Things to know This game is impossibly hard, and all about trial and error. I have a thousand hours in the game and have yet to be done with it. The whip goes all the way around you. Utilize the back and top of the whip’s hitbox. Bombs are huge. Don’t squander them. Save them for bosses and crates. Think ahead. If a situation looks sketchy to get into, don’t get into it. If a situation looks sketchy to get out of, don’t get into it. Always look down. In case you don’t know, crouching will let you view below. Looking down will eliminate the threat of sudden spikes. There are also different worlds to choose. On 1-4, you can go in the door on the left to go to the jungle. If you pick the door on the right, you will find volcana. On 3-1, defeating the first phase of the boss will open the door to the tide pool. Defeating the second phase will open the temple. Defeating the first and final phase will let you Access the backrooms, where you climb up to find an ankh, which functions as an extra life. In my opinion, the most valuable things in the game are the items. Things like climbing gloves, the jet pack, or other items make your run much easier As for more elite plays, you can hold a bomb in your hands, and throw it just before it explodes to blow up a high up wall. If you time it right, you can whip back an arrow from an arrow trap. It’s not as difficult as it sounds. You can whip it from as short as two blocks away. Robbing the shop is not always a bad idea. The best method is to stand on top of him, throw a rope to stun him, then very quickly pick up his shotgun and shoot him dead. You get all the things for free, but have to deal with shopkeepers for the rest of the game. Keep the shotgun handy. If you’re REALLY ballsy, you can do some ghosting. Basically, that ghost that shows up with “a terrible chill runs down your spine” will chase you to the ends of the earth. If she collides with any gem, she will turn it into a diamond, worth 5000 dollars. The highest priced gem other than it is the ruby, at 1600. Huge price jump. You can maneuver around the ghost without much difficulty, but collide with her and you die. There are 3 separate endings. One ending at 6-4, 7-4, and 7-99. 7-99 is the impossible goal, but if you’re willing to pay your sanity, it’s something to think about. Most obvious and most important, just like with literally everything, Practice Makes Perfect. I prefer to play by myself. Try to get the “Track star” achievement. Having it will just make you a sharper player. If there is literally anything related to Spelunky 2 that you’d like to ask (and I’m fortunate enough for you to see this) reply and I’d love to answer, or you can find some super awesome tutorials on a channel called Israel Blargh!. Progression is a beautiful blooming.
I literally got this game today thinking it wasnt gonna be that hard Ive played it for more than an hour and the farthest ive gotten is the lava place, i died to a exploding robot the minute i got there
