of the Whale finally hit, I was shook, enamored, and ready to hunt down some GILF ass. It perfectly reflected the original themes of the book; a "big scary whale" doesn't even come close to the terror and potential destruction of human hatred, pettiness, and obsession.
I can’t believe Dino Dave hates Limbus Company…no dignity…

Imma just admit, as a thematic fight, I really loved the second part of ahab’s fight, I know we might not get gasharpoon as an ego but oh well, a man can dream
Also as a side note, I really kinda do wanna apologize for the whole “guy who hates limbus” trend that spawned, I know I don’t speak for everyone but I just wanted to apologize for the behavior of the fandom at times, alas, it’s the curse of almost every fandom unfortunately.
No apologies needed. I deserve the title because I seem to be the content creator who speaks most of the games shortcomings, and hell sometimes I wear it like a self indulgent crown.
But so many people ignore the fact that i wouldn't be here for the last 9 months making videos if I didn't care
@@DinoDave935 I can understand if that was an annoyance. Glad you stuck through for nine months though, and let’s hope chapter 6 will be good
@@DinoDave935 I can get that you really care but I imagine there were people who thought you were still here in the same way people hate watch stuff, hope that his vid does stop people from thinking your just here out of spite.
@@DinoDave935
Dave, I believe that these things you say, where you talk about the shortcomings, comes not from hatred, but a place of fondness.
I feel that you want Limbus to truly become a magnum opus or something. As in, you really want it to be the very best it could be.
And yet, you can't expect everything to be perfect... The more the consumer, the more the unsatisfied customer left.
DONGBAEK IS THE BEST BOSS WTH
I do think that canto 4 is long as hell but I wouldn't consider it "filler."
a lot of it goes into explaining multiple different important pieces of technology, how they were made and what they've become (ex.
I think if you consider any of what I've mentioned as filler, then I feel like Smee's gang and Ricardo fighting them over coupons is filler (though Ricardo and the middle show what Queequeg went through)
I don't really care much for limbus' boss design but I think Dongbaek was way better than the Pequod fight. Punishing me for not having a character who strongly resists pierce is kind of annoying as hell, and Gasharpoon after was kind of a joke compared to it. I do remember struggling more on Dongbaek than I did with Farmwatch, but idk I'm probably Dongbaek biased she's like one of my favorite characters I like her more than most of the sinners oops
Idk I get where you're coming from but your comment about Canto 4 being worse just feels wrong. I love it sm
You probably have been hit with this multiple times in the replies but uh
Blind Obsession is an aberration of dreaming current
I believe it still has dreaming current in the abno name
Idk, I stomped dongbaek first try and I didn't have even half of ids and egos I have now when her fight was released
My point seemed to be lost in translation. When I say 4 has filler I mean the million and 1 fights against k Corp guards and robots. The story itself is fine enough
@@DinoDave935 honestly this, filler fight in canto 4 (especially in part 1) was annoying asf
I wouldve stomped dongbaek first try but a bug kept proking during the duel where a random status killed her and wouldn’t progress beyond it. The vertical difficulty spike is real
Let project moon cook guys, Library of Ruina was in Early access for a long time and the finished project was stellar.
P.S and also Dongrang's Distortion theme reminded me of the battle with Roland during the Realizations
I still like the fifth chapter of this story and hope Project Moon will continue to delight us.
And for example, Don's chapter can show how she sometimes learns to think about the consequences for her comrades before doing something in the name of justice
But Ishmael was... the golden mean from the beginning? Loyal, but not as much as Outis, intelligent, but not "meticulous" like Faust, determined, but not as much of a daredevil as Dawn or Heathcliff.
I can see her development, yes, but it reminds me of Sinclair's chapter - he also overcame his fears of Cromer and forgave himself for being the one who led to his family's death, but even so, I personally didn't feel like he got braver, although his interactions with Ryoshu and the situation at the club were funny, yes
@@visper5380
Like Rodion and Gregor, Sinclair chapter didn't end up with him "fully" completed like Yi Sang and Ishmael.
-Hermann for Gregor
-Sonya for Rodion
-Gubo for Yi Sang
-Ahab for Ishmael
-If we follow the theory that i mentioned, Kromer for Sinclair.
It is just that, Yi Sang and Ishmael are more fullfilled than the 3 others.
Canto 5 in a few words is “Wanted… Blood… Wanted Black And White…“
2:23 I want to cuddle him.
Waaait, I never could have thought of that reference!
I told you dave, I knew you would like Canto 5 lol. I'm glad it restored hope in you for PM, and it genuinely makes me excited for future stuff if this is the kinda quality we can expect going forward! Also, I'm glad i'm not the only one who cried at the end of this canto lol
Dw I cried during the Ahab fight lmao
Crying gang
nah man, I think we all did.
Canto 5 is a masterpiece and I’m glad that it exists.
canto 5 really reminded me how little faith i have in irish people
For me i thought chapter four as something that resonated with me on a really personal level, and because i despise ishmaels personality, similarly to how i disliked yi sang for moping constantly until late canto 4 i didnt think canto five would hold up.
That being said I have not made it to canto 5 lol. no reason anymore I just haven’t been playing much. oops
3:09 heath stealing coupons had a purpose. We just learned it on Christmas. Hip for 6.
i know it's just pm getting better as a whole on the Casual Racism front but it did make me giggle a little seeing the difference between some of vellmori's art and the classic ruina style and how black/dark characters FINALLY have blood holy shit. friend group parallel plays the new cantos and we were just about audibly pogging when starbuck and queequeg showed up. dear lord they finally have more blood in the blood budget
Okay I was honestly skeptical you'd enjoy Canto 5 but I'm really happy you enjoyed it.
Glad to hear you enjoyed canto 5, the Mili song was ace and I really enjoyed the character designs

