Honestly after a point all the technical stuff went over my head. Then I heard your Brother and his fam were expecting another baby. Like straight up I'm a stranger but please give them my love all the same. Wishing them all the best in health and happiness for the new baby. They looked great in their cosplays too, what a beautiful family.
that's me! thank you so much :D
You're very welcome. I'm so excited for you! I love hearing about new babies, they're like the best news.
Awe, thank you so much. =)
That's the cutest turret I've ever seen!
Agreed!
I'd shoot at it
Thanks Bill this has really helped. Going to a con later this year and wanted to take a group photo with all our cosplay. Now I know how to take the best photo possible
Fantastic!
Fantastic costumes. Great tips. Thank you!
You're welcome! =D
"Grab" timming on point!
HAH! I'm glad you caught that. =D
THOSE COSPLAYS ARE SO CUTE I CANT
Always get permission in writing to be on private property. Even if its just an email or a text message that clearly says 'yes you have permission to be there.' If its just a verbal agreement then its your word against theirs if they decide they don't want you there.
Good addition!
This is such a great channel!
Thank you!
These tips are helpful, not only for cosplay but non cosplay too! danke
You're welcome!
if you know how to change your focus points, try to play around which part of the subject your focus is on. The typical scenario is when you're looking at the barrel of a gun. You can focus on the gun or the face
Ooh that's a great tip!
Once you cut to the location part, I was like "Wait....Wait wait wait....Is that freaking GASWORKS PARK!? OMG!!!! (I live about 30 min south of Seattle so I've been there a TON [ever since I was born basically], as well as Freeway Park, since I go to Sakuracon and PAX at the Con Center in Seattle..)
AHHH GAS WORKS PARK! SO AWESOME! tHANKS FOR THE TIPS
You're welcome!
gas works park is an awesome backdrop
Yeah! I'm always excited to have a good reason to go back there.
Loved the torbjorn beard, please, show more detail of it. Is made with what?
I think it's upholstery foam. They might have more info on their page: facebook.com/DoranClanCreations/
I'm getting into the cosplay photography, so this video was very helpful and just on time. Thank you very much!
That is splendid! Have fun!
2:59 best parkour spot
You showed two really popular spots for Parkour also!!!
Oh I bet Gas Works Park is AWESOME for parkour!
Punished Props it is! Freeway park is great also.
Do you ever use Photoshop on your costume shots? I'm a big ps nerd and place my costume into existing backgrounds and do color correction/ touchup in program. as long as you photograph against a solid contrasting color you can do some really cool stuff.
Most of my post processing happens in Lightroom. If I need to do any compositing, I go to Photoshop, but I try to capture as much in camera as possible whenever I can.
Woooaaahhh GH5! Fancy :D
I know, right?! =D
Punished Props Yeah you already had good production quality, but I see things are about to get even prettier lol.
Those overwatch Cosplay's are freaking adorable
Yeah they did a great job. =D
soo bright! =P
You were a champ!
In the beginning of the video all I thought was "I see that lance helmet in the background, I see you"
I think my Koltira Deathweaver, Agent Venom, Black Suit Spider-Man will be challenging on location, because were I live, its kinda dull.
Perfect excuse for a road trip!
Hey Bill, do you use a sealant after you have painted 3D printed parts, or just painted foam parts?
Nearly everything I make gets sealed with some kind of clear outer layer. For foam I like varnish and for rigid props like 3D prints I'll use a rattle can of clear spray paint or airbrush on something like clear lacquer.
Rad, thanks
if I want to do a picture in the woods in the dark what would you recommend for a light
+Nicole Bingham Here's a good blog about off camera lighting: strobist.blogspot.com/?m=1
I forgot for a second that you had a twin! LOL
I sure do! What a handsome guy. =)
thanks I really dont know how to take cosplay shots
You're welcome!
The computer monitor displaying random props and costumes is off.
Strange how something so little seems so strange.
That monitor is ancient and only barely works. Poor guy needed to take a nap.
What phone app is that? ive never seen one that sets it up like a dslr.

Thanks! Looking forward to trying this app out when I regret not bringing the DSLR with me.
my HTC ONE A9 can take awesome photo's and a lot better then normal digital camera's even while outside
Oh yeah cell phone cameras are getting SCARY good!
and do you have a really good cam under $300?
I would keep an eye on Ebay and try to get a deal on something like a used Nikon D3100 and a 50mm f/1.8 lens. You'll probably have to buy each separate from one another, but if you're patient, you should be able to score something for around $300.
Thank you sooo much!!
after seeing the thumbnail i will never kill a turret again....not smiling at least
HAH! Yeah our nephew is a pretty adorable turret.
What if Freeway Park is actually the beginning of the Vex's conversion of Earth?

It jus might be! AHH!
You have a twin bro?
I sure do!
Awesome dude!
200 bucks..... I'm to poor for that lol
bro why you steals chase jarvis quote "the best camera is the one you have on you"
Chase Jarvis is awesome! And yes, I got that quote from him. He's a clever dude.
True that, always happens to me. looks at camera... nah won't need it, half an hour later shit there's so much I could be taking right now.
I used to always keep all my camera gear in the trunk of my car, just in case. Nowadays if I at least have my Sony RX100 on me, I'm ready for most things.
that's the thing with mirror less cameras, much more compact and you don't need to think twice about not needing it as it's so light. I'm a dslr user myself having the monster sigma 18-35mm f1.8. I always have it now on my blackrapid sling.
BTW I'm making my first cosplay suit of a halo 5 mark iv suit. I'm nearly done making it but just keep running out of time to do it with school and homework leading up for my gcse's. many of your techniques helped me. Anyways I love your videos as they really help. keep up the great content : )
0:16 cant tell how much i hate this comic style.. ^^
I think you just did?
