This randomly appeared in my recommended and I just had to watch it. But as an American myself my personality and the way I think leans more to how most Europeans think and so I don't think like your average typical American guy. And being in this society I feel pressured to think that girls are going to expect me to do everything and be a "gentlemen", like for example pay for the dates, and if I don't they'll think differently about me. That's why I wish I lived in Nederland, because Dutch girls like to be seen as equals, for example, the guy paying on the first date. No guy will ever win over a Dutch girls appreciation for them if they are persistent to buy them dinner, or anything else and this is advice to non Dutch guys who don't know much about foreign cultures. If you want to keep her interest in you, be ok with saying "Ok" or if you really don't want her to pay for you and the food at least tell her to split it. You pay for half and she pays for half that goes the same with everything else. Just because she's a girl doesn't mean you are allowed to be macho or treat her like she's fragile. But this doesn't go for just the Dutch. Some Germans and Nordic people are like this too. But its defiantly not and shouldn't be like "hey there's a puddle in front of you, let me put my nice clean expensive jacket over it for you to step on, because that's how much of a gentlemen I am" which I feel a lot of girls, specifically American girls, really like and want in a guy. I honestly don't believe in all that romantic stuff so I hope the girl I end up marrying isn't either.