Smee framing the sinners on stealing Ricardo's coupons is my new headcanon
finished canto 5 last night, and was wondering who that pallid person was who flashed and helped ishmael pull the heart... god damnit its queequeg and now the waterworks have started again
There is definitely more I can discus about Canto 5 but I'm going to need to replay and revisit the story if I want to thoroughly discus it all, and preferably somewhere that isn't in a RUclips comment section, which seems to be the best place to get actual Limbus Discussion(I avoid the PMCH Limbus channels like the plague they are)
It's so over ----> We're so back!
I've had the new Mili song on loop for the past several hours I'm a little addicted to content from this canto honestly.
Huh, I liked Canto 4 a lot more, but this one was also quite enjoyable.
I know everyone has their own opinions, but not liking canto 4 is kinda rough my guy, love your content tho.
HE HATES IT, IT'S OVER
I think the fight with the middle was silly, but fit because it showed not just how powerful he was, but also just how petty they actually were, like they killed an entire family because a _kid_ from that family spilled Icecream over a shirt or wardrobe that someone in the middle really liked.
PM loves to take real world things and up them to 100, so I don’t doubt that the middle could be as petty as we saw Ricardo be then, (though there’s probably more to it in the lore as to why the hair coupon was such an insult to him, maybe akin to religion, I don’t know.)
It was just a coupon for a very expensive hair saloon.

That's what you get when the fandom is a hivemind of sleeper agents. The Cult requires full loyalty, or you'll be claimed a heretic, and crucified.
I feel like that’s the curse of a ton of different fandoms unfortunately
Yeah I'm willing to say this fantom in particular is pretty open to discussion but to be fair I've only met a genuine few bad apples who've wanted my head for my takes.
Luckily I've already cultivated my slice of the fantom pie and all my videos are met with mature responses and arguments
if you liked that just you wait for the head hooligan id and canto only for him
I absolutely incredibly enjoyed the story of Canto 4.
I wish you the best of luck with both limbus and life
the indigo elder is one of my new favorite characters he's so fucking cool
I cried for like 10 minutes straight
I'd say that my only major problem with this canto is that the plot relies too much on getting the crew into an inescapable situation only for someone to swoop in and defeat the overwhelming enemy in a single swipe. It was in prologue, during the fight with Kromer and by the third time with Big Brother the pattern becomes too apparent
The prologue was setting up vergil
The kromer one was blatant bad writing and ludonarrative dissonance
This one was also kind of forced but at least the battle against Ricardo was tough enough that I didn't feel cheated for losing to him canonically
@@DinoDave935 Can you elaborate about chapter 3 one.
@darklurkerdarklurker9106 I absolutely crushed kromer to pieces in the fight but the cutscene after said "whoops sorry you lost lol"
( spoilers beyond this point. )
Although, I do hope for a very end of the game ending credits fight or something that has Roland and Angela fighting outskirts monsters like they did with the Head. That would be cool!

