The blue picture of the woman is La Llorona, or "The Weeping Woman" in Spanish, is a vengeful ghost in Mexican folklore who is said to haunt bodies of water and mourn her children. In some versions, she is a ghost, while in others she is an immortal wanderer. In all versions, she is said to weep loudly at night, and her siren-like wails are said to lure people to their deaths.
No one else I watched really went over the swatches of that painting slowly, so I didn’t even know La Llorona was one of the swatches. I’m familiar with her lore being American and around people from latam for most of my life. So uh,,,,why the flying *fudge* is she in the pack about raunchy woohoo and love??? In some stories, she (Maria) killed her kids because the man she was with, the father of her two children, was a Spanish conquistador, therefore he came from money, and she was lower class. He left her to get with a fair-skinned, richer woman and he would have likely taken her sons from her. Maria, driven half mad, drowns her kids in the river and takes her own life out of grief. There is literally nothing happy, romantic or sensual about that story
tbh that swatch reminded me more of picasso’s the old guitarist rather than la llorona. probably just meant to represent heartbreak. la llorona also usually wears white
@@Astral_thee_God relax. Its there because the pack is centered around mexico and mexican culture, folklore is included in that. Also heartbreak is a really big part of romance and love, so I think it fits. I think its cool. I dont understand why youre being so dramatic
Soooo much of this would be so good for Spanish builds. This has made my heart so happy to see them FINALLY including Spanish stuff that isn’t SUPER cartoony and over stylized. Like this is real every day Spanish style stuff and I’m so hyped for it
The water tank the sims team included is found on top of roofs in most houses in Mexico. And the “food warmer” is usually used for tortillas ^_^ Your review was so fun! Thanks for posting it!!
Can we at least give them props for including a good purple swatch? There aren't nearly enough good purple items in this version of the game! Also, they included navy, and I love navy blue. The B/B is a bit hit or miss, as usual. Horse Ranch spoiled us with a fairly complete catalog. I do wish they had included more brown. It would have made the assets more versatile. I understand why they didn't, but what's more romantic than chocolate brown? Yum!
Oh no, no, no, Aden. I remember exactly that you wanted to rebuild Windenburg. There are 2 nightclubs (one in the old quarter, the other in the new). These leather wallpapers arrived just in time)))) P.S. I really like that you are always honest with us and with yourself! I looked at other reviews and many people squealed with joy. You have your own opinion and it doesn’t always suit others. You are real!
The round table classified as a coffee table is actually a dining table @25:00, I think it's simply a mistake in the categorization. The dining chairs slot to it.
I have to wonder if it was café table and that got translated as coffee? Or maybe it doesn't translate well into English. I don't know what it's called in a Spanish version of the game.

There are a few variants, but the colorful exteriors are very present due to spanic/portuguese colonization - the city hall where I’m from is a beautiful mustard yellow, and the mid century style + natural woods is kind of what architects tend to go to when aiming for a chic interior/exterior. A lot of official buildings in Brasilia have a “brazilian” mid century style and I’m in love with them 😍
Thanks- very thorough and helps us to really see the objects. Just FYI, since you missed the memo- the cultural reference for the pack is Mexico- not "South America" , and several of the objects and styles do reference that (the paper star lights for example).
It's inspired by Mexico City which is in North America. EA is still keeping it on the continent. I wish we could get Quebec City, Montreal, or Vancouver.
Yes, they are companion wallpapers to the large floral print wallpaper, so you can cover an entire room in coordinating colors, without having to use the print all over.
It makes me so happy to see a few of those doors and windows! The ones with the square patterns inside, as well as the metal ones. FINALLY designs that resemble the ones I see here in Mexico. It was so hard to build a house that felt “real” with the items we had so far. Many other items in the pack I don’t get lol, but they’re fun. The tiger swatch on that first bed is actually a thing. Not that exact same drawing but they’re sold in local markets when it gets cold. Definitely not fancy, but they’re really warm and it’s pretty common to own one of those (we kind of joke about it).
now THIS is a great build & buy overview! i love that you placed the items in all their swatches and laid them out instead of just placing one and flipping through some of the swatches a little bit like a lot of other creators do. this is super helpful, thank you so much

