I had been feeding my dog a high end food for all of her 9 years which was high in oil. She developed dental disease which spread to her kidneys. Her blood panel was terrible with high BUN numbers. I have slowly started introducing raw foods to her. I gave her a raw chicken wing to eat and she loved it! I noticed a lot of tartar removed after a few crunchings on them. It is interesting to see she naturally knows how to chew it into little pieces. I never knew how vulnerable small dogs are to dental disease by feeding them these "high end" kibble foods. I also give her beef liver, splen, tongue, and other things when they become available. Also goats milk and I make bone broth. With the stems and such i grind them up and add to her food. If it's a veggie that is safe for dogs to eat the stems, trimmings are ground a used. It cost me $2.11 per meal to feed Ahyoka and it's worth every penny. I live in Tennessee and have already hunted all of our kangaroos for my dog, Starbuck. Can I substitute racoon or opossum for kangaroo? 🙂 PS Finally, a diet that makes sense.
so we have a large property and rabbits used to be raised here. If we start doing this it looks as though we can leave the fur on the rabbit? And what about sweet potato, etc. Is this good? I raise lots of vegis and can give the ground kale, spinach, etc.
I actually found a raw diet kibble! The brand name is instinct the raw brand and it’s a pure raw diet kibble with no extra ingredients! And they have it for dogs and cats! (Beef version) The ingredients for dogs are: beef, beef liver, pumpkin seeds, beef spleen, carrots, apples, butternut squash, ground flaxseed, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. (Rabbit version)For cats the ingredients are: rabbit (including ground rabbit bone), pork, pork liver, pumpkin seeds, carrots, apples, butternut squash, rabbit liver, rabbit kidney, rabbit lung, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. And they have plenty of flavors too like beef, rabbit, pork, fish, etc… The point is I think you should definitely try this new stuff because it is amazing! The price for a small bag is about 15 dollars and the price for a large bag is about 30 dollars.
If the daily intake is 80/10/5/5, which I assume is 100% of the caloric intake, how much is the rest of the food? Do you subtract the calories from the added nutrition or is it so little that you just add it? Here I mean the fur, kefir, powders, smelt, mussel, egg, etc... Also, what does green tripe count as? muscle meat? Or is it part of the added nutrient? Thanks in advance!
We already feed our cats raw, but my husband doesn't feel comfortable feeding our dogs raw... I know it doesn't make any sense. Would I be able to do a home cooked diet with 80% muscle meat, 10% organs including liver, and maybe add eggshell calcium? And then other things to fill the other nutritional gaps. I just wonder how much the nutrients will be cooked out versus feeding raw...
I've fed my 20 month old GSD Instint brand dog food all his life and just recently started feeding raw meats (chicken, beef ,salman and raw eggs) daily. Is this healthy and balanced?
My family can’t afford a perfect raw diet, so we tried freeze-dried raw, she started vomiting 24/7 from it. What do I do? I introduced it slowly but she still was vomiting.
I need to leave my dog with just my son and husband and they are not familiar with feeding raw and I KNOW they will make a mess. Can you recommend a few “sound” kibble?
My question is, is this one meal or the only meal? What if I feed my 18 lb senior twice a day ? Break a meal like this into two? Or a whole other meal like this?
You can, but if you plan on feeding fish, you may want to keep that out of the blend and feed separately. Many fish contain thiaminase which basically cancels out the thiamine in other meats if stored or mixed together.
So I’m from the deep boonies and my kin breed dogs and a raw diet can actually be EXTREMELY dangerous to young dogs still growing, it actually causes there’s bodies to grow too quickly beyond the capability of the connective tissue of the joints to grow which can actually cause permanent leg, hip, joint pain to dogs who were fed raw while in the growth stage, it’s essentially the worst kind of growing pain. This isn’t true for more primitive dogs like laikas, huskies, and wolf dogs, but most dog breeds have adapted to a diet primarily made of grain and fat as the main source of calories with meat supplement, the most common dog food for the Amish in my area is cornmeal mixed with lard and game entrails whenever there available. Just want to warn others, I’ve seen my fair share of 1 year old hounds and labs come in and they can barely walk because they were fed raw and now they have undeveloped joints.
