I hated how they treated Keenyah with the Bertini situation, the man was acting completely unprofessional and overstepped his boundaries and they just brushed it off like it was nothing🙄
15 years ago as a young teenager without the knowledge and understanding of boundaries and personal space, this really went over my head.
Now after rewatching this with lived, more experienced eyes, that photo shoot was next level problematic and I’m calling it sexual assault. Tyra would neva, Naomi would Neva and Giselle would NEVA.

But now as an adult, re-watching the episode, I was disgusted by Bertini's inappropriate behavior and the lack of sympathy and empathy for Keenyah from the judges and Jay Manuel.
@@devontamosley4487 Soooo inappropriate. Everyone was dead ass wrong. And then they let him come back for more camera time and sit at dinner with his flippant attitude. Even if you weren’t on the best terms with Keenyah, Brittany was wrong for not validating her feelings cuz if she had spoke up, it would have been handled.

The poor girl genuinely sounds traumatized talking about the Bertini incident. I can hear her voice trembling. She should've been commended for standing up for herself and they should've remove him from the set.
The reality is, it CAN HAPPEN to anyone and everyone and the show isnt gonna be there. Part of life is LEARNING and BEING ATTENTIVE! Its not to shift it on her, basically you gotta be aware!

TYRA HAD NO BUSINESS SCREAMING AT TIFFANY. Whether or not Tiffany wanted to change her life was up to her. As awful as her life sounded, it was HER life. If she wanted to throw the opportunity away that's a shame but that was HER choice. Tyra was just mad that Tiffany wasn't as in awe of her and of the opportunity as other girls were.

When this topic came up I thought the EXACT same thing. Seeing through the bullsh*t production does to the cast and not falling over backwards to be humiliated does not mean she isn’t “grateful” for the “opportunity” of being on an overly produced reality tv show. this meme didn’t age well. Of course it’s iconic, but now we’re all awakening to the horror and abuse of the entertainment industry-especially reality tv. And yeah, people like Tyra can’t even fathom a girl not selling her soul to be on her tv show. She probably doesn’t even watch the final edit to see how manipulated it is to create whatever narrative production wants.
@@twistedbabydoll85 you make a very good point and that’s completely true as a whole in the real world, but what Tyra did was publicly shame Tiffany and then it aired. We have to remember that this is tv. Production couldn’t give less of a shit about the contestants. They manipulate and traumatize to get the best drama. At the end of the day no one knows Tyra’s true intentions. And there’s a difference between tough love and straight up SHOUTING.

The same tyra who had a TV show and antm and was crying over am ex who left her..she was dealing with her own frustrations and clearly took them out. People are allowed to feel how they feel. Tyra was a successful model and was in a emotional and mentally abusive relationship her mother didn't give her a speech she let Tyra stayed untill she was ready to leave tough love is not always the answer because her mom knew Tyra would keep going back untill she was strong enough on her own. Tiffany was allowed to experience her feelings however she wanted to. You don't get to control other people's emotions girl.

We also need to wonder this about Bertini: how many other times has he done this to young women?? And gotten away with it!!!?? I remember she said "its not about being comfortable (or something along those lines)" after she stopped the shoot. I got so mad, because she should have felt comfortable. He crossed so many lines and boundaries. I'm so sorry she went thru that. But I'm so proud that she stood up for herself and said something. So brave.

She was super strong about African male model situation, very uncomfortable to watch. It wasnt her fault. He was practically assaulted her during the entire photoshoot.

Keenyah looks beautiful! She’s aged like fine wine. She also seems very intelligent. Keenyah went to college with a major in biology, right? That explains why Tyra Banks and her production team put her through the most psychological abuse and unfair treatment of the contestants in cycle 4. Like, the ten pounds she gained were HARDLY NOTICEABLE on a young woman who was already in great shape, slim, and very tall. Yet, Jay Manuel and the production team shamed the hell out of her for it! The complete dismissal by the judges of the sexual harassment allegations, were gross!
I don't think she aged at all. She looks super young still. I wish that all the stuff you are talking about had been handled better as well. I remember feeling bad for her while watching those events unfold.

Poor Keenyah was treated one of the worst this season besides Michelle and Brittani. She was constantly harped on about her weight and they assigned her Gluttony / Elephant for photo shoots. Then don’t support her when Bertini crosses the line. Seriously fucked up! It’s one thing to be a reality show and want to build drama story lines but it’s insanely cruel to build photo shoots on girls fears and insecurities. Bertini was a creep. If you watch the episode he was VERY touchy with all the girls. The way he was looking at them made me physically shudder. This season the judges, Tyra and producers were unnecessarily cruel. They constantly told Brittani to “bring down her personality, pull it back” but then eliminate her because “your personality is gone” 🤦🏻♀️ And poor Michelle. I just felt bad for her the entire show.
I kinda got emotional listening to her talking about the photoshoot with Bertini because I feel like Tyra should be ashamed of herself for not comforting Keenyah after going through that.
I love how much fun Oliver has in these interviews. He seems so happy and fun!!

However, I am surprised about her comment about Naima now! She kept it brief, but it does seem like there's some tension there.

I think her first interview is more focused on her modelling work (find your light), modelling tips and just a little bit of ANTM stories. I think it was just the Bertini SA and Tiffany situation were talk about.

I'm gonna make a random assumption about Keenyah and Naima's friendship dynamic. Basing just off watching Naima and Keenyah's interviews and gauging body language, personality, and delivery. Keenyah comes off like the more self-sufficient friend, is the one in the group that always plans the hangouts/travel trips, natural organization skills. Naima seems like the friend who's overly laid back, lets everyone else plan the hangouts/travel trips, maybe doesn't really help out as much, oblivious. The type that asks the same question in the group chat, but fails to just scroll up so you have to screenshot the damn group chat and send back to her energy LOL.
Ranting, but maybe their personalities didn't click as well later on? Interested to hear what anyone else thinks.

I can't even remember what I thought when I first watched this cycle and the whole Bertini situation, but I do remember when I decided to give ANTM a rewatch a few years ago. I was so MAD at how everyone treated Keenyah. I called my best friend and bitched about it and wrote another friend a long ass DM 😓
I wish Keenyah much love and support! She stood up for herself and I will say fuck everyone for not removing her from a situation that made her uncomfortable, and fuck them even more for blaming her for it and gaslighting her.

Should've made the All-Stars a 2 part back to back cycle. The first 8 cycles for part 1 with Shannon(s1), Camille + Sara + Mercedes(s2), Toccara + Ann(s3), Keenyah + Brittany(s4), Nik(s5), Jade + Joanie(maybe)(s6), Eugena + Melrose (s7) and Natasha (s8).

Welp she repeatedly shared on the show that she had a sketchy pass that she was progressing from, after being a long time party girl. So if thats being “fake” then yeah I guess it did work. Considering, she has still been modeling high fashion across the globe.

@@QueenAgyeiwaa I had the opposite happen! I used to find Naima a little bit forced and like... fake zen. But when I rewatched recently I liked her a lot more. I think she was genuinely a calm, mediating and nice kind of person. Which isn’t necessarily great for reality TV lol
