- HOLDEN WB Ute Build ep#5 Engine & transmission removed
WB Ute build - welcome to ep#5 Engine removal, join me on this epic journey removing the 308 & T350 from my 82 WB Ute. it has some ups and downs but i get there in the end. i sure have come along way in this short amount of time!! we find alot of dirt / baked on mud from the 2010/11 floods under the tray & cab.
Great job so far. Really like how you explain what you are about to do. Keep up the good videos.
thanks Stuart, im happy your enjoying the channel so far. the build is about to get interesting and the hard work is about to come 👍im very much out of my comfort zone in this build but loving every minute of it
Good one mate. I encountered all those same problems the first time I pulled the engine out. The second time I pulled the engine I had removed the the entire front clip and geez it was so much easier!
i bet was easier!! it was a fun job to finish, lot of little obstacles but we got there. let the body work begin 😄 how's the stato coming along?
@@goldshiftgarage it's going well, I've got footage of when we started it for the first time so that will be the next video on that process and Paul, my restorer is currently doing the wheel arches so that video will follow.
Nice work so far.
Grumple Garage happy you enjoyed it. body work up next
Thought you would have removed the nose cone and radiator to make it easier, they will need a cleanup at some point. Almost ready to remove my 202 now as well. Like you I just want a daily driver, just renew all the rubber and bushings, paint up the chassis, remove the rust and get it doing what it should do. You never see any of the old girls around except as show cars on permits. I’m going to get as much hp as possible from the 202 and see about a v8 down the track. I love the space around the 6, so easy to do stuff on it. Good vid. 👍
oo0spyder0oo - sounds like we are doing a similar style project. im the same as im only cutting out the rust / clean up the chassis, new paint and a very tough 308 -355? ive seen the engine pulled out without removing the nose cone so i wanted to give it a go - luckily it worked out 😄Body work up next 👍
Awesome ep man! You got any bread? 🥖
plenty for you Rick 🤣
Get it back in before the nose panel to make it much easier.
i have learnt alot during this build, the engine will definitely be going back in when the front is still off. thanks for the comment 👍
Well done! point of no return now! totally loafed!
it sure is, its totally loafed atm
good episode no snakes ,the motors out now how far are you going to go ,even with a plan it can get out of hand .''i'll just clean this now that doesnt look right ,then i will give this a lick of paint now that doesnt look right what im trying to say is if ya got a theme in mind keep to it,whether it be the stock look or chrome and polish the lot have a mind set and keep to it ,but look foward to the journey with ya
happy you liked it graham! motor wise is going to be built by a pro - tough 308 / 355 stroker. body wise will be a bigger job, cutting out the rust / cleaning up the chassis / and body work paint. your right it will probably grow arms and legs but im still not building a show. just something to show off and enjoy on the weekends
You mentioned the in part 2 or 3 about removing the side badges . Prepsol or a hairdryer will be an enormous help to stop brakage of the badges
thanks for the tip Jim, the hairdryer sounds like a winner!
👏🍺👍🏻
