Yes i spend more money in his food, but very less in vet bills (not a single problem due of his condition after we found the right diet)This was done with the help of his amezing vet :) no supplements needed

    I've been feeding my Labradors a raw diet for years now and they go nuts over carrots, whole ones. They also like liver, heart, tripe and kidney, oh and yes they also enjoy eggs whole! When I am making dinner they come to get whatever veg I am preparing, it's almost like an illicit treat. However I was truly amazed when they came round me to beg for a piece of tangerine that I was eating, and they enjoyed it! So, now any fruit or veg (except onion) is fair game for them. Healthy, happy and shiney.

      @Apostolic Cruiser ; there are complete raw foods for dogs. I give my dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier weighing 23 kilos, half a kilo of raw dogfood a day, in 2 meals of 250 grams. I live in the Netherlands and I buy the brands Carnibest ( which is expensive) and Mulders. ( Cheap) ( You can see the difference in meat between the two brands.) I started with giving these raw food because my dog started to scratch himself a lot when he was young , he had red spots in his arm pits and groins, the vet told me he was allergic to food because of the spots being in mirror image of each other. If he was allergic to something he came in contact with it would not be so. He gave me the advice to start with hypo-allergic kibble. But I didn't listen to him and started with raw food which was CHEAPER than that special anti-allergic kibble!!! Six years after and he still has no allergic reactions. (Only when I give him a piece of my sandwich, which I sometimes forget to not to do).

      Yes! I transitioned my pack of three German Shepherds to raw. Wow! I noticed the difference in two weeks; smaller stools, shining coat and teeth, and tons more energy. My oldest Shepherd was a sport dog and developed a bone spurt in his spine. He was gaining weight due to less mobility. Raw leaned him again and give him the energy to join my younger dogs on long walks again. He’s back to his old antics. Feeding raw is how I payback my dog’s loyalty and hard work for me.

    I'm a professional chef and I feed my Alaskan husky salmon, duck trimmings, chopped beef or venison cord, boar bones, and vegetables mixed with some good quality kibbles. He's highly allergic to chicken so his lamb kibbles provide just enough crunch to keep him interested! Now my parrots and lizards are a whole different story! Feels like I'm cooking around the clock of life.... Your animals are stunning and you look like a wonderful person :) Cheers from Canada!

      @Marrowbones Fact....look at the diaries/pens/posters all around a Vet, exactly the same as a normal doctor. They more they sell the less the unit price is, in other words they make more profit % the more they sell. Veterinary clinics also win prizes like holidays and cash for being top performers by region

Misha(male)& Kiska. I remember we went over to their house once and Misha jumped up in back of my husband and tested his paws on his shoulders and I swear he was like at least 6.5 feet tall standing on hind legs,huge but so beautiful,he just stood for a minute and rubbed his chin on my husband's head to leave his scent like ok next time I know you come I'll know you.I have always loved and respected all animals but especially wolves,I think I'm part because they are always misunderstood.

Giving her real food is why I believe my pup has never had an ear infection, no allergies or skin issues. Everyone raves about how shiny and thick her coat is. I decided early on I wanted her to live as long as possible. I spend so much time every day caring for her, why wouldn't I feed her with the same care and love I give the rest of my family.

But i have found chicken drums for 3 dollars kg, Liver for the same and then i buy pig neck steak for 6 per kg. Then i can add what ever i find of half prize meat on top. The funny thing is that prepared raw dog mince is A LOT cheaper. :/ so i have used to give that as well. Blueberries and eggs + vegt. on top. Works very well for my dogs :)

      @@Vixxen___904 You should look for a local supplier of BARF animal food. If there is one, they usually have all the info and the food to provide a balanced diet for your dog. I have a GSD and she's been eating raw food all her life and she's happy and healthy.

    Love this video! I'm trying to do this with my laika a bit more because she has a LONG history of belly problems. It's getting better so we started with bones and raw meat and sometimes it went wrong, but 95% of the time it's fine and she LOVES it. That's what I like so much about this, the dog can take its time to eat and really enjoy and focus. I'll move soon and I will buy a huge freezer for her meat! Gonna be great.
    Btw uploaded a video of her (13 year old Siberian Laika mix) of her eating a fish caught a minute before she started eating it!! so awesome. Love her happiness 💕💖

    Loved this video Anneka. My dogs love raw food and I can vouch on everything you said as my dogs are so healthy and I have never taken them to the vet for 3 years now. I have fed them raw food since they were pups so they are pretty much use to chewing the food without me having to blend the vegetables. They even chew the egg shells without me crushing it. They love green leaves too, have you tried "Kankun" ? it's a very healthy leaf, my dogs just love chewing them at anytime I make it for ourselves. Duke my Husky mix loves natural food he eats kibbles only as a last resort lol. My american Lab had never eaten raw food until I adopted her, she just copies my husky mix Duke in everything he does and now she is a very healthy and happy dog :) try murunga leaves too, it's a super food both good for humans and dogs.

    • @zander3696
      @zander3696 5 лет назад +3

      a good trick for that is using chicken leg quarters since they are naturally balanced for most dogs just make sure you're getting the cheapest stuff you can since then it comes from the biggest factory farm around and the last thing they want is salmonella going through there so they inoculate them in the egg so there's pretty much a 0% chance of your dog getting salmonella however make sure it's full leg quarters do not use legs and thighs they are different

      @tailsntrails 5 лет назад +1

      I feed my husky raw and it’s been the best choice for her. She gets a pound a day and it’s usually a raw egg with a chicken quarter. Other times I Mix it up with a variety of lamb turkey or duck with chicken livers and sardines. She loves it. Also Stella and cheweys is a great brand sold in pet store that makes burger patties with the exact right balance of nutrition. I give a burger for 2 or three meals per week.

      She wouldnt eat lettuce but ate rat poison so i dont think they k kw whats what tbh. My mum in summer every monday makes a huge salad and that'd go with dinner for 2-3 nights and if there was any left we gave it to the dog, she'd pick through all the shredded lettuce for the pieces of carrot, tomato etc.

    Thank you Anneka, that was very informative. I'm just starting BARF with my 4 Labradors and much of the advice out there is confusing. Too many percentages. On one site I had people going off about how my dinners were unbalanced, but wouldn't elaborate further. They just kept throwing percentages at me and sending me to the page's guidelines. Your video was very straightforward and very informative. So, thanks again, I will definitely be following you from now on... Keep up the great work.

      You need more than just meat. You need around 80% muscle meat, 5% liver, 5% other secreting organ, and 10% bone. It's not too complicated but they can end uo with a deficiency if they don't get a "balanced" diet.

    thank you Anneka! I like to use the BARF diet for my dogs, as they are all mastiffs but sadly mastiffs don't usually live very long, but this diet had my boyfriend's Neopolitan mastiff Bella live for almost 12 years.

    • @Animal-Watch
      @Animal-Watch  6 лет назад +2

    I feed chicken quaters and 10% organ meat every meal to my yellow labrador and his coat and energy has been better than ever. It's cheaper and convientent other than freezing it for a couple days before feeding. I never feed my dog veggies, he doesn't like them, but I do give him like a tablespoon amount of a banana every now and then. I find it better to feed full quarters and not ground up meat because they can rub off the tartar on their teeth by chewing on the flesh and bone.

      I began feeding my Sarplaninac raw food 6 months ago, at the beginning he didn't like vegetables and fruit. After a while though he began to enjoy apple, bananas and carrots. I give him only a teaspoon of liver a day. It's been very good for his health but it's quite expensive. I wouldn't be able to feed quality raw meat to 3/4 dogs.
