- SVS have used CES 2024 to launch their latest Ultra Evolution speaker system. The line-up features three new floor standers, two bookshelf models, one centre speaker and a new Ultra Elevation Atmos style presence speaker. The new range features some interesting technology and Nick Brown gives us the full details in our interview.

sadly the price increase for canada will be gross. 🤢
that dudes head in the demo room. looks like 12+ inches above that tweeter. i guess the vertical dispersion is amazing.
Shape reminds me of Focal Kantas, twitter sounds like something out of Bowers and Wilkins, acoustic lens is employed prominently in Paradigm Persona and Founder series, opposing woofers are familiar to KEF as well as SVS own 3000 Micro subwoofer. Call me intrigued especially at the asking prices, which are a fraction of the above.
every speaker shape nearly. is all the same.
BTW I love SVS subs, I've got two SB3000 in my HT. Goodness they are good!
A quick calculation tells me that if you stand, let's say, 5 meters away from your speakers, sound will take 14.5 milliseconds to reach your ears at 20°...So the question is; Does it matter if your treeble are about an inch forward compared to the tweeter? Does your brain able to pick up the delay difference between the frequencies at such speed?! I leave it to you folks...😁 marketing...marketing...
10 kHz has about 1.5 inch wavelength so it could help keep the phase of the two divers aligned.
@@mesterha The multiple drivers inside a speaker receive signals accordingly from to the crossover board. Nothing to do with the distance from the speaker to your ears as claim by the dude in the video. Also i don't know why you talk about 10Khz when frequencies constantly change?!
It's a gimmick! It's been debunked by Floyd Toole in his book. It's the same regurgitated bull as Wilson Audio with their myriad of adjustments...
@@dihydrotestosteronedid you hear them yet? No.
@@rockroll9513 We are not talking about a brand signature here but rather a feature which has proven to be pointless and pure marketing. It doesn’t mean that these speakers would necessarily be bad. On the contrary SVS is a good brand.
So basically a 15k system for a 5.2.4 system 😮 not including a avr cables tv etc
That center channel at 700 is exciting. I already got a nice sub and 2 good bookshelves.
@@Capybarainahumansuit the current one is 799 the new one will be 899
I mean it's whatever configuration works for you, and remember that many of us are already in the hobby. I already have an Ultra Center and 2x PB-1000 Pros. In a few years I could see myself getting a pair of Evolution Towers, a pair of Evolution Bookshelves, and 4 Evolution Elevations. That's $6,100 which is something I can easily save for over 24 months by setting aside $250 a month.
Did they show home theater receivers for 2024?
For the tweeters, check the Paradigm PPA Lens... SVS invents nothing new.
A Lot of big made up words.
No doubt the end result is a great quality system - however seeing their demo room during the video - it doesn't (for practical reasons at the venue) have a ceiling - surely that will affect the quality of the demo (they were demonstrating it for AV not just music in the clip) Or are there no upwards firing speakers in this system? Again - thanks for your CES coverage :-)
😂
Upward fire speakers are garbage.
Did they improve their crossover with quality parts? 🤔
@@Zenos174😂
Still cheap parts?
@@Zenos174 Does what job? Wouldn't superior parts produce superior (measured) performance?
@@mattrismattnot necessarily
@@rockroll9513 Surely superior _audible_ performance would be the intent, right? If SVS didn't use superior crossover parts for this speaker line than they did with the Ultras, they'll be a pass from me. Given the opportunity with this 'refresh' - and at these prices - to go so far, yet cheap out on the internals would be simply _inexcusable._
looks like they ripping off Focal
The focal look mentally and physically disabled
I love svs, have subs and elevation but couldn't get the mains as the price difference here in the UK is extreme compared to USA. I wish this could be addressed. If I could get to similar prices allowing for currency exchange I'd bite.
Gimmicky
Never seen force cancelling, AND its ported. So 8 drivers, far apart 4 ports. Thats a smooth response. Smother than just a single pair of bass woofers, ala everything else.
Luckily for me I don't need towers cause I got a goldenear supersub xxl but I'm interested in the center channel.
@@CapybarainahumansuitI have the ultra center channel and it's very good. Off axis is amazing.
Hello Everyone !
Not going to lie, this sounds like a lot of marketing snake oil. I am hoping reviewers actually test numbers they claim.
Not going to lie, they look perfectly legit and will probably be an incredible bargain. SVS is probably the largest hifi company in the world if not top 5. Snake oil lmao. You read to many forums.
Not going to lie, everyone said about my PB-1000 Pros putting out solid dBs below 20Hz... that it was snake oil. And then the frequency response curves came out and things like adjusting PEQ with the app and everyone had to drop the false "snake oil" narrative. Seriously, how hard is it to find and SPL meter reading like XTZ or a setup with REW... the graphs can be easily found and they meet - if not exceed in some setups - what SVS claimed for their prior line.
Pure advertising
Advertising at a trade show like CES… yeah I’m sure the other speaker brands aren’t doing the same thing…
seems like this might be a bright sounding series
They are saying this is timbre matched to the prior aluminum dome tweeter. If that is the case then my experience with the prior Ultra series suggests that these won't be overly bright like Klipsch Reference.