First, I love the way you showed all the wallpaper swatches. Very easy to digest. This pack came out at the perfect time for me lmao. I was feeling in the mood for building those colourful colonial sort of row houses in Mexico City but wasn't satisfied with any of the worlds in game nor the swatches....and then this happened! Personally I am super excited for the solid colours stucco wallpaper. I do recognise it's similar to other things we have in game but I was never satisfied with the others in game when trying to do this style build lmao so (I am so excited to use that Mexican pink one... I do wish they added a dark blue swatch) I love a lot of the more traditional colonial type furniture but I would have loved to see more of it and with more leather swatches like you said. They missed the mark on that one. I do like the new gym equipment but I would have liked to see more /different/ gym equipment.. like functional weights, a bench press, I dunno. Now, those paintings 👀 I love the house number plaque but I wish they didn't do the numbers... it weirds me out and also makes them less versatile (as in it's really gonna stand out if you use it across multiple buildings) I am stupidly excited for that park bench lmao (the metal one) That pattern from movie hangout is Otomi Tenango embroidery. I've been trying for ages to use them in a build but have never successfully finished said builds lmao so maybe this year I will. If it piques your interest it would be cool to have a google earth build for Mexico City. Maybe around Coyoacán. Sorry for blabbering, I'm just excited

I don't know if they every finished them properly. Maybe they have been since the test/preview version was out, but one even has little white bits on it that aren't supposed to be there. Every time I see a cc creator review the pack, they throw fits over how bad the canopies are.
I wish I would have known your creator code a few weeks ago when I pre-ordered this expansion. Never fear though, love, I will definitely remember it for future DLC, as you are by far and away my favorite Sims 4 content creator and I want to be able to support you and your channel in my own small way.

As much as I like the neutral swatches something about the animal print and that tassly curtain has me excited for the buid mode. Also loving the window and doors!
I think this new pack has a lot of really pretty build and buy items. Everything isn't my style, but it'll be fun to create builds far outside of my typical. My favorite are those floral wall papers, all of those swatches are so pretty. I also really like the plaster wallpapers. I live in New Orleans, and I feel like I can really make a nice French Quarter inspired build with that.
I guess someone already said it but that hideous bear rug is also an easter egg from The Sims 1. On another note, I really appreciate that you keep track of what packs certain objects comes from and such. It shows your high level of professionalism I think. That combined with your quite sarcastic sense of humor makes you my uncontested favorite Sims 4 youtuber. Keep up with all the good stuff!
I do love the new items in this game, thank you for showing us in depth what's in it! Looks like there will be a lot for different romance styles - from the more regal, old fashioned vibe like the Goths, to good ol Charmer Don or playboy style with the animal prints to the more cute cuddle fun vibe like Summer holiday where things are more innocent.
That nightclub door reminds me of labia for some reason. What was the point of a swing set? Is it for after your sims woo whoo and have an accident 🤔 Just seems odd to throw a swing set into a romance pack
I really like the picnic bench. It's a style that could be used as a dining table alternative indoors too. Only a couple of the exisiting ones can double up like that.

There's a lot of really well done items in there but some of those are questionable. No idea when I'd use them. Also the rings on that chair, I can't unthink what I thought about those when I saw them😳 I'm also so annoyed with the snakeskin wallpaper with the beams? Cause I think those beams would be cool on even just some plain plaster 😢
Thank you for being so organized with your reviews! It makes it so much easier to watch & absorb the information. Definitely agree that a lot of the color swatches of the plain walls we already have. Really wish they’d embrace more muted & versatile colors for a base game update. I doubt I will EVER use the animal print wallpaper. Sims team NEEDS to go back and redo the textures on a lot of the older objects in game so they’re actually useable.
Just seeing all the swatches out so I can see them like legit love the fact you've done that I've tried watching some other build buy reviews from others and I get stressed at them flicking through each swatch and me having to pause to see each one 😂

The animal print would be a cute moment on one wall with the farm themed bits for kids or something. I know you hate it, but that leather texture with the wood would look great in the Newcrest club. Just a single piece to create the cross...if you know you know 😉

The dark solid wallpapers are at least a perfect color match to the floral rose mural wallpaper. So I can make my feature wall self happy with matching solids lol

Hey, Aden! South American here. Thank you for the review. So, the water tank is not a water heater. In Brazil every house and apartment building has their own water tank at the top to store it. Water supply can be unreliable, so we need to keep a saved amount at all times in case the water company shuts down supply for whatever reason. I recently moved to the US and was shocked to learn that there are no water tanks here. And I had a hard time explaining to my husband why those exist. The one in game looks exactly like the one at my parents house.
The only review I care about because you so good at making builds with EA stuff. 😭 I hope you make apartments on top of the penthouses since the new update came out and we can make penthouses residential rentals.

