I have to remind myself to breathe when I listen to this. She makes me check baggage I didn't even know I was carrying.
Right?!
she has been through some pain man you can tell that kind of singing comes from a deeper place in the soul
@@orvonton7830 absolutely! You don’t see many artists in these times with souls at all, much less rendering themselves vulnerable to share their pain with their audience , especially at the degree she does. It does the world good to find things that most of humanity can relate to. Exposing our painful experiences heals experiences that have caused pains of division. A heart breaks the same way no matter it’s race, creed, religion, culture- etc. We all have pain in common as it never discriminates !!!
That’s irony at it’s purest form.
@@askywithanalibi4948 yeah i agree also i hope she is doing well also thanks for being so cool the internet can be a toxic place
@@orvonton7830 you too babe. Never become a product of your environment. Standards are meant to be raised. Much love ❤️
If that crowd was filled with my brother And sisters, we would not be Able to sit down like that! Just a lot of AMEN!! And YES SISTER!!
At one point I thought I was about to shout.
This performance brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. 😢
Its like the brown noise..There are certain notes you can hit that make you cry lol
Billizetti Me too. Tears running down my face.
Me too 😭
Yebba completely changed my perspective on what a talented vocalist is. You can't miss with her, literally pick any video of her to react to! lol
Literally. She changed the standard for me.
watching in 2022...We as black people always can feel and hear the SOUL in a voice honey. Yebba is the truth Lort!!!!! My gawd when you can sang you can saaaaang no matter what ethnicity you are.
Amen to that👏🏼👏🏼💕
Ha.....just so happens, she just won a Grammy with PJ Morton for their duet. I hope that man sorry now!
She did?? OMG that's awesome!
YEAH!
She has already won a Grammy.
I’ve watched this close to 30 times and I could watch it 30 more times and I will feel gutted every single time!
You absolutely hit the nail on the head with the Jazmine Sullivan likeness. All these reactions say she's like Adele which I don't hear at all. She definitely has has that Jazmine Sullivan agility and rasp. Spot on!
Amazingly, this was her first time ever performing an original song, can't wait to see where she goes.
The first time I heard Abbey Smith (Yebba) sing this song, it brought me right back to the very first time I ever heard Aretha Franklin in the 60's! Not that they sing alike, but that there is a deep in the soul communication going on, that I've never felt from any other artist. Though Ms. Franklin's music was not sorrowful like this song, but empowering, both of their music...inspiring!
She breaks my heart with this song. I feel her pain and I am happily married
she has been through some pain man you can tell that kind of singing comes from a deeper place in the soul
I get goosebumps EVERY TIME, I feel her pain
I’ve just been brought to ⛪️ Church. I’ve just had a RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE 🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
She is a force of nature.
Omg i felt that shit. It was heavy deep sad. So intriguing. No other like her. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌👌👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
she has been through some pain man you can tell that kind of singing comes from a deeper place in the soul
I said the same thing about Jazmine Sullivan.... She's amazing both of the ladies are amazing.
Love Yebba aka Abbey Smith. She's done some awesome collaberations that you should check out. Someone else mentioned her collberation with PJ Morton on How Deep Is Your Love. Gravity with Clark Beckham will take you to church. Sam Smith and Luke Levinsen. Her first video to her song Evergreen is awesome! Its a dedication to her mom who committed suicide shortly after this performance of My Mind. It was filmed in the church she used to attend with her mother and the video was the first time she was able to step back inside that church. I follow her on IG and she's so cool and down to earth.
Girl you know she was hurt and yes mam I felt that way down in my soul!!! Great reaction!!
First time I hea4d this song, Larry from Lee Twins performed (danced) 2 it. He was so emotional & she is so mesmerizing. They are beautiful.
You better react to Gravity by John Mayer that she covered with Clark Beckham like yesterday! lmao
She sang it like that because she actually wrote the song! It was her first time to perform the song in public. The saddest part is that 1 week after performing this song her mother committed suicide. "Evergreen" is the song she wrote in tribute to her mother.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it... Great reaction
Dont listen to this song when you sad.
You don't even need to be sad. She elicits that sadness with every. Damn. Word. Her passion when she sings....Whew!
For real. I feel her pain.
Great reaction! And you did it without detracting or interrupting the video. I swear, Yebba just WAILS in pain throughout this song. You just want to give her a hug!
I'm a 55-year-old construction worker and she brought me to tears. I
Love ur reaction.. Yebba is Amazing!
Love Yebba ❤️💗❤️
gotta watch Larry from Les Twins dance to Yebba "my mind"
The first time I watched a reaction to this video it just hit me so hard , and it does it every time now . I can feel her pain , and I recall my Mom's pain when my Dad cheated on her on a regular basis back in the 70's . She had 6 kids to feed and was stuck with him . It was so sad to see her go through it . My dad was so blatant that he would drive right by our house with other women sitting next to him in his truck . My friends would say , "Hey , there's your Mom and Dad , and I'd say , that's not my Mom " . I was ashamed and disgusted by what he put her through , and somehow they stayed together until they both passed away a few years back . Yebba's emotional way of singing this and the obvious story just tears me up each time I hear it , but I get a sense of needing to hear it also , not sure what is making me want to hear it ?
I love you baby♥️🥺stay strong always ok♥️
@@MirayHanner99 Thank you , and I hear ya , and I know my Mom grew stronger and she taught us to be strong . I dont get as weak emotionally on any other song , but this singer and the song's story is just more than I can handle , but it's okay to feel such things , even for us grown men . I know some people dont react like this but they probably dont know the real pain of these situations . I dont know how the hell she survived all that plus raising 6 kids , not many could do that . She had me and my bro at home by herself because he was off somewhere getting drunk . She was a tough woman and had a heart of gold even after all the horrible treatment . My Dad changed later in life and became a pretty emotional person , I think because he felt such guilt and should have . Keep up the great videos
Yes she is singing out her pain#
So I just discovered Yebba yesterday and I’m sitting here watching reaction videos in Penn Hills.
😂😂 👍🏾
Just discovered her today. HOW??? I can't stop listening to every song she's ever done! Such passion in every word!
2 days ago for me. I am obsessed
I cried lol legit tears! Check out gravity, she will take you to church!
I wish this would get on Spotify, I remember this song, always listen to it, I liked when Les twins danced to it, it’s mostly how it got out

