    When i spray the stiffen spray my macrame starts curling. Is there something I can do to prevent that?

    • @AngsCraftsnCreations
      @AngsCraftsnCreations  Год назад +1

      Spray a good amount and then make sure you rub it into the cord. I usually use my hands but a paint brush will work too

    I accidentally purchased macrame cord that seems to have about 6-8 strands braided together so when I brush it out it just gets all knotted and fluffy. I there a particular macrame cord that I should be looking for to make the leaves, and what can I make with the cord that I already purchased. I am new to macrame and didn’t realize that there was a difference in the cord, I just went for 4mm for a project I was working on and then when I finished and started to comb it out I realized that this must be the wrong cord.

      You could still use the braided cord you purchased for any wall hangings and plant hangers. Works great! For feathers you will want a single strand macrame cord or one that says 3 or 4 ply rope. Ganxxet and NookTheory are great places to get it. Just don't use anything that said braided for the feathers. You can use any thickness, I love a good 3mm or 4mm for feathers. I hope this helps

    What size cord is best for beginners to make the feathers?

    • @AngsCraftsnCreations
      @AngsCraftsnCreations  6 месяцев назад

      The thicker the cord. The less you have to use. A 5mm may be best. But really doesn’t matter. I started with 3mm and anywhere from 3-5mm are my go to sizes.

      Thank you. That would be considered a reef knot. Your essentially making a square knot, but this version is a reef knot

    Can you help me with where to find the cord you are using? I can’t find 4” 3 ply? And most of the stuff I’ve bought is just very thick and frizzy? thank you

      Hey there! Not a problem at all! I use cord from Nook Theory and Ganxxet all the time. You can also get it on amazon. I love a 4mm single strand from Ganxxet, and any cord really. Nook theory has great 4mm 4ply macrame rope too. I do have links in my beacon bio in my details section. Hope this helps

    • @AngsCraftsnCreations

      Yarn will not brush out the same as macrame rope or cord. I suggest a rope or cord.

      I use Aleene's Stiffen Quik to help hold the shape. Spray it really good a few times and allow it to dry. It will help hold the shape for you.

    Is there something we can spray on the feather to keep the threads in place and for a crisp look?

      yes, stiffen quick is what I love to use. It is a fabric stiffener. You can also use hairspray.
