In this video, we will be exploring an aspect of quantum theory that seldom gets discussed, mainly because it has jack shit to do with quantum physics and this description is just filler. In fact we won’t be discussing quantum physics here at all.

To be fair, "trollolololol" is a pretty fair, concise, complete, and simple description of quantum mechanics.
I scrolled down here to make that exact point. Since you beat me to the punch, I will simply state that a well placed trololololol video is always appreciated except by those who live online and cannot escape it. The downvoters need to go get some sun ^_^

Okay, real talk. I’ve actually really wanted to get part 3 out to you guys for a very long time, but the conjunction of circumstances has prevented its development thus far. The script has been ready for nearly 3 years now, but I’ve run into some major obstacles when it comes to production. The cost of digital materials (animations and the such) in order to give the quality of presentation to which you’ve become accustomed is too high (we’re talking on the order of $300-$500), and on top of that, as you all know, grad school is not exactly a cakewalk. There’s a reason why this channel was mostly inactive for a year. Video production takes time, especially for projects like these, and I don’t think that I upload frequently enough to justify the crowdsourcing of funds for future projects. I’m looking into some other solutions at the moment, but rest assured that there will be parts 3, 4, and 5. I just need you to be patient.

I may be unusual, but when playing the QM videos I tend not to watch them, but listen to what you're saying. The visual side isn't particularly important for me.

Funny thing is, when I first found your channel, it (and this series) was one of the reasons I decided to go for a physics degree. Now, I am soon getting my bachelor's degree with exceptional grades and will start my master's in theoretical physics right away. So, thank you very much, you will always be one of the reasons why my life is how it is and how it will be, filled with beautiful maths that may or may not describe reality.

@@TheRealXartaX To understanding quantum _theory_ is "easy". However, to know or understand what the math represent is something nobody does. That is what Feynman meant, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think you understand what understand means. Or a scientific theory for that matter.
TheRealXartaX I don’t see what was wrong with their comment or how it conflicts with the definition of a scientific theory. The mathematics of quantum theory is definitely understandable, but there are multiple different interpretations of which we don’t know is true. I think that’s a good way of describing what Feynman meant.

If you read his post it says "edited". What he initially wrote is that it refers to understanding the math, not the theory. And the math is part of the theory. "what it represents" was added later.
That aside, the quote isn't even originally Feynmans. The first variant comes from Niels Bohr and goes along the lines of "If you can fathom quantum mechanics without getting dizzy, you don't get it".
Lastly, Feynman did not refer to a lack of understanding what it represents. What he's talking about is that we do not know what causes the wave function collapse.
This was more informative than anything Hovind's ever produced.

I even liked this video for the simple reason that I want to recognise your 1st 2 parts are some of the best treatment on the subject I've ever seen, putting otherwise elite and highly qualified educators to shame. Here it is 2023, and we are STILL waiting for part 3. Five plus years, I think it's time we face facts; he isn't ever going to finish the series. Don't know what happened, but it's really disappointing.
The problem with quantum theory is the expansion of the universe, nothing can diversify under no pressure and it is skipping around. Put it under pressure and you may have something . . .
King Crocoduck at least understands that it doesn't really matter whether he makes Part 3, or NOT, Scooby-Doo is rope-a-dope and all out of Aw-roooos to give, and I'm not feeling too good myself. This may work for you but if it doesn't, oh well.....

There cannot be a part three because the first two are flawed by the assumption that all things are static; but we observe the Universe expanding at an ever increasing velocity yet we do not apply that same relative velocity to the electron; we assume it stays the same size but if it did, how could the universe expand? - a particle behaves like a wave because it is expanding so the electron in orbit around in the atom us getting larger and larger and so is its radius of gyration meaning the atom is also growing in sync with the universe with centrifugal force playing a major role as well - big stuff like Earth expand faster than small stuff like me so I feel a push up.under my feet - that push is called gravity - see! - it is simple after all.

They can quantize time to a Planck unit where it instantly moves from unit to unit, like the framerate on your computer. The question is how much time does it stay on each Planck unit? Therefore spacetime must be emergent from some much deeper objective facts.
This was most informative, but I think a far more pressing issue for us all is the dangerous levels of dihydrogen monoxide in our environment (our drinking water is inundated with with it, for example).

Time is a much harder one and grad school comes first. We can wait.

I like to watch your videos with background noise while I do other things. After a full two minutes of this beauty, I wondered how long the 'intro' would last for. I skipped to the end and found the intro to have kept going, and ended up chuckling. Nice! Look forward to the real video.

Yes, some images will make your explanations a little easier to understand (anyone who says they really understand QM has missed the point - paraphrasing Bohr, I know), but they don't have to be all singing and dancing. We've had the singing and dancing today! Glad to know you're working on more videos, whatever they turn out to be they'll be well worth watching. I'm still subbed and ain't going anywhere!

Dear KC: Hypothetical scenario: a finite bunch of freely traveling neutrons with, let's say, some sort of uniform distribution of initial positions & velocities, out in a universe with nothing else in it. Now, GO! What happens to them? Being neutrons, is gravity the only force that acts on them? I conjecture they would all collapse towards the collective initial center of mass. So, would they form a neutron star?
I know nothing about the strong or weak forces (beyond wikipedia & RUclips). I don't even know how to calculate consequences (velocities of particles) from the strong or weak forces.
