Who knows. But this from someone who blew the head gasket but the pistons where cracked was surprised how it actually ran so well so it’s getting a different sachs 440 with more hp
I could but I definitely don’t have all of the models or know a whole ton about the earlier years of skiroules. There is a Facebook group called skiroule everything and there is a lot of knowledge about all skiroules produced from 66 to 76 and the later prototypes.
@@fouledplugsbluesmokegarage6585 the early ones im not real interested in, just the slanted hood models. I'm in Central Pennsylvania, there was a dealer about 5 miles from where I live now. I've been asking everyone I can think of trying to find a skiroule, but they all disappeared, lol. I just need some knowledge which sleds where tunnel mount engines, which ones where forward mounted in the belly pan. Last week I missed out on a real nice non running 73 rtx 440 for $700, it sold very fast...
@@vtwinaddicted5852 it’s very hard to buy any sort of vintage sled online. This one on my video and 2 others are the first I’ve bought online in years and all 3 for 600 bucks. I’ve put out wanted adds online and posters up too. That is what got me a few rtxs and rts.
These machines still look modern today. They were sooooo far ahead of their time. Cheers.
There was an old RTX here in town in pretty nice shape they were asking 100 buck damn I should have grabbed it.
A little trick to remove exhaust springs is to use a shoe lace. Makes that job a breeze and you even get to keep all the skin on your knuckles lol.
That is so true been there
Especially when I got 15 exhaust springs on my Yamaha VMAX 700 triple piped
awesome pick up mate
Thanks! Was a good find for sure.
Cooked piston due to mouse nest in engine shroud?.....been THERE a time or 2!

Put some mixed fuel down the spark plug holes with an eye dropper
Maybe sometime you can do a video on all the skiroule models and features throughout they're production
