You had a great reaction for this performance. I was also delighted. I also first heard about Poets of the Fall when I was playing Max Payne. Great games and great band! Greetings from Serbia! 🤘
Of course, that's just singing live to pre-recorded instruments. It would have taken a much bigger band to perform it live. At least one more guitar, some kind of keyboard, effect pads maybe more other insruments. Regardless, it was a fantastic show, and the fact that it wasn't fully live doesn't detract from its value. I loved it, and Your reaction was similar to mine. 😁
@@quentin6570 You can hear that lead singer is live bc the audio quality of the mic is pretty bad. better for other singers but their mics volume is too low.
its very interesting to me to see people from Finland to react to stuff like this because of how popular remedy is I often forget that they're headquartered in Finland, I have so much respect for Finland, and i thoroughly enjoyed your reaction.

Yeah, I think that's quite interesting. I've been a fan of Remedy's games since Max Payne 1 and I've enjoyed the fact they seem to add some of the Nordic culture into their games. Especially AW2 and Control has been amazing to play because of Ahti and other references to Finnish culture.
@ it's very cool learning about other cultures and the little things about other countries and im very appreciative of remedy that they're able to do that while also creating a beautifully engaging video game.
Todella puisevaa tilulilu -kitarointia koko albumi täynnä. Ja Kaarlonenhan ei ole mikään hevirumpali. Kolmen tähden heviä. Aleksanterin teatterin sessiot on sen sijaan viiden tähden Poets of the Fallia. ⛄👍
I love the cover you did for this song. I am trying to learn it myself but I'm having trouble with a couple of solos. Any chance we can get some tabs for the solos? (You are doing great with you channel!)

Thank you very much! I'm going to do a tab for the music video version of this song. Probably going to upload it on my Patreon site next week.
One of the questions I was really wondering about is how much of the actual live performance is in there. As you said, it's clear that some orchestration is not live, and I guess rhythm guitar couldn't be performed live as well, but what about bass and solo guitars? I noticed that in some moments the bass player wasn't moving his hand when there was a chord progression, and in other moments his picking hand was not playing while the bass could be heard in the music. As for the solo, I heard some bends or notes progressions when his hand was not playing as well. I'm a musician, but I never played this song before - it'd be interesting to hear your opinion as well :D
My guess is that they were using the similar approach than in Eurovisions where only the lead vocals were done live because the song is also having a lot of layers production wise (rhythm guitars, leads some orchestrations etc.) and in the live production like this there's not a lot of time to have the setup ready to go. As musicians they are amazing and I think they probably could perform the song completely live if needed. Just check out any performance from Poets Of The Fall's latest anniversary tour to see how they perform their original material live.
Using my best judgement and ears I believe that the drums and the rhythm guitar and bass might be recorded tracks but I'd say everything else is live. I hear the slight difference in the lead guitar parts compared to the recording.
This gets me to tears every time I see it.
It's beautiful!
To me too

100 million saw Poets of the Fall, killing it on Spotify at the moment.

And it seems just like the lead singer (the only real life singer) is live

@@FoxyGuyHereit’s not that bad. It’s just not as perfect as the others
@@quentin6570 David and Matthew were also singing live, at least their tone is different than in the game
Yes you're right. As a guitarist I was too focused on the playback guitar and bass ^^"
Sami Järvi looks so happy, it is his pinnacle.
Yep! I think that was definitely one of those "once in a lifetime" experiences
When Sam Lake present in the performance i watch again and again
Oh yes! I'm still watching this performance on regular basis
@ me too like everyday the best song ever...first late goodbye,War, Take Control and now this Herald Of Darkness
Here we go!
Dude your accent is like hearing Sam Lake talking :D
Haha! The Finnish accent is strong here