pass on actually is my favourite because it flashback that sinner through story. each sinner have a way to express their different in the song like gregor just the based, rodion is more like lullaby, sinclair is well a boy singing so not really in sync, yi sang (the goat) have a mix with poem in it and having a changing bg :o, now we have more happier ish song with lor bg. I hope it will good and reflect with the sinner too
ALSO PLEASE UPDATE BASE EGO OF GREGOR, RODION, SINCLAIR AND YI SANG.

I really liked Yi Sang's character development after his canto and I really hope ishmael will get one in future cantos (if she'll get screentime, of course)
Imho Chapter 4 being long isn't bad thing, considering it's a gacha game and all your options are Main story and Mirror dungeons. Also Donbaek fight is lovely, I love theme of it so much)
Chapter 5 is charming too, "Compass" is banger, and Idk why, but PM changing Ishmael's Snagharpoon line after the end of Ch.5 is adding so much attachment to the story for me.

Not Liking Canto IV just because of bad pacing is a sin, also the coupon heathcliff took was probably for Cath and will be explained in Canto VI.
it's not just because of bad pacing>
But also the concept incinerator getting the spotlight, railway and dungeons becoming canon things the sinners experience, more stuff on mirror worlds and a lot more things that drag it down for me

@@DinoDave935i swear the concept incinerator only had like what 2 story bits about it idk where ur getting the focus on it from
The fact that this show up the minute I just finish Canto 5 is funny to me
But fr Canto 5 made my ass cry 💀 and in my opinion might be best Canto so far even better then Canto 4
Do hope Canto 6 can be as good as Both Canto 4 and 5 or even better tho
Love the video but... 20 hours to beat the canto? You take snack breaks every half hour or what happened here brother?
12 hours, adn I stopped to play yakuza for like 2 while I waited for some enka to refuel because I didnt want to use a box
Chapter 5 slaps hard, only thing I didn't really like was how ish kinda resets at the end? It's like she's just gonna act the same as she did before except this time it's genuine I guess
Chapter 5 to me kind of exemplified something in Limbus. I liked the story, I really liked the character stuff for the most part, but I feel like it would have been better if it was in a different game that didn't have to stick to the whole mobile game formula of having short story bits broken up by a punch of pointless fights, the abnos in the white whale felt pretty out of place and siltcurrent is just way less cool and creepy than the OG
Basically what I'm saying is if Limbus company was just a visual novel i would eat that shit up
But those don't make gacha money.
Also one thing: Lesbian Ishmael 👌👌👌👌
why are you so against sp drain?
because it's artificial difficulty that only promotes paid for battlepass ego like Fluid Sac
I personally disagree@@DinoDave935
@@sleepylad951 each to their own but fluid sac is a personal heavy crutch so maybe it's just my experiences talking
I do get that fluid sac is really good but honestly I barely ever find myself using it, and if you really need something to counter sp drain and dont have fluid sac there's always base faust ego@@DinoDave935
Glad to see someone else didn't like canto 4
I also dont like Ahab and co. being alive either, for me it feels like plot armor that they survived pallidification
Its still well done though if we leave these few gripes out.

Sadly It still didnt restored my faith, but made it worse
For Canto 6 to ruin it.
