I like him, too. Overall, I have been really impressed with the defense. Lot of great plays, but the catching has been disappointing for most. Too many balls getting by. Kids don't block much any more. Too many trying to pick them out of the dirt. In fairness, a lot of talented pitchers with great stuff (harder to catch).
That final out is a tough way to learn a valuable base running lesson. He didn't have to run in that situation. The batter can't attempt to make 1st safely on a missed or bouncing strike 3 when 1st base is occupied. I'm sure he'll never forget that rule again.
I don't think he forgot the rule, i think he got caught too far off the bag on a ball in the dirt. The catcher made a clean play and he was stuck in no mans land.
Hawaii is a very good team but needs a little more pitching depth. Southern California was the better overall team in the West Region but Hawaii has a dominant ace & won a one-and-done championship game.
Hawaii’s 1st & 2nd basemen are both excellent. Their 3rd baseman made 2 fielding errors & a throwing error that cost them the game. Still they forgot to bring their bats, except for Taveras, who got a base hit every time.
I think so Much depends on if Hawaii has their ace available..? I mean, plus you kind of have to stretch your ace if you are in their spot now - each team will be progressively better and they gotta win 5 in a row now 😲
Other than Tavares, Hawaii doesn’t have enough pitching to get them thru. Nevada is always good at baseball. A few years ago, these teams would’ve been playing each other in the regionals.
I didn't think their pitching was bad in this game. Just not able to completely shut down the other team from a pitching standpoint. I don't know of another team that has 2 shut down pitchers. I think their defensive mistakes cost them this game. I think if they clean that up they still have a chance.
@@tonytoni1150 Not disagreeing as they will run out of pitching if they go all the way especially having to go through the bottom bracket. The coach has been managing the pitching situation pretty well but it will be harder now that there isn't a long break between games.
That catcher for Nevada with a great heads up play. No hesitation he came up firing. What a way to end. I do think Nevada has a better chance then hawaii anyways. Hawaii pitching hasnt been good outside of the Ace. tonight might have been the best pitching by their staff since districts and they still lost.
Takahashi was Hawaii second best pitcher during regionals and they have yet to pitch him also he should be top 4 in the lineup nothing lower check his stats
I knew my Maui team was under dogs. However, every team that made it to Williamsport are good teams. Still holding out for another US team. International teams will be a challenge.
NV plays their 3rd game Tuesday vs TX. Winner will be 3-0 and automatic seed in US Final. Loser will be 2-1 and join the other teams with 1 loss. If you lose twice, your out. The US Final will be between the 3-0 team and the last remaining team with only 1 loss.
Hawaii in all honesty probably shouldn't be there these Tournaments are supposed to be Double Elimination except for the Championship Game and they Lost to California in West Regional and should of had to beat California Twice but snuck out of Town with 1-1 Record against California and they most likely weren't going to win 2 games because their pitching is their liability so far.....Ball is moving around field to much and allowing Base runners to Rome around the Bases that it's a problem when you in close games no doubt about it...
I know how dbl elimination works, but why did Pa have to play 4 games, while TX only played 2? That doesnt seem fair. Every team should have to play the same amount of games in a given time span; like every team should have 2, then 3... games under their belt.
This Hawaii team is overrated, it’s going to be Japan or Chinese Taipei, that wins it all. Not counting out Venezuela, they just have a harder road now. But it will definitely be an international team. Cheers, watching from Scotland 🏴. Any other non-Americans here?
Japan just snuck past Venezuela. Japan is always a favorite to win and Chinese Taipei. Japan has won it all 11 times and Chinese Taipei 17 times. I enjoy watching the way Asians teams play, they are very respectful.
@@MrJking065 I said the same thing after watching the Japan game today. All of them are all around respectful, even the way the pitchers gently rest the ball on the mound at the end of the innings😂
The problem I have with some international teams is that they select talented players from a larger pool, whereas the American teams are all stars from their local municipalities. Also, some international teams have been known to use older kids.
FYI Warriors use to paint their finger nails. The first recorded use of nail polish was in China in 3000 BC, and some believe it may have originated even earlier in India during the Bronze Age. In 3200 BC, Babylonian warriors began painting their nails with black or green kohl to indicate their status. The upper class wore black, while the lower class wore green, and they would also match their lips to their nails. The Chinese also used nail polish to differentiate between social classes, with those in power wearing red.

Who made these terrible brackets? How does nobody else take notice? Why the hell did neveda and Texas only have to win 2 games to move on to quarterfinals?? Meanwhile Hawaii and Florida had to play 2 and be in the same position as Nevada and Texas, with less pitching in there arsenals. How is this freaking allowed and fair?
Teams keep playing until they lose 2 games, then they're out. NV plays TX Tuesday. The winner becomes the only perfect 3-0 team and gets automatic seed in the US Final. The loser joins the other teams in the lower bracket playing elimination games. The team left standing with only 1 loss plays the perfect 3-0 team in the US Final.

Western region finally blinks. California won the winner’s bracket, and Hawaii the year before.

They should make a rule where the first base coach can’t signal safe every time there’s a play