Im trying to supplement my dogs and the rest of my family's diet with as much free, foraged, caught/hunted. Are bull frogs safe for dogs to eat? Crawfish? These are things I'm able to fish for free completely without a license. Can dogs eat most seafood? I live on the coast and near a forest so resources are plentiful I'm just a little nervous about what dogs can and cannot or should and shouldn't eat...
So we make all our own food for our dogs but I have a hard time with the Malti-Poo and the Husky eating the same way. The Malti seems to like more veggies and will finish up the plate of the Husky and the Husky gets so bored. I do fear uncooked food for the Malti. Do you believe a raw food diet can work for all breeds?
The only thing i worry about for feeding a raw diet to dogs is possible Bacteria and Viruses in the meat, I'd like to know if there's a way to ensure elimination of bad bacteria in the food before giving it to dogs, or if it's safe to eat?
Would this type of diet work for smaller dogs? I have a 20lb Yorkie/Maltese with severe allergy issues and I feel like he could benefit from a raw diet. How do I know how much food to feed him a day? Is there a way to calculate it based off of his weight? I’m also scared of the bones. I guess I would need smaller bones so his small body can digest them properly. What would you recommend? Thanks! Loved the video!

Do you have recommendations for which vegetables to add to a veggie cube? Also, how much kelp powder, vitamin E, and yogurt do you give for an adult dog? I typically only have access to kidney as a secreting organ (in addition to liver), is it ok to be mainly feeding these two organs? Sorry for all the questions! Thank you!

You forgot to mention how long I have to bake the dish before I can eat it
I just found your channel and I love it! I've always wanted to feed raw and make it completely balanced for my dog and cat who are both 2 almost 3 years old. But my biggest fear was making it up balanced and hurting them or making them sick because of missing an important vitamin or mineral. You've eased my fears on that I would love to reach out to you to ask you a few questions sometime! Thank you again!
Liver us a superfood and will suffice their nutritional needs just don’t give it everyday
@@makejihyomainvocalistagain9217 - Liver should usually make up around 5% of a raw meal daily. Although this may be different depending on the dog.
I live in Tennessee and have already hunted all of our kangaroos for my dog, Starbuck. Can I substitute racoon or opossum for kangaroo? 🙂
PS Finally, a diet that makes sense.
How is this for beginners?? So much info
Leave that egg shell in the pan! Great source of calcium, my dogs love whole eggs!
so we have a large property and rabbits used to be raised here.
And they have plenty of flavors too like beef, rabbit, pork, fish, etc…
The point is I think you should definitely try this new stuff because it is amazing!
The price for a small bag is about 15 dollars and the price for a large bag is about 30 dollars.
are puppies able to have a raw diet if so how much would they be eating?
Thank you so much, after my dog switched to raw he lost 15 pounds and stopped getting ear infections.
I'm so happy to hear that!!
Thank you for this comment. My dog is 10lbs over weight and gained half a pound in the past 4 months. I'm starting to gradually switch her over.
Really nice to see more and more animals benefiting off of the raw diet! :)
Do you feed your dog this is the morning and night?
So do you feed them once a day then?
Can u grind all that up and prep it for the week?
Wow this video is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! thank you so much!
Now that is a single meal? Do you weigh out the food so not to over feed?
Do they have to be frozen or can we thaw it out then give to them
My vet said you can get Cystoisospora from eating raw diet is that true?
What size dog are you feeding all that too? And is that 1 meal a day?
Forks or fish bones are not stuck in the dog's mouth?
If the daily intake is 80/10/5/5, which I assume is 100% of the caloric intake, how much is the rest of the food? Do you subtract the calories from the added nutrition or is it so little that you just add it? Here I mean the fur, kefir, powders, smelt, mussel, egg, etc...
