Learn how to make this amazing Origami Cuboctahedron from Herman van Goubergen's Curler Units, for diagram and other origami polyhedra with Curler Units see: www.britishorig...

this is so basic it's almost silly. kusudama always looks so impressive and everyone is delighted with it while you feel slightly ashamed because it really is just repeating the simplest steps over and over !!
LOVE the curlers!
For anyone having trouble getting their paper to stay curled, I used a clothes steamer and held the paper over it once I had shaped the curls (that just kept uncurling unless I held them in place) for about 10-15 seconds. It worked great, I just held the paper and blew on it til it cooled and the shape held beautifully.
I made this from post it notes and it was a BIG hit at my school, EVERYONE wanted one....all thanks to your video, great job!
u r so cooooool. i am now regretting regretting what i was doing for the yrs instead of learning from u. plz be my teacher.
Really loved this. I halved the number of units to make awesome flowers (6 curler units per flower) that we gave out on Mother's Day at church some years ago. Thank you for sharing!
must stop drooling over coolest design ever....
this is realy great and simple model, unit is simple, but attaching is nerve training
oh my! This is so easy! So much easier then I thought it would be anyways. Only 12 pieces of paper I think this made my day :D
Love it! I'm so fascinated on how they intertwine by curling around each other, it looks so simple. I will make this, thank you so much! :D
hah! I just made one after seeing this video again and used 40mm sized paper. I thought it would be ridiculously hard, but it was actually very very easy with a toothpick :D
the whole thing is barely bigger than a Quarter! Thanks again for posting this, it's one of my favs :)
*looks at beginning picture* *jawdrop* *sees waterbomb base* *looks at beginning picture again* Oh, I get it! *jaw still dropped in amazement*
Wow!! You make so amazing origami!!! Now I'm your fan!!!
WAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOO...!!!! BELLISIMO... IMPRESIONANTE......... GRACIAS ME HAS DADO UNA GRANDIOSA IDEA PARA MI PROYECTO....... GRACIAS...
I thought this was hard, but after this tutorial, it's simple and fun! THANKS! :)
@marielou14 Yes, if:
You have paper that isn't flammable.
You use glue.
You take out a piece from the bottom, so you can put in the bulb.
Good idea. I might do it, too.
it finnaly finished this, i gave to my mom for mothers and ran into some problems but i made it anyways. thanks alot!
I've been practicing this flower with different types of paper; computer, washi and a 2-sided glossy Origami paper - kind of thick. I have been using 5 x 5 in paper. Should I use the 3 x 3 for a better curl? Also, while I was folding a Bomb Base for a Strawberry, I was guided to always maintain 2 flaps on each side. Would you consider this true while curling these flaps? - I get confused at that point. Thank you for sharing your tutorials.

Interesante y muy bien explicado.
Una imagen vale más que mil palabras.
I made it :). It is pretty cool, although it is hard to keep all parts together.
It's just amazing... and your tutorial is very clear... and even funny, in the most "dramatic" moment! xP
Jokes apart, great job!
Oh, and those link seem very, very useful!
;-)
5*... and adding it to my favorites, of course!
this music is mind numbing but great video :D im gonna try this as soon as a find a lot of square paper
What kind of paper did you use? Is it 75 g, 80 g or what?
does it matter what direction the curls go?
You are the best, you have everything!
oh god, thanks for that calming bg music, otherwise i probably would've gone mad trying to twist crap in the right places orz
what's the best way to keep your curls tight?
i have just one question, what size are the squares? 16x16 cm?
Great job! Easy to understand and it looks soo cool
Good instructional video for this module but you were shaking a lot during the video but still good ^.^
would it not be easier to make it with more curler units?
where do u get your paper?I've done a lot of origami but only with printing paper.
Nice that is easy to make but looks fantastic
yay, done it!, btw used 16x16cm, it is actualy fairly big, bigger then expected XD
Thank u very much barbabellatje!
how cool!....but what's the "payper" u use
i use square post it notes they work really good
if you make a tight crease at the start of the curl or the edge of the fold..you.know., it will stick better grab lock hold attach...nywy..cool and thanx(offer and accept)
good jod i liked this video because it was the third one i had to watch to make this origami !!!! thank you a lot !! you explain it better than the two others ^^
Wow, I got inspired !!! Surely will try it.
@dillyg0701 you can find the paper at craft stores. Like micheal's, thats where i get mine you can get a pack of 500(assorted colors) for 10 dollars i think
wow... amazing and beautiful...
What kind of paper do you use? My paper won't stay curled ._.
It is a great work.
Does the shape turn out to be more than 6 inches?
Wow 12 pieces of paper for something will be on my desk not touched forever once done
Hey Barb, I was just wonder what site you get most of your stuff from? I've been trying to find new ones to make since I get very bored, and Tetris can be interesting for only so long. If you could please send me a message or reply to this I'll love you forever!
Very pretty. Going to try this one.
Is it possible to make something like this with 24 units?
it looks just so lovely!
that's completely awesome. I so need to do this.
i make it cool
great tutorail its so beautyfull
OMG you would be good at doing the rubix cube. With me... the brain is willing but boy try to get my fingers to do this would be a nightmare. lol lol
try sticky post-it notes they may be sticky but rub them on your shirt and they collect lent and become less sticky they're still pretty annoying though.
ESTO ES GENIAL... VERDADERAMENTE ARTISTICO
si yo tambien lo pense y todos sus videos me recuerdan mario 64 saludos
Think its normal paper or like paper thats more like harder u know like these boxes..
I have alot of this paper its normaly inn these book stores i think :D
seems a little hard to keep together, but its still cool
how do u keep em together?
Is it the camera or are you shaking at 3:16
i find using a toothpick to make the curls easier. :)
Wow! those are beautiful.. I've never been good with the whole origami stuff.. My hands just don't do what my brain tells them to do =P But this is to interesting not to try! lol By the way would construction paper work? Or maybe sticky notes? I don't have any of that kind of paper..
I did it! Oh, to put all pieces together was difficult...
Thumbs up if you spent an hour making this, nearly gave up, but managed to finish it!
what measure the leaves?
Tricky little devils those curls... =)
Great vid! Thanks.
