It's intricate work. Personally, I would find jewellery that doesn't sit flush to me uncomfortable, but I would definitely wear a smaller version on a bracelet or even smaller ones as earrings ❤
Thankyou 🥰 yes I soldered the outside rings to one half and the middle one to the other side, then when the sphere is shut they all align for the chain to be threaded through ☺️

I wonder if there are famous gold- or silversmiths just like there are famous painters. I only know of Albrecht Dürer's father, Albrecht Ajtosi (Albrecht Dürer Senior, the development of the name Ajtosi to Dürer is a nice linguistic story). Albrecht Dürer (an absolutely fascinating artist and mathematician) also begun in his fathers footsteps but later went for painting. One of his brothers learned their father's métier. Do you have a favorite silversmith (or a metalsmith in general) as your inspiration? I like your work, it has this spirit of ancient times.

To be honest it was just where ever it was starting to stretch out too much, it was something I hadn’t factored in that I’d need to do until it was happening 😅 but once I’d cut the sides it was so much easier to form the dome shape. I just made sure when I cut the sides it wouldn’t make the piece fall apart. I definitely learnt a lot on this one 😊x
Sometimes it’s hard to show every part of the process clearly so I understand it may look confusing. The ‘pin’ goes into the tube to create the hinge, after riveting both ends it holds in the tube 🙂

You could take both pieces of the silver plate glue them together with a pattern design on the top that way when you cut them out their identical
