What are your favorite "console" first-person dungeon crawlers? I am a gamer that tries all the video game genres but havent found one of this genre that really calls my attention.
@@dahgameps432 Etrian odyssey games, especially the 3DS era of them. Nexus is a masterpiece. If you want more story, the Mary Skelter trilogy is pretty fantastic, though there's a special order for playing that. Its music is insanely good. The stuff from Experience Inc. is also worth checking out; you have very anime stuff like Demon Gaze and more serious stuff like the Saviors of Sapphire Wings / Stranger of Sword City Revisited bundle, which I'd recommend there's a more japanese/horror one called labyrinth of yomi as well. A monochrome sumi-e style one called labyrinth of zangetsu is coming out soon, while if you want something with a different combat you can try Zanki Zero. It's a very rich genre, you can find tons of combat and style variations so it's just up to your taste.

Mary Skelter games are great too, they’ve got more to do in the dungeons themselves, and are genuinely creepy (although so far I’ve only played Nightmares, but I own all three).
The build up to it is REALLY slow, I was worried too but reality is you finish the game without most those Blue spaces full, you'll only fill some for specific bonuses. You start with only a couple of groups, and they're not even going to be 3 reds (the only active ones, blue are passive roles), so most of the first half of the game you play it farly normally Every group acts as one, so you just make a group that is all tanks, all mages etc... so what you're looking at is actually just 5 characters (you CAN give individual orders but it's more of a resource-costing emergency to use items etc...) Basically, they use that as a selling point but in practice it's nowhere near as overwhelming as it sounds.
As the previous commenter said, each group is functionally one character in battle. Gear management is a little bit finnicky, but other than that, having this many characters isn't as complex as it seems from a glance.
Having played Labyrinth of Refrain, I can confirm what's been said about each group of characters functioning as one party member in battle. So while you'll have a lot of individual characters, you won't have to micromanage each one most of the time.
It’s M rated so that doesn’t count as family-friendly. If I have kids and I buy the game, I wouldn’t let ‘em play M Rated games until they’re old enough. It’s something called being a responsible parent.
Okay but I'm confused... What warrants the Mature Age Rating? Normally there would be more to hint in on this than just the age rating itself, but it just looks like a cute RPG with creatable party members?

Never heard of this before but it looks surprisingly good. I like the idea having an army of customizable puppets sounds like it will have a lot of variety and synergies to test out. Though I was kind of hoping it would be a grid based tactics game rather than a turn based RPG but I'll have to check and see what kind of mechanics they employ to add strategy.
@@ian59 This one's a full sequel, it's not just an enhanced version. As such, I'd still recommend you to play the first game. This one IS considered better; more classes, more in field spells that make for a more interesting exploration etc... You'll get to it when you get to it, no rush.
Galères were a type of French slave ships with a bunch of windows for big barks and everyone would work to make it move. I think the game being named "Galleria" is either just cause Galleria or to reference how you have puppet characters that are slaves, thus the slave ships. Kinda messed up but it's cool for people to acknowledge bad events in history every once in a while.
So when does this game come out exactly release date was to be 2/14. But all stores near me claim they don't have it yet. And Amazon and other online stores have march 5th or so as the earliest for delivery

@@MonoReaper there's 2 big connections that heavily imply Refrain is set after 100 Knight but they'd be spoiler-ish so I'll just leave it at that. One you're bound to find out and the other one is from an extra "hidden" event during the true end section, so pretty much at the end. The "little eye gremlin" wasn't a minion per se, more like an actual piece of the full Hundred knight

Well I can guess one of the reasons is that enemies bleed a lot. However I’m not sure why Castlevania: Lament of Innocence got an M rated back in 2003, I’m guessing it’s because of The Forgotten One who’s one of the bosses in the game. But we don’t want this game to have the PS4 and PS5 censored version of Martha is Dead treatment, Do we?
Just like Refrain, gameplay, art, and music looks/sounds pretty nice, but I imagine this game has just as much edgy sexual stuff as the first game, which... isn't my thing and kinda turned me off from Refrain, as much as I liked the game itself, but I *might* get this at some point. NIS games often get VERY dark in their second half, they touch a lot of subjects that could be considered "triggers" for many.
