    You are spot on about the bhaptics comparison. I actually have both vests and the one I regret most is the bhaptics.
    The bhaptics motors are smaller and have an audible buzz/whine to them which is very annoying when wearing index or quest over ear solution.(quite immersion breaking)
    also the vest is tighter and warmer due to the full on zip-up nature of the vest . Basically sweaty garbage on a hot day...
    Not to mention because it fits right it's just less comfortable. The power button is located just below your neck at the back and it's touch sensitive so leaning back in your chair to play a game it has the tendency to turn on/off by itself ,
    In direct music mode , put on equal footing with the woojer it doesn't even come close to the deep silent rumble the woojer provides.

      Thanks for the information about the bhaptics, it puts the use of that vest in more context for me since I haven't tried it before.

    So for a black friday special , this vest was discounted down from $499 to $419... then it was open box in excellent condition so my final tax w/ tax was about $400. It IS well made and seemingly built to last ... but ... even at $400 , a bit out of my budget considering the Meta 3 came out at $499. It's mentioned there is an app for this and maybe one day thru the app the Vest 3 can respond to games intended feedback vs audio... then this would be worth it for gaming.

    I would not recommend BHapics for immersion, it just feels like a massage instead of a direct & instant impact from the transducers. I returned my BHaptic vest instantly after using a subpac for years. I always use my subpac using VR for gaming, movies, or music listening & can’t do it without it

  • @vtidsvr4674
    @vtidsvr4674 Год назад +1

    You summed-up the experience of using haptic vests very well. I don't use mine often anymore but it does really add immersion in many situations. I feel like a Subpac salesman at this point, but I was lucky to find them selling offical refurb vests of the Subpac M2 in 2018/19 and picked one up for £199 (although shipping was £65!). It's a great tool to have but I admit I don't use it nearly enough. It adds another dimension though when already combining 2 personal hobbies of music and VR - Using the vest in apps like Vinyl Reality. I haven't played Beat Saber for years but the vest works incredibly well with the OST stuff in that game 'cos the music is generally very bass-heavy. Honestly a great experience that everyone who likes Beat Saber should try imo. You won't want to play it again without a vest!

    • @ImmersedRobot
      @ImmersedRobot  Год назад

      I’ll have to look into Subpac too. I’ve only ever vaguely heard of it over the past few years (probably through comments or on Reddit), but it seems quite a well regarded product.

    Given the price vs even the top end bHaptics vest, there's no reason to buy one of these for VR over the something like the x40 bHaptics - not that I'd pick up one of those either. It's all too much friction - I don't even use my Buttkicker, and all you have to do is sit in a chair and plug it in to use it.

    • @ImmersedRobot
      @ImmersedRobot  Год назад +2

      The friction is a thing, but I think I’m still in the novelty stage. I’ve just got out of playing NMS for 45 minutes, and the thought to not wear the Woojer never even crossed my mind. We’ll see if that remains the case in a month’s time!

    • @vtidsvr4674

      the woojer and the x40 serve kinda 2 different purposes the woojer is far more powerful then the x40 but the x40 can do better localized haptics but if you want something to really punch you or really feel an explosion or feel a gun shot the woojer is far closer to that then the x40

    Rip off Britian again, Nice honest review. thanks IR. my worry is When they charge UK more for an item they are worried about our warranty laws and they want extra to cover that. Maybe this is not an item that would last 2 years so they cover their back, will never buy it just for that reason

    • @ImmersedRobot
      @ImmersedRobot  Месяц назад

      I agree that price would be perfect. It just doesn’t seem possible for them to reach that while making any viable profit unfortunately - at least that’s what I can only assume due to their standard pricing.

  • @blizado3675
    @blizado3675 Год назад +2

    For that price, hard to recommend even when you use it for more than VR. I have a simple bass shaker on my seat what I use in ED and I think it is really better for such games when the rumble comes over the chair and it is a lot cheaper. But if you want to play while standing, yeah, then such a vest is better, but maybe then better a bhaptics one for that price.
    Problem is, it is a niche device and so not a mass market product, that often makes such products too expensive.

    • @antjones2281
      @antjones2281 Год назад +1

      Yeah yikes that price is crazy. Only reason I have the Woojer Vest 2 is that I bought it on their crowdfunding Indiegogo campaign for less than half that price. I think it was 250

      They have promised to release a SDK for developers so they can support the vest in game and then you will get the directional haptics they will also be releasing multi channel audio support and that will provide directional support as well the firmware update is schedualed to come out in 2024

      Thank you all this was my question too. Without directional haptics it’s pointless to buy it. I already have a gaming chair with vibrations so was hoping the vest would be directional but it seems it isn’t!

    I see you have a bunch of guitars hanging in the background. I want to know if anybody has used this For playing Bass Guitar or Drums, Is there latency, can this be used as a direct input monitor? Listening to and playing along with music was my primary use case.

    • @ImmersedRobot

      With a hardwired connection, I’ve noticed only very minimal latency. However I have not used it specifically for the use case you outlined so I’d need to try it before being certain.

    Is there any rattling noise from the transducers on higher levels? I do have their single strap and at the level 9 or 10 it starts making rattling noises like something about to break kind of like a rattling subwoofer that’s being overloaded

    • @ImmersedRobot
      @ImmersedRobot  Год назад +1

      Not that I’ve noticed, no, and I’ve used it pretty much maxed out. I’m not saying that wouldn’t necessarily occur, I’m just saying that I honestly have never had rattling at all.

      no not really if you have the feedback maxed out and you get some wild bass some times you can hear the power button shake a bit but the transducers are just about silent i play with a home theater system and at a moderate volume i cant even hear anything from the vest only reason i know its there is the bass pressure in my ears when its going wild lol

    I'm torn. I have a bass shaker in my chair already, so I don't need *more* bass, but I do want a haptic vest. The impact would be great in Halo and rhythm games (Rez, Samba de Amigo, Tetris Effect?, DDR, etc.), and I'm sure a good time in other action games like Armored Core, etc. But... I *also* want the nuanced haptics of a bHaptics x40 in VR games and such. Why can't I have both? Wait... could I wear a Woojer on top of a bHaptics, and... Nah. That sounds terrible and uncomfortable. Still. I can spend $300 less and get a Woojer (last gen) right now, and I'm super torn. Is bHaptics $300 better? *Sigh* It might be, for me. Maybe especially because I have the in-seat bass shaker setup already.
    Razer is (maybe) releasing their stereo haptic chair someday, and that could be amazing/could potentially make this obsolete for me. I dunno.
    I've heard the feeling of a Halo grenade going off on a Woojer is pretty amazing, though... *Sigh*