Also, what does green tripe count as? muscle meat? Or is it part of the added nutrient?
Thanks in advance!
i have the same question! i’m trying to switch my pups from kibble to a raw diet and it’s so confusing at first to learn everything!!!
How do I know how much to feed my golden retriever based on weight? Is it possible to do this on $100 per month?
Is it wrong to give the food frozen or should I thaw it?
Where do you get ground goose and kangaroo
How would you transition this tho, my dog is 3years old and has never ate anything raw
I've fed my 20 month old GSD Instint brand dog food all his life and just recently started feeding raw meats (chicken, beef ,salman and raw eggs) daily. Is this healthy and balanced?
I really wanna feed my dog food like this, she’s so picky, and I’ve tried everything under the sun. Can I feed her a raw diet every day?
My family can’t afford a perfect raw diet, so we tried freeze-dried raw, she started vomiting 24/7 from it. What do I do? I introduced it slowly but she still was vomiting.
I need to leave my dog with just my son and husband and they are not familiar with feeding raw and I KNOW they will make a mess. Can you recommend a few “sound” kibble?
Amazing video 😊
My dog have good stool with barf .. but one day when i got new bone grind very smooth mix my dog have running stool... is that normal?
Where do you get all of this?!!
My question is, is this one meal or the only meal? What if I feed my 18 lb senior twice a day ? Break a meal like this into two? Or a whole other meal like this?
Amazing! Thank you!
Thabk you this is very educational. May I blend everything since my dog is so picky??
You can, but if you plan on feeding fish, you may want to keep that out of the blend and feed separately. Many fish contain thiaminase which basically cancels out the thiamine in other meats if stored or mixed together.
is it possible for me to substitute boney meats for something else??
I really enjoy your videos. What about using carrots and broccoli, some fruits?
Absolutely! Any dog of any size can eat raw. I hope these videos are a bit more helpful: ruclips.net/video/6yDyA0jh-sk/видео.html | ruclips.net/video/YwkwkecJx3E/видео.html |

Do you have any sample raw diet recommendations for Toy Australian Shepherds? My pup is 7 months old now. Hates his kibble and LOVES meat.
Great content, beautifully presented, but would have liked a voice over :) Keep it up!
Can I feed a single protein at a time ? Yet still switching proteins from time to time?
I was about to comment that this gotta be the less friendly and more expensive way to do raw food for dogs. I mean, kangaroo meat? Goat milk yogurt?
And then, I realized that you already did a budget video too... Thanks! =)
Is this fed once a day or more? I have an 85lb husky/Akita mix.
You can either feed it once a day or split it between 2 meals and feed twice a day. Totally up to you!
Do whatever works best for you and your dog.
Diet:"this diet replicates what your dog, or their ancestors would be eating."
Also diet:"Ground Kangaroo"
Joking aside thank you for the breakdown in nutrients. I'll be saving this for when I'm ready/ if I'm ready to switch to raw diet for my fur babies
Great guidance. I found a fabulous raw provider in CT that serves New England. Over 80 products and prices are the best I have found. Top dog food and supply.
Where can i get this stuff from??i wanna start my dog on raw foods
Would you feed this every day? And how many times a day ?
Yes, and twice a day. Make sure you slowly introduce it or else I will start vomiting and might get severely sick.
Thank you!
Hey look into "house of wrinkles" for help. I've been in touch with them and the are super nice people.
what is the benefit of a duck feather in it?
My dog is allergic to eggs can he eat quail eggs instead?
Just gave my dog some raw meat last night with his kibbles had diarea this morning is that normal?
Could you pls do a vid where show like a few different recipes and what ingredients go in they it would mean the world to me
where or how do you get the green little veggie thing that you added to the bowl?
Great details..
Why not cooked bone? I work at a restaurant and i always bring the cowboy or tomahawk bones to my dog, am i doing something wrong??
Once they’re cooked they become very sharp and can cause their stomach to cut and it can’t be digested that’s what my vet told
So you don't recommend feeding chicken thighs?
