Looks promising, the the biggest issue is, the lighting in the photos is all baked in the texture. A secondary issue is, the resolution of details filled by your AI is pretty low, so you get tons of details on the face, but the forehead becomes very blurry in comparison. @@OnyxLee You can remove the lighting info in the textures in Photoshop. After that you can derive the bump/normal and SSS maps from the cleaned diffuse map., then use those as a guide to add further detail - including any detail missed by the AI. All it takes is 5-10 mins depending on how fast or accurate you want to work.
I'm having a problem adjusting the seem of the mouth to be right at the middle of the two lips... It doesn't work correctly for all images and I tried to adjust it with the headshot sliders and masks... But the seem of where the upper lip and bottom lip meet is not placed correctly in relation to the photo (It really depends on the photo).
Kind of fascinating how imperfections and asymmetry are what truly bring these 3D renders to life. What we try so hard to get rid of and hide is what makes representations of us stunning.

Okay.. This is a Major Step Forward.. I am very pleased as an Advancement with this product , but as others have said one of the biggest issues has been Hair for just about every product from every company. If you have even a great Character Replicator and the hair is wrong it can blow the whole thing. I used Head Shot today and got a pretty good outcome and even the hair was looking good but it did not do the complete hairstyle. It cut the outer edges off of a 1960s hairstyle which is almost like Slapping a person from that period.. or me for that matter.. You guys are doing great.. just PLEASE solve the hair issue and you will have many more new customers for sure..
Interesting result but you should add the profile pic option to get an even better result. Keep up the good work! I purchased the facial mocap solution, which is great, what Is needed next is facial hair and hair, something like fiber mesh or Xgen solution, then you’ll be unstoppable :)

@@reallusion the video is quite misleading. The generated hair has nothing to do with the high quality hair shown in the first shots. And in most of the cases the automatically generated hair geometry only is suitable for low quality models.

Good question. The Appearance Editor is only for generation 1 CC characters. (CC1) So if you have a CC3 Base character, the feature will be greyed out. Don't worry, you are doing nothing wrong. :)

@@justshady Every step that gets removed from the artist is a step towards automation and eventually there wont be any steps for character artists. I love 3d modeling, sculpting, texturing and heck i don't mind even doing UV.s but for people that have been doing this for decades and have been studying anatomy, sculpting etc, this program is an insult. If u are for speeding up the workflow than you're for automation. The same thing happened to animators, nowadays most animations are mocap and animators only do animations for stuff that can't be mocaped or for stuff thats too difficult to mocap, additionally they animate stuff like hands, secondary animation etc.

I have seen similar tech used years ago (creating 3d head from photos), but the user has to manually adjust the reference points (e.g the corner of the eyes, nose tip etc). Maybe they use AI to automate this process
We move our heads more quickly. That's why they still look like robots. We close our eyes and move our heads very quickly in random directions. They should try recreating that.

Morever, this software has one time fee licensing model. They could have monthly subscription based license model. This one time fee model motivates people the most lol. Producers will be like "Ok so we just need to pay like $300 one time and then we can create hundreds of character out of it? Cool"

We’ve had the push button musician for a long time and now we have the push button artist. I swear core skills and foundational philosophies are going down the toilet. Learn zbrush for what? You’re an instant artist these days. It like “ learn to speak Japanese in 1 hour.”