That part when black ppl make that stank face cause they know its so healing
she has been through some pain man you can tell that kind of singing comes from a deeper place in the soul
Oh I've seen her before. She is really good!!! ♥️
Yebba givin them the business
I think she already won one Grammy.

@@orvonton7830 her mom had committed suicide the week before this performance.
@@avionterria7855 yeah man that's f*cked up i don't even know how she kept it together so well 🥺
Okayyy Pittsburgh 🖤💛 hey Girl ! New sub
"Go on bitch SANG!!!" That had me rollin'.
New Subscriber!! I absolutely loved your reaction!! You are SO correct although i’m speaking from a writer/poets POV. I heard this song & automatically thought of my first boyfriend & even though that was in 2006, it still hurts for one because it was my first heartbreak but secondly, it was with my EX-BEST FRIEND!!
"Girl you better sang!" 😭🤣
QWEEEEEN ❤️❤️❤️❤️
goosebumps
"Go on bitch, sing!".. hell yes
Abbey has a gospel background.
Gente essa mulher é a cara do deboche
I love the intro.
She bad!
She's dope and you're so cute
Yes I did
You picked up on e v e r y s i n g l e micro expression during her performance. Your reaction was prob the most real I’ve seen thus far 👏🏼👏🏼
That's a great reaction, Mirayi!!!! Her name is Abbey Smith and her mom would always call her by her name, spelled backward, Yebba. After her mom committed suicide, Abbey adopted Yebba as her stage name. When you have a moment, would you please react to 15-year old Courtney Hadwin who did an AMAZING cover of "Old Town Road"? She took this country + hip hop fusion song and turned it into a kick-ass rock and roll song You will be AMAZED!! - ruclips.net/video/anwtg4C0PTc/видео.html THANK YOU!
She’s reading us the gospel
I love Abbey backwards ( Yebba)
Better late than never!!
She wrote this about losing her mom to mental illness, her mom committed suicide one week after this was released. 😢
No the song she wrote for her mom called Evergreen
Yes, Yebba's been used and abused and her heart shattered. But God promised her and he's giving her BEAUTY FOR the ashes that man left her.
PRAISE GOD.
Yebba's cashing in on that horrific hurt.
God turned it around for Yebba's good.
Oh and he's heard this and seen reviews. And he gets to watch her LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK
Sis we about to role up! That hurt was real
Facts on the roll👏🏼♥️
Please react to Dalton Harris the X-Factor Winner 2018..Yebba is Awesome!
Yes, Jasmine Sullivan
#RAYGANGFAN Please react to Clark Beckham ft. Yebba!!! Y'all WON'T be disappointed I guarantee...💞💞💞
She won a Grammy for collaboration with PJ Morton.
Her mom committed suicide the week before this performance.
I went to school and church with her
In order to be OUT or love like that you gotta be IN love like that …….I want it to be able to SANG alike this ………but THIS is a slash YOU and HER tires song

ruclips.net/video/KMnJD71fIRE/видео.html Larry From Les Twins dance group freestyling to this live version of this song.
So this isn’t about a guy, her mother committed suicide a few days before she performed this
Er didnt you listen to the lyrics, dont think her mother would be getting into bed with her 3.45am! Lol
Actually her mom committed suicide a week after she sang the song.
Should have didn't dimmed your lights took away from the video