Omg - we definitely have the same taste; I agreed with you on basically everything - but to be honest I am not that impressed with it altogether, the swatches are too garish; I might use some of those colours in a child's room or a teenager's, but not otherwise - and IF I got the pack it would be for those 'starry nights' at the very end that you also liked very much! I wanna see the vine wallpaper with a bunch of random frames and mirrors all over it as a feature wall. Definitely seen that kind of thing on pinterest. I wonder how well some of the actual vine pieces (both CC and in game) will blend in with it? And fairy lights? Yeah.
It’s funny because almost everything you didn’t like I kinda loved! I would love to use all the art deco stuff and plush things in apartments and manor like builds 😍 but I also loved a lot of the things you loved as well, the night sky lights and some of the doors and windows alone are with buying the pack for! At least when it comes on sale 😅
there are also some bed posters that go around a bed to make it four-poster but they aren't tagged properly and thus can only be accessed by filtering by Lovestruck, going into the search bar and pressing 'enter'
The latin americium vibes are gonna work well with the island pack ideas, i cant wait to see the carribean inspired content and premade lots coming from simmers now. Also never thought i 'd see the day sims has an official st andrews cross as a wallpaper, thats what the wooden boarded reptile print is.

I really wish there was more 'weathering' on some of the brightly colored build items. They just seem a bit too plastic looking as they are.

I guess someone already said it but that hideous bear rug is also an easter egg from The Sims 1. On another note, I really appreciate that you keep track of what packs certain objects comes from and such. It shows your high level of professionalism I think. That combined with your quite sarcastic sense of humor makes you my uncontested favorite Sims 4 youtuber. Keep up with all the good stuff!
I do love the new items in this game, thank you for showing us in depth what's in it! Looks like there will be a lot for different romance styles - from the more regal, old fashioned vibe like the Goths, to good ol Charmer Don or playboy style with the animal prints to the more cute cuddle fun vibe like Summer holiday where things are more innocent.

That nightclub door reminds me of labia for some reason. What was the point of a swing set? Is it for after your sims woo whoo and have an accident 🤔 Just seems odd to throw a swing set into a romance pack

I really like the picnic bench. It's a style that could be used as a dining table alternative indoors too. Only a couple of the exisiting ones can double up like that.

There's a lot of really well done items in there but some of those are questionable. No idea when I'd use them. Also the rings on that chair, I can't unthink what I thought about those when I saw them😳 I'm also so annoyed with the snakeskin wallpaper with the beams? Cause I think those beams would be cool on even just some plain plaster 😢

Definitely agree that a lot of the color swatches of the plain walls we already have. Really wish they’d embrace more muted & versatile colors for a base game update. I doubt I will EVER use the animal print wallpaper. Sims team NEEDS to go back and redo the textures on a lot of the older objects in game so they’re actually useable.
Just seeing all the swatches out so I can see them like legit love the fact you've done that I've tried watching some other build buy reviews from others and I get stressed at them flicking through each swatch and me having to pause to see each one 😂

The dark solid wallpapers are at least a perfect color match to the floral rose mural wallpaper. So I can make my feature wall self happy with matching solids lol

Hey, Aden! South American here. Thank you for the review. So, the water tank is not a water heater. In Brazil every house and apartment building has their own water tank at the top to store it. Water supply can be unreliable, so we need to keep a saved amount at all times in case the water company shuts down supply for whatever reason. I recently moved to the US and was shocked to learn that there are no water tanks here. And I had a hard time explaining to my husband why those exist. The one in game looks exactly like the one at my parents house.

Omg - we definitely have the same taste; I agreed with you on basically everything - but to be honest I am not that impressed with it altogether, the swatches are too garish; I might use some of those colours in a child's room or a teenager's, but not otherwise - and IF I got the pack it would be for those 'starry nights' at the very end that you also liked very much! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!
I wanna see the vine wallpaper with a bunch of random frames and mirrors all over it as a feature wall. Definitely seen that kind of thing on pinterest. I wonder how well some of the actual vine pieces (both CC and in game) will blend in with it? And fairy lights? Yeah.
It’s funny because almost everything you didn’t like I kinda loved! I would love to use all the art deco stuff and plush things in apartments and manor like builds 😍 but I also loved a lot of the things you loved as well, the night sky lights and some of the doors and windows alone are with buying the pack for! At least when it comes on sale 😅
there are also some bed posters that go around a bed to make it four-poster but they aren't tagged properly and thus can only be accessed by filtering by Lovestruck, going into the search bar and pressing 'enter'
