That would be a very very very costly project that the company wouldn’t want to invest in. They knew how much of a draw it is at great adventure, they could have just done it there, but corporate wants nothing to do with the reimagined strata anymore. If 2025 isn’t a good year for TT2 I wouldn’t be surprised if they scrapped that as well.
It breaks my heart knowing that one of the reasons I wanted to visit Great Adventure back in 2014-2016 was because of Kingda Ka, and the Intamin Parachute tower because it was the last of its kind, and the one I was more familiar with at Six Flags Over Texas was imploded in 2012.
@@ankor1066 I’m convinced that’s going to happen to great adventures as well. Who knows, maybe we I’ll get lucky and they will film it! But yes it is very tragic. A lot of the childhood rides are now closed and it breaks my heart that it’s not the same park that I fell in love with when I was a kid
@@Kingdakev If they blow it up like they did the Texas Chute Out at SFOT, it would be a major heartbreak for me as well, I knew the time would eventually come because its old, but I would have liked to see them dismantle it and maybe sell it to a different park, but I don't want to get my hopes up.
@ personally I think that ship has sailed. If they took it down as soon as the ride was closed it may have been possible, but I’m sure getting new parts for the ride must be a nightmare. It’s going to be very weird pulling up to gadv next year that’s for sure.
@@Kingdakev It's been an icon to the park for 40 years, and it was basically the park's own observation tower, so it is very disappointing and upsetting for most Great Adventure fans I can imagine. I understand getting parts for the ride is extremely difficult, because Intamin no longer makes parts for that particular ride type anymore. I also never got to ride a Top-Spin like Twister either, so it sucks that I will never get to experience them.
This makes me feel the same way I felt when Universal closed Dueling Dragons. Don't get me wrong Hagrid's was a great replacement but they tore down arguably the best inverted coaster in the world for it. Dueling dragons will always have a special place in my heart, and so will Kingda Ka. Waiting at the parking tolls for them to open watching Ka test gave me goose bumps. Then after my first ride I got hooked on the intensity because it's so visceral and unlike anything else. A lot of people called it a one-trick pony, but dang it, that pony did that trick really well. I'm so glad I made it to Jersey this year to ride it. I only wish I knew it was in danger of closing I would have ridden it more. Tearing down such an iconic coaster with no official warning has really left me in shock and awe. I hope what they build in its place is amazing, but I don't even want to speculate what that will be, because it keeps reminding me that Ka is gone.
I couldn’t agree with this more. It’s honestly very disrespectful that the park wasn’t able to do a proper send off for a ride that did so much for them. And while it’s not great adventures fault, it just shows that no ride is safe in the chain anymore and they may close at anytime
This will be very weird considering they are removing something that wasn’t too reliable but I honestly wouldn’t put it past them if the ever build an S&S Air Launch Coaster. The record could be 85 or 90mph with 5 Inversions and that would definitely bring a lot of love to the park
Is in its final years was actually decently reliable. From what I’ve heard and witnessed, the ride was almost always open besides small periods of downtime here and there. An air launch coaster does seem like a good replacement but i think anything they build has to be over 100mph to be good for great adventure. I’m just not sure how much six flags liked the results of maxx force and all the problems it gave them. Thankfully this year that ride was running reliably as well.
Son of kingda ka+updated track and launch system, what arw the depreciating yearscof these things. Looking at their financials the depreciation expense was well up
Closing one of the fastest coasters SUCKS! While TTD (the best coaster I have ever ridden) was better in my opinion, KA was second best followed by Storm Runner. Regarding Ka, an extended layout with more high speed launches would be awesome. Rides I wished I could have ridden: Do Dodonpa, Formula Rossa, Ring Racer and Hypersonic XLC. I would love to ride Maxx Force. I will ride TT2 countless times since Cedar Point is my home park. Hopefully, the KA replacement has at least one 100+MPH launch. Kingda Ka's speed record was beat by Formula Rossa in 2010. Still has the height record until Falcon's Flight opens.
Fingers crossed it’s also a full circuit coaster and not that shuttle coaster with spinning cars. I will be very upset if that ends up being the “worth successor” to ka in corporate’s eyes.
Yes I will be keeping the channel name. The ride means so much to me due to growing up with the ride that as of right now I have no intentions of changing my name on here.
I wish, but sadly intamin will never build another hydraulic launch. It will be an LSM if anything and people would only complain saying it’s not as good as ka. Who knows though. Maybe they will. I mean we never thought they would close it and they did so anything’s possible at this point lol
Great adventure year over year has less and less rides open. They are making bank I don’t get it. Hate they took over cedar fair parks they will not maintain and kill them next. Just keep stock price up
They didn’t take over, they merged. Cedar fair is the one that’s also mainly in charge. Cedar fair is running the show just with the new name of six flags.
This has been such a heartbreaking saga to live through as a lifelong SFGAdv goer. Long live the King.
It really is. LONG LIVE THE KING!
Here’s a crazy idea what if they relocate Kingda Ka and reimagine it in another location in the park

I’ll never forgive them for removing, Twister, Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro. I’m absolutely disgusted they are doing this
Just remember it’s not the parks fault but corporate

Green Lantern would need new track like Incredible Hulk to be worth relocating it
Maybe not all but some
The only thing Green Lantern had good was the layout

Haven't felt this upset since great america removed 3 coasters in 3 years.
Shockwave, Iron wolf, and deja vu

Damn I was literally planning a summer trip to SFGA this summer after graduating college.
So stupid
At least you’ll still have toro and nitro!

The sky ride was from the New Yorks Worlds Fair its pure history now that is a crying shame
It really a shame. I wish they could have kept it around but thankfully she lived a nice long life.

They could bring back Kingda Ka with new track and obviously a new structure

Queenda Ka
Didn't see you ride any of them?
I’m not actually riding them in the videos. They are all off ride povs
@Kingdakev all good 👍

They made a very bad decision to do this.
Couldn’t agree more!
Obviously. Get ready because El Toro is next. It's got less than 5 years before it's gone.
It’s sucks but I understand it’s a money hog
Fair but I will say that la brings in so much attendance that they easily make up the costs of operating the ride
